Always been a big fan of firehouse subs! Everyone has to get the brisket! I will always preach that gospel, amen!

This has nothing to do with the food or service. I gave it 2 stars because when I finally got enough points to get a medium sandwich. I go to order it on the app and am told that it's not actually free. You have to have at least $0.01 in your subtotal. Which you means to have to order something else and pay for it.

This is a friendly location, and being kinda tucked away it isn't over-loaded with traffic, so it tends to be more tidy than other locations. Our daughter tried the daily special, the Virginia Honey Ham and said she really liked it. My go-to is always the Hook-n-Ladder, which is as sandwichy as a warm, flavorful sandwich should be. The counter help was happy, accurate and made a good product. See you again soon!

Place is super clean and the servers greets us once we walk in. They have a lot of choices, kind of like subway but you tell them what you want and they bring it out to you. Sandwiches are good! I got the club in the sub and my partner got the BBQ one. Both were excellent. They provide like 10 different kinds of hot sauces ranging from a level of 1-10. The sandwiches are flavorful and they steam their meats which makes it oh so moist and tender. You can buy a combo with chips and a drink or just the sandwich. I'm more of a fries girl so I just got the sandwich.

Probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It's not cheap but it's a good sandwich place.

The Hero sub is my all-time favourite. Not sure why they're always so stingy with the jalapeños when I order them on my sandwich.

It's an older, well-worn place without trendy décor or manufactured ambience--and honestly, I felt right at home. It was a quiet Saturday morning with only about four tables occupied. The staff was busy preparing for the lunch crowd, while the customers who were there clearly seemed to be regulars. I ordered the eggs and onions with lox, and it was absolutely delicious. I'll be back for a sandwich sometime soon. I understand why people keep returning. I was seated and ordered a Reuben since it's one of my favorite sandwiches. The waitress asked if I wanted corned beef, pastrami. or half-n-half. I chose half-n-half because I wanted to try both. I will probably choose the corned beef next time as I thought it tasted better than the pastrami. I have nothing bad to say about the sandwich. It was pretty good. Exactly like how I expected a Reuben to be. I would definitely order it again. The service was good. I was informed that Carshon's was a cash only restaurant so I brought cash. It turns out they apparently take cards now but with an extra processing fee.

Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

The oldest sub shop in Texas is not a title you stumble into, and one visit makes it clear they've earned it. First, the parking situation, because someone has to say it. The spots up front are scarce and competitive. Don't give up, there's additional parking in the back with its own entrance. File that away before you go, or you'll spend ten minutes circling a strip that has not gotten larger since the 1970s. And speaking of the 1970s, the interior leans fully into its vintage identity. Small, dark, and unapologetically retro, it feels like a sub shop that missed the memo on modern restaurant design and decided it didn't care. Honestly, respect. Now, the subs. Galligaskin's cuts their own meat and cheese in house and bakes their rolls fresh daily, which is the kind of thing that sounds like marketing until you take a bite and realize it actually matters. The roast beef and cheese, loaded with toppings, is a proper sandwich. The house-made Galli Oil and pickled pepper finish that goes on every sub is the secret weapon - not spicy, just deeply flavorful, the thing that makes each bite a little better than the last. We also tried the burger, which came as a genuine surprise. A sub shop doing a burger well feels like it shouldn't work, but here we are, soft bun, flavorful patty, no notes. For sides, the Tater Tots are the undisputed champion of the table. Crispy shell, fluffy interior, the ideal tot. The fried okra was a strong runner-up, well breaded and served with ranch. The French fries, however, were a swing and a miss. They looked the part, golden, fresh cut, promising - and then arrived soggy. A limp fry is a tragedy in any zip code, and these were no exception. No one wants a sad potato. Order the tots. Skip the fries. You've been warned. Galligaskin's in the real deal, a Fort Worth original that's still earning its reputation one fresh-baked roll at a time. One last night: they're closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly. A cruel fact to discover in the parking lot.
