I don't usually leave reviews, but this place refuses to make chili dogs and it's really annoying at this point and there's ALWAYS a problem when I order a chili dog. I ordered a chili dog on the app and went through the drive-through and they said they didn't have chili dogs and that I would have to get a refund through the app. I pulled out of the drive through to try and figure it out then came back through the drive through and called them out and said that that's not possible. They had no idea how to do a refund and they said they would switch it out for something else. So I said OK just give me chicken strips instead. Then we pulled around and they made us pull up and park and wait for our food as many cars were going by us. They finally brought out food and it wasn't even close to what we ordered. After being frustrated and letting them know that this wasn't even what we ordered the girl asked to look at my phone and see what we ordered originally on the app. She proceeded to TAKE MY PHONE inside and behind the counter, and I followed her in because I didn't know what she was doing. Our order wasn't huge so I didn't think she needed to take my phone for that long to figure out the order. She was scrolling through my phone I guess looking for the order even though I already had it pulled up on it, but it took her a couple minutes and I told her I wanted my phone back. She then saw that I originally ordered a chilli dog and then proceeded to tell the other kid to start heating up chili. They ended up making the original chilli dog order AND giving us a chicken strip basket as well which we didn't originally order..... SO THEY COULD MAKE CHILI DOGS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!! They just didn't want to. I've had an issue every single time I go to this place and it's ridiculous. This whole encounter took over 30 minutes. So they wasted everyone's time, their business lost money because they got gave us free food and they made customers mad and I'm sure the coworkers who had to deal with all of this simply because they didn't want to originally make a chili dog that has five things to it. Hot dog, bun, chilli, cheese and onions. I really hope the owners see this because it's such a petty thing that can be easily solved. I'm leaving a photo of the receipt of our order so you know this isn't just made up and how not complicated the order was. I'm writing this today because today (5/12/26), I once again tried to order a chili dog with onions and they didn't put onions on it and then we had to go back and tell them we wanted onions on them and the kid said "oh well we'll have to chop them"... yeah that's what you have to do to put onions on a chili dog. This place is insane

Been a staple place in sandy for ice cream treats and food for many years. The burgers are always put together nicely and tasty. This trip I had the triple steakhouse burger. It was cheesey and delicious! I added lettuce and tomatoes for an added fresh bite. I love their weekday happy hour where milkshakes are half price. I think after reading this you probably need a banana split!

No toast and miniature chicken strips. Tiny fry portion. Be warned. Not like it's a global disaster, but it is $8 and a bushel of let down.

Did not realize this DQ was so below average. I love a good DQ; this isn't one. If you like a good chicken strip basket (because gravy and Texas toast!), don't go to this DQ! They forgot my toast and I have never seen such tiny chicken strips. Compare them to the size of the dipping sauce. Talked to staff--they all knew how tony they are, say it is their supplier. Anyway, just a warning.

    Happy customer!

Driving through town while on a road trip, when my boyfriend and I got hungry. We decided that Dairy Queen would be a decent enough, quick bite to eat. We pulled up to the drive through. We were immediately greater by a friendly voice who introduced himself as "Allen". He was polite and took our order. We pulled up to the window and "Allen" who was the manager, greater us again with a big smile! It's refreshing seeing a friendly face at a fast food restaurant! Not only was he polite, but he was attentive. He wasn't taking someone else's order and trying to listen to us at the same time! He also asked us if we didn't mind waiting another minute for fresh fries. We told him we would very much appreciate fresh fries. He asked us to pull into one of the spots and that we would get our good shortly. Not even a minute later and Allen hand delivered our food! Refreshing to get some good service!! Will come again on the next road trip!

A bit slow, but they had some really great deals going so my family wasn't unhappy. The chicken strips here are pretty good.

Our friends highly recommended this spot so we made a point to stop here on our way into Portland…read more The scenery was beautiful surrounding the drive-in, which also has some indoor and patio seating. They have a nice big parking lot and it was free to park when we went on a Monday. There is a trail and playground nearby so it was nice to enjoy our ice cream after over there. I loved how they had coloring pages and crayons at the counter for the kids to kill some time while waiting for the food! I loved that they had some Asian inspired flavors on the menu which I was not expecting! I kept it simple with a grilled cheese which they serve on a waffle and I also added pulled pork for a small upcharge. The tomato soup pairing was so delicious and it was such a comforting meal in the foggy overcast weather. For dessert, we tried the rainbow brite seasonal sundae, which had these ripe mangoes and ube swirl inside. It was so cute with the little rainbow jellies! The vanilla soft serve itself was really good so I think I would've been happy whether it was a plain sundae or completely loaded like this one. We also tried the guava cheesecake cookie, which was huge and I loved the guava cheesecake filling. Sugarpine did not disappoint and it definitely lived up to the hype. It's a little bit outside of Portland, but definitely worth the drive for the scenery and the food!

Food: The regular price of their sundaes are about $10 but really $12 once you include the 20% tax…read more The flavors were good though. We had the Chery Colada parfait which was a vanilla with cherry and pineapple and the Once in a Blue Moon which is a blueberry ube mix. The cuban pork and boriqua bbq chicken sandwhiches were approx $18/$22 with tax and $17/$21. So you can easily spend over $100 for a family of 4 stopping for lunch. No judgement, just letting you know what to expect and you can decide if it's worth it for you. Service: Non existent in the sense that you stand in line order at a window and seat yourself if you can find a spot, your food comes up at a window, and you throw your own trash out afterwards, but they charge you 20% extra on every items. Why not just raise your prices 20% and put a sign that says no tips? I guess employees would earn more money when it's busy on a Sunday but make less when its slow? To each his own. I'm just letting you know what to expect. Ambiance: It's a walk up sanwhich and soft serve ice cream food place in a great location by the Sandy river. We came on a Sunday and it happened to be their Anniversary celebration so they had a dj and they were doing a collab with some burger place. On this day, it was either pulled pork or bbq chicken sandwhich options or the burgers and the sign said food could take as long as 55 minutes in addition to the line that was over 30-45min long. So we opted for their sundae specials for $8 and burgers because we assumed the burgers would be cooked faster while we were still in line for the ice cream. But NO! Despite no line and nothing being cooked when we ordered, the burgers weren't ready until long after we got our ice creams and finished. Burgers were actually a bargain! Only $48 for 3. So that was only $16 each. Parking was awful. Seating was not much better, we were able to find a table to share with others. I had been wanting to come here for years seeing them on IG and here on yelp but don't make it out to Troutdale very often. So I was happy to finally try them out. Unfortunately I don't know if it is always a 1-2hr commitment. I probably wouldnt make a trip just to come here, but if you are on the Sandy river next door, an ice cream to share is probably not a bad deal.

Walking into the Soda Shop, it feels like a kid's daydream. There was candy and souvenirs everywhere, a big ice cream counter, and, of course, the soda shop. I noticed that they also sell food here-- it smelled amazing and I would definitely give it a try if I came again. Ordering was easy, and the young man behind the counter was really helpful-- I had never been to a soda hop before, so I had some questions about the options. He did not make me feel silly for having questions, and he did a good job of both training his coworker and being attentive to the line at the same time. I ordered a sugar free salted caramel soda (there were so many sugar free options!!!) It was delightful. I was a little apprehensive that it would actually taste like the flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. The price point is higher than you would pay for a normal soda, but I think that the novelty of the experience is worth it. We had a great time, and would definitely return (I want to see the upper level, too-- that was closed for a private event when we stopped in).
