It's absolutely impossible not wanting to buy the whole store!! There's soooo much to want. If you absolutely have no self-control, be warned! They have action figures, plushies, accessories, hey, even a few kitchen items like mugs! This store is a destination! It's quite crowded too and it's probably like that in all hours they are open so don't worry about coming on a random day, it'll be busy! The cost is appropriate for collectibles. The staff at the register are efficient too.

Was in the area passing by when I saw the shop. It trended for awhile on social media and had been on my bookmark list to go, so I decided to check it out. Bright lights, lots of cool merchandise and happy faces browsing. Lots of cool decors around the shop and I was happy about the Manga panels as wallpaper decors. The ceiling also had a few popular trending anime. Very cool shop. Otaku unite!

Akiba House in Chinatown is bigger than the Flushing location and I really like the setup and cool decor. The game machines in the back are a fun touch. I just wish they had more manga/anime stationery and more options for girls since most items lean toward boys' merch. Overall, great vibe and I would recommend!

Heard many things about Akiba House since its opened & decided to check it out. There was a decent amount of people inside but still plenty of space to move around. You can find a lot of variety here, from things to Sanrio, Pokémon, Naruto, Tototoro, etc. The list goes on and on. There is blind boxes, plushies, books, food and drink, etc. I only saw staff at the front cash register and restocking. I'm sure if you needed help, it would be easy enough to ask. I was browsing to check out the new business. Think it would be a great place to pick up cute gifts or to find different items you won't necessarily see in other stores. It is a convenient location by bus/train. Definitely will be back to look some more in depth when time allows.

Note that I've previously stepped inside the shop to survey the selection, and last night I stopped in for what was only supposed to be a quick moment... The owner greeted me and almost immediately started talking prices. This is $20 dollars and we have that for $25 dollars, but this is a little more expensive, and that's this price. Oh, that fascinator is beautiful on you and you can put it layaway. It was just $79 dollars, mind you. Excuse me? It's such a turn-off when people see brown skin and assume that the purchase would be unaffordable without a payment plan! Not to mention, I started off by noting that I was only taking a quick peek on my way to pick up my Nordstrom purchase. Though I promptly told her that I don't need layaway and I pay for things outright, I had already decided that I wouldn't be buying from there. Her fixation on talking to me about price was all I needed to hear. Nothing disgusts me more than when people make assumptions! I have beautiful vintage hats in my collection, fine jewelry and quality costume jewelry, and beautiful bags that I've purchased abroad. She could've had a repeat customer who prioritizes quality goods and, more importantly, quality service.

I am confident, however, I will find something that appeals to my frugality. I do not know if Muji invented the concept of a brand that is not a brand, in the sense of not advertising itself, which ironically achieves its own iconic minimalist status. They have perfected it though. Last time, I got their 90 degree socks. I actually have concluded it is not a gimmick. I have some socks that slip off, at the heel, in particular if I wear them with runnig shoes. These do not. Everything I have acquired from Muji has gone into my regular rotation. The design is good, the quality is there, and the prices are not outrageous. So I commend Muji to you if you have a similar sense of not wanting to want, but being willing to browse. I'm confident you will find something on every visit.

If I could rate Muji's customer service separately from its products, it would be one star…read more The problem isn't that mistakes happen--it's how Muji handles them. My order arrived with missing items despite paying oversized shipping and waiting days for delivery. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of apologies with almost no action. After nearly a week of emailing back and forth, I was asked to provide my order details again. Why? The entire email trail already contains everything they need. Instead of reviewing the case history, each representative seems to start from scratch, wasting the customer's time because they can't be bothered to read their own correspondence. Muji has mastered the art of apologizing without actually resolving anything. Every response is filled with sympathy and promises to "look into it," yet there is no urgency whatsoever to fix a mistake that was entirely their responsibility. Once they have your money, you're left waiting while your case sits in limbo. For a company that promotes quality and simplicity, their customer service is anything but. Poor communication, zero ownership, endless delays, and customers forced to repeatedly chase for updates. Paying extra for oversized shipping clearly doesn't translate to better service when something goes wrong. If you're lucky enough to receive your order intact, you'll probably have a good experience. But if there's a problem, don't expect Muji to treat it like a priority. Based on my experience, their customer service is all apologies and no accountability.
