The new frosted animal cracker blizzard is so good! It has crushed up bits of animal crackers in it which gives it a nice crunch. I've always had a good experience here, short wait times, convenient location, and the ice cream is so good. Patio is currently closed for quarantine, but you can still do the drive through, and there's plenty of parking space if you need to park. Tonight we took orders for family members and went to Dairy Queen. The lobby is closed. We went thru the drive thru. When it became our turn, we had a VERY hard time placing our order. The employees did not want to make any changes or exclusions to the menu receipes, and did not hear and/or understand what we asked for. Even tho the drive thru menu and speaker are ten feet from the window! One of the things we wanted was no longer on the menu. So, we settled for a Royal Rocky Road Blizzard. It was actually chocolate ice cream with ALOT of peanuts! Serious disappointment! While we are there at the window, I gave the cashier my card. I noticed that there are 4 people in there working. They were talking about how it was such a bummer that it was only 9:15. I would guess that was because they close at TEN! I have been going to this Dairy Queen my whole life. My husband has a major sweet tooth that sometimes only blizzard can satiate. I'm quite the opposite. I love crunchy and salty snacks. But once I a while a mini blizzard hits the spot. Last night around 8:30 - 9:00 my boyfriend and I went to this dairy queen and what we received made us decide to NEVER go to this one again. My boyfriend ordered the Brownie Oreo Cupfection (which we had from other dairy queens before) but the girls working at the one on 4th barely put any ice cream in it and when he asked to add more they told him no with attitude to say the least. I ordered Strawberry Banana Smooth that they didn't even use actual banana in. They used some type of cream which made my smooth taste disgusting. They are the ONLY DQ I have seen that doesn't use actual bananas. And to top it off, the price compared to other locations was ridiculous. All I know is that this Dairy Queen lost customers. Okay, this post will make it known to all the fatty I am. This is the BEST Dairy Queen in all of Tucson. Their employees are super friendly, speak Spanish and English, and it is in a great location (4th Avenue and 6th Street). After indulging in ice cream you can walk it off by strolling up and down 4th Avenue and taking in the eclectic scenery that this area of town provides you. Now, let me tell you why this is the best DQ in town. First, their cocoa-fudge is not like the others. It is a rich, dark cocoa with a smooth taste to complement most items. Next, this location often has specials and ingredients that other DQ locations around town do not. Just writing this review makes my mouth water. If you're a fellow chocolate lover I'd recommend the Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard or the Royal Ultimate ChocoBrownie Blizzard (there is a treat in the center). My big kid loves the Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Smash Blizzard (just what it sounds like). My little kid gets a vanilla cone dipped in cherry (with a cup for the melting mess that will undoubtedly end up all over her and anything else within reach) and the hubby he will indulge in one of their warmed treats or a S'More Blizzard when it is in season. read more

The high school girls that work here spend the bulk of their shift working non-stop serving families, kids, drunks, "hippies", etc. The service I've gotten has always been friendly, fast, and helpful (I love that they'll fix up a special recipe for you without even batting an eyelash). This Dairy Queen is super small, but it's close to me.The drive through can be a total mess when they're busy. The worst part is there doesn't seem to be a way to fix the problem, they are simply on a tiny lot at a relativley busy intersection. It is the perfect treat when I am stressed or just feel like something sweet. My other favorite, Peanut Buster Parfait, is one of the best damn things on this planet. This Dairy queen has a prime location however they have a poorly designed drive through, as well as poor service. I got a cherry dipped cone and all of the dip was falling off, so they gave me a chocolate dipped on instead and the same thing happened. I was told that i would have to wait until they got a new can of dip but i was in a rush so i just left with the chocolate dipped one. One star because they can do a lot better with what they have.
