I've been coming here for years and I love that there are so many locations now, so you have many choices as to where you can get your ice cream fix! There are many flavor options and even a couple of non-dairy choices. The service is a bit hit-or-miss, and really just depends on the staff there at the time as well as the specific location. Beyond the regular cones and cups they also have some options such as the flight, nachos, and the banana split. They also specific which flavors have gluten. They used to advertise that their dairy came from grass-fed cows, but that stopped a few years ago so I'm guessing that is no longer the case. While that's what caught my attention and actually got me in the door, I've stayed a customer because they do mention that their dairy comes from cows that have not been given antibiotics or hormones. So for those who pay attention to such things, take note! This locations is pretty small but I do like that they have just a couple of outdoor tables with chairs so that I can sit outside when it's nice weather. read more

Oh man, so I really wanted to like this place -- I expected I would based on all the good reviews and have to admit I was partial to the clever name. Sadly I left pretty disappointed. Here's a breakdown of the good and the bad: I liked... - The service -- the woman helping us was sweet and helpful - The wide variety of flavors -- so many fun and interesting options to choose from, truly something for everyone - The dynamic contrast -- the vast majority of flavors had such nice textural contrast between the base and mix-ins, the crunch factor was especially exquisite on the coffee toffee and triple play - The fact that they offered a flight option (small portions of six flavors of your choice) -- a godsend for someone like me who's indecisive and likes to try a bunch of different things (especially handy when sharing), more ice cream places should do this! - The pricing -- the flight we got was just over 10 bucks and was more than enough ice cream for two people, felt very reasonable I wasn't a fan of... I hate to say it, but the ice cream itself! It felt icy and thin, and deeply lacking in that creamy, rich feeling you'd expect when eating really good ice cream. Felt more like sorbet in a way. Another area that we found unappetizing was the odor inside the building; it smelled like sulfur or sewer gas of some kind. The Screamery was different. I always enjoy mom and pop ice cream places and it was fun to try something new. The ice cream itself had a film to it somewhat - I can't put my finger on it but as your eating it there's like a layer of film on the roof of your mouth. They smacked it onto the cone without really trying to make a nice presentation. The strawberry ice cream wasn't sticking very well and I could tell they just gave up trying to serve a proper stack. I carried on and still took it because I personally care more about the flavor than how it looks--I was just bummed they slapped the cone together and didn't care. The strawberry flavor itself was basic, not really anything to get excited about. It was nice that it had real pieces of strawberry but overall just left a weird film on my tongue and just left more to be desired. Their ice cream flavors are creative but there are options for sundaes, milkshakes etc. you can buy ice cream by the pint as well. Ice cream is made locally from scratch with milk and cream. It does taste creamy. I got the orange screamsicle and blueberry cheesecake in pint size to bring home. Both were great. Other family members Lille the lemonilla which is gray and the lavender with honey milkshake. They give a punchcard so you can earn a free scoop of ice cream when you buy about 15 scoops. Disappointing unfortunately. Had heard many great reviews, but I don't think it was worth the price. The quality was almost to the point of it having freezer burn, and generally was too salty. I think the flavor really needs to be there without the chips or toffee pieces mixed in. I did not order the fudge topping since that was an additional $1.25, which seems far too high.
