Asked for a small chocolate cone with a small cup of sprinkles. First they came out with a small cone of vanilla ice cream and a cup of vanilla ice cream. We re-corrected him that we said a CHOCOLATE ice cream cone and then a small cup of sprinkles then he came out with this and we tried to explain to him we are missing a cup with sprinkles and he didn't understand. Usually our family loves Dairy Queen, HOWEVER, we just left there. The three teenage girls just told us they are NOT cooking because it's TOO HOT outside. Therefore, on today, the 4th of July, we cannot get a hamburger or hotdog at an American institution. There were 4 other customers standing there and we all turned around and left!! We won't be stopping there again since this was the second time these kids pulled this. I hope the owner is wanting his DQ to close because these kids will do that. We went to Culver's just a couple blocks down. We are appreciative to these lazy girls!! Because we like Culver's and it's better food anyway!! read more

They aren't doing food right now due to covid, but just got a top notch blizzard. Pretty sure you know what to expect in general, but it tasted fresh and got a good amount of toppings. We were here on Sunday, Labor Day weekend. It was about high noon when we were passing through this town, trying to make our way to Lake Geneva with the rest of them. Traffic was so congested that our speedometer never reached the speed limit. Jason started experiencing a leg cramp and needed the potassium, protein and iron from a banana. That's when he caught a glimpse of the Dairy Queen. We decided right then and there we were making a pit stop. I'm always delighted over how much I enjoy their soft serve chocolate ice cream. It's laughable how it always feels like my first time. That's how much I enjoy it. I think soft serve absolutely tastes better on a cake cone. read more

Love this DQ. Complete with a full grill and fryers, so you can also enjoy burgers, fries, mozzerella sticks and more besides your ice cream. The ice cream is your average DQ ice cream, but if you haven't, try something off the grill. Their burgers are amazing. Only downside to this place is a small seating area, and they're like a lot of other area DQ's that close for the winter. read more

I have been a fan of Dairy Queen blizzards for a long time. But I do not think I will be returning to the DQ in Fox Lake, IL again. The employees are rude. It became apparent where they picked up this trait. The man who appeared to be the owner or general manager (he was in casual attire filling out paperwork and going behind the counter occasionally) was also rude. When my wife asked why they didn't flip the blizzards upside down as done in the advertisements, the man's snotty reply was "Why, do you think it's going to fall out?" We have been to other DQ'S in the area and have not had bad customer service as was given here. On top of that, the candy in the blizzards tasted stale and not up to the standards that we have grown accustomed to from a DQ. We will not be returning to this store. read more

This is our favorite Dairy Queen of all. It's housed in its original building. Usually only open during the summer but I've noticed it's still open and it's the middle of November. We probably get blizzards and pup cups at least once a week in the summer. The staff is efficient. They take your order and have it ready in just a few minutes even when the place is packed. They keep the counters clean also. I can't think of the ice cream, candies, fruits etc being stale as other reviews have mentioned. read more

Took the family here for some blizzards a few nights ago, they didn't flip them (not a big deal, but the kids enjoy that) What bothered me is the girls behind the counter (obviously high school age) were incredibly rude to not only us but each other. It was a very awkward environment because you could clearly see they were both unhappy. Then we sat outside to enjoy our ice cream only to see one of the girls on her phone the whole time right at the front counter and the other girl went & sat at a table with her friends. When we were in like to order, a lady that was already sitting enjoying her ice cream had stepped up to the counter with a question. We were undecided so we politely let her go in front of us. The girl behind the counter said "No she already ordered so what do you want first." I would have left then but we wanted to set a good example of how to be polite & handle situations like this because you won't always be able to get away from rude people. Needless to say, we will always being visiting Lake Zurich location from now on. read more

One of the few locations around that has the food menu and not just treats, but this location doesn't participate in current DQ promotions so if you see something like the $4 Burger & Blizzard offer, you won't get it here. Larry runs a great DQ. We will drive out of our way, and pass other DQ just to go to Larry's. His ice cream is always fresh, and he is always nice to my kids.
