This was a place we were genuinely excited to try, and it absolutely delivered. I love supporting local businesses, and this one is a true GEM. We went on a Saturday around noon and were shocked it wasn't packed, because the food here is phenomenal. The experience started strong right away. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, who was incredibly friendly. He asked if it was our first time, and when we said yes, he brought us samples of their birria beef. It was unbelievably tender and seasoned perfectly. After some great conversation, we ordered, grabbed our number, and sat down. We ordered four dishes for five people, the loaded birria nachos, birria tacos, quesabirria, and the birria mac and cheese. Every single item was fresh, flavorful, and filling. We were all full by the end. The meat was fall-apart tender, the consommé was outstanding, and the salsa had just the right amount of heat without overpowering anything. The mac and cheese was rich, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself was spotless and clearly well cared for. This is a family-run business, and that shows in the best way. During our meal, the owner even came by with his grandbaby, and the whole place just had that warm, family vibe that makes you want to come back. Yes, it's a little more than you might expect to pay, but it is absolutely worth it. The portions are generous and the quality is top-tier, so you leave satisfied in every way. Every once in a while, you run across a hidden gem. We had been hearing about this place that just opened and decided to give it a shot. It's definitely mom and Pop and they both greeted us and talked to us throughout our dining experience. A quaint little restaurant, but smelled amazing when you walk in. We ordered the Birria taco plate, chips, and queso, street corn. The chips were hot and homemade and delicious, as was the queso. The street corn was out of this world amazing. The flavors popped in your mouth. The Birria tacos are some of the best in the entire metroplex. We've been searching and have tried at least a dozen places, and this is tied with number one. This business used to be a food truck that frequented local events. Now they have permanent spot in Keller's eastern business district. The tacos were delicious, I had Tacos Al Pastor, my wife the Carne Asada. Both were great! This family run business treats their customers like family. The interior is modern, clean taqueria look. Our only disappointment was the salsa, it's too gringo-centric, it would be nice if they offered a hotter, more flavorful salsa. read more

What a nice surprise to find this hidden gem close by. Avila Taco is family owned and operated, originally started as a food truck and now has a retail location here in Keller. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, but they're best known for their birria meat and tacos. The pichana caught our eye as a shareable option: 8 ounces of perfectly seared and seasoned medium rare beef, along with cilantro lime rice, pinto beans, and blue sopes trio consisting of beef, chicken, and al pastor pork toppings--absolutely delicious. Additional tortillas were necessary, and they brought them out in a flash. Run -- don't walk -- to Avila. The birria was absolutely delicious, and the service was spot on. The owner was incredibly friendly and even came out to chat with me, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. A surprising standout for me was the salsa verde -- honestly the best I've ever had. I'll be ordering extra next time without question. They offer both beef and chicken birria (I've only had the beef so far, but the chicken is next on my list), and they serve it in all kinds of fun and creative ways -- including birria grilled cheese and birria mac and cheese. Excellent Birria tacos! Excited to see a new taco spot at Keller Crossing I went to Availa Taco today for what I planned to be a light lunch, but I ended up inhaling three birria tacos. I've had many birria experiences and the consume is either a hit or miss, in this case it is a hit! Every bite was the perfect bite with their ratio of meat and cheese. Lightly grilled with a nice portion of consume and delicious green sauce that has a kick but is not overly spicy. This family owned brick and mortar is from the popular food truck you've likely had or seen around Keller. Just like the food truck you can expect kind and quick service (seriously quick I waited less than five minutes for my to-go order) and scrumptious eats. The brick and mortar gives you an opportunity to sit down in the casual dining room. It is fast food-ish in the way you first order and pay, they give you a number, the food is brought to your table and you dispose trash in the bin. My tacos ( comes with 3) were about $17 after tax. Highly recommend supporting our family owned and Keller grown establishment. read more

Wow - spur of the moment decision to try this place for something quick. The loaded fries are amazing and would order them again. The al pastor has so much flavor. All were excellent, the Al Pastor is marinated in Mole as opposed to Adobo which gave it a unique taste when paired with the pineapple that sits atop. I am skeptical about 5 star reviews when there are less then 100 reviews, but I have to say this place was a 5 star experience. First, the place was clean, modern, counter ordering. The menu is simple, but enough for everyone ti be happy. We had tacos and they were amazing! We had the birria and carne asada Tacos along with queso, and accidentally, the street corn dip. What an amazing accident! The street corn dip was something special! Seriously, everything was delicious. We were there for a late lunch so we didn't have to wait, but I have heard from an employee that it can get really busy, which makes sense given how good the food is. DELICIOUS! MUY DELICIOSO! My wife, daughter and I stopped by for dinner after gymnastics class. The place was very clean and tidy. The older gentleman at the front was very nice and recommended the birria for meat choice. He also mentioned the birria tacos being really good. We took his word for it and were wowed! The birria burrito was delicious and massive! I had enough for dinner and lunch the next day! My wife's tacos were also delicious and she could only eat 2 out of the 3. If you love mom and pop shops, this one should be in your list to try because their birria tacos are amazing! The moment we walked in we were greeted with smiling face and the employee, who I assume is the owner, was so happy and eager for us to try their beef that he gave us a free sample and it was delicious. One of my new favorites. I'm working my way through the menu and everything has been great. I've had the birria tacos, and the birria quesadillas. I've had grilled picanha which was a delicious change of pace. But so far my favorite is the birria grilled cheese. I ordered the beef quesabirria, which felt a bit risky since not everyone knows how to make a good birria, but my choice definitely didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious, fresh, and well prepared. I also ordered a bottle of Jarritos in tamarind flavor, which paired perfectly with the meal. With a $5 add on for 2 small slices of extra pork that's a $20 bowl. So yes, 3 stars. They have bottled Kirin so I might be back, but I will be exploring the other menu items.

It's located in Hurst in a little strip mall that's mostly empty but you can see the concentration of business and cars in the corner on the side where this restaurant is, when we first walked in we both noticed a bit of a strange smell like I would describe as mildew and I think that's because they were running two portable air conditioner units inside so I don't think this is something that's on the regular and after we sat down neither of us noticed it again. As we walked in I also noticed That this place has a nice little cozy feel to it with some interesting decor, beautiful paintings on the wall and kind of an old school feel which I enjoy, there's an upstairs section that's pretty cool looking also where you can have private events or family style gatherings. Right off the bat the service was very friendly and attentive, we ordered two appetizers the shrimp Yakitori and an order of the pork and vegetable egg rolls both appetizers were fresh and delicious, I also had upon the servers recommendation their honey lemon ice tea which was very good. For our entrees My girlfriend ordered the spicy beef bulgogi and I ordered the spicy pork bulgogi, our food came out in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. The portion size was very good and I was happy to see the ratio of meat to vegetable was about 90% meat to 10% vegetable which is what I expect in a bulgogi. Overall I really liked this place and if I'm in Hurst I wouldn't hesitate to drop back in for some more delicious Korean food at Yori! P.s. No table grills just FYI

I was greeted warmly upon entering, and my food was prepared quickly and packaged securely. It's the only time I've ordered a Tuna Tower (from any sushi restaurant in the last 4 years) that remained intact and beautifully presented when I unpacked my order. Everything was delicious and prepared with skill and care. I love the flavor of the lump crab in the tuna tower (most places use imitation crab, which is tasty, but is less refined tasting than what I ordered today). The spicy tuna roll definitely had a bit of a "kick", in a good way. And not a mayo-based spicy tuna. The chicken kaarage was very tasty, though it lost a little bit of the crunchy batter texture from the drive back to my home. But very flavorful, and the chicken was tender and juicy. The miso soup had a richness to the flavor...very comforting for a cold evening. I'm glad I found this gem in the Keller area! I'm looking forward to trying some of their other menu items in the future.
