Located in the Little Tokyo Market Place in Los Angeles, this instance of Daiso (Japanese version of a dollar store...100 yen) was fully stocked and not too crowded, allowing us time to peruse every aisle independently. As I've noticed, Daiso sells food now, but at higher prices than what you can get at a Japanese grocery store. But where they shine are Japanese themed items (Sanrio is prevalent here though sadly Nintendo is not). For whatever reason, I've started to only buy my kitchen storage bags (e.g. freezer bags) here so stocked up on that. And as mentioned by others, paper products are a great bargain here...picked up a 100 sheet origami pack for only $1.75.

Visiting Daiso is like going on a treasure hunt. Every Daiso has something a little bit different. This Daiso is no different. I was happy to find the shelves well stocked and organized. There were lots of "made in Japan" items which I like. Namely, plastic bins for my pantry, cleaning supplies, and drain covers. Let's just say I found lots of goodies to take home. Score! This location was very busy for a Saturday night. A good sign. Parking is great (1 hr free with validation). LOCATION: 4/5 VALUE: 4/5 AMBIANCE: 4/5 PET FRIENDLY: 4/5 CLEANLINESS: 4/5 PARKING: 5/5

I think this Daiso is one of the biggest that i have been to. Lots of selections from snacks to essential items. Definitely a place to check out if you are near and its your first time

Shopping deals in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles... Located inside the Little Tokyo Mall, this Daiso doesn't disappoint! I somehow found cute knick knacks for my nieces and sisters and a toy for my nephew! Browsing through the office supplies, I can found something for my clerk! I think the socks that you can wear with flip flops are cool and the snacks are fun and different! I like the household items and sometimes the health and beauty sections have a useful item that I could use! Some stores run out of certain merchandise faster than others. I went to several locations to look for chestnuts for my friend, Emi... Sadly, there were none here... On another occasion, I looked for black q-tips for my cousin! Another friend wanted notebooks for her children's artwork! Overall, this is a typical Daiso - well organized, clean, bright, and well stocked! Most things are priced $1.50 unless otherwise marked. I shall return and find more treasures!

I LOVE DAISO!!! They have everything I need all the time. Today I came in for plastic organizers for polymer clay and found two for under $5. I also ended up leaving with a car bumper sticker, tiny plastic crates, and a razor. The prices are great and it's always a great time coming in. Just be careful because it's easy to spend way more than you planned

HOW have I gone this long without reviewing Smarty's!?!?!…read more My daughter and I are Art's biggest fans. Every Thursday (which is when Art gets in his pallets of new inventory), she says to me "Happy Smarty's Day!" You just never know what you are going to find here. We have gotten the following items in the past year or two: a brand new Samsung dishwasher (a model that had only been on the market for five months, new in the box for over $700 off retail price!), a Ninja Creamy ice cream machine, Instant Pot lid that turns it into an air fryer, Dyson and Shark vacuum cleaners for hundreds off list price, deck boxes and hose reels for the backyard, a new microwave, an amazing array of plastic storage bins in all sizes for the garage/storage locker...and that's just off the top of my head! Going to Smarty's is our weekly treasure hunt. More than once, my daughter has bemoaned that she bought something elsewhere only to find it later at Smarty's for a fraction of the price. On the rare occasion that something we bought ended up damaged after we opened the box (which does happen from time to time, given the nature of the business of buying pallets of stuff from Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.), Art has always made good and given us a full refund. I am almost loathe to tell people about this store because I want to keep these amazing, secret deals all to myself, but I also want Art to stay in business forever. Thanks, Art! We'll see you on Thursday! :)

The amount that I love Grocery Outlet, y'all! LOL!…read more I detest shopping but there's something about grocery shopping and getting deals, I very much enjoy taking an edible and spending way more than I should at Grocery Outlet. This particular location in Downtown is a sneaky win! My own bias made me avoid this location thinking it would have hard parking & be a bit dingy but it's honestly SO clean and well organized here. Plus, tons of parking. The Downtown Grocery Outlet may be my new favorite location! I think it's really fun trying all the cool promo items they have here but also finding things I regularly buy (a specific brand of green tea, a specific Korean fancy brand of coffee, really expensive cat foods) at 75% off sometimes - I'm in heaven! You can have fine things at a good price! Grocery Outlet has you covered. Most Grocery Outlets are independently owned so another thing about shopping here, you can feel like you are supporting a good local family. Great deals, great items, I'll obvi be back!

I was reaching for a third drink and wanted to slip one in my back pocket to carry all three. Before I could, some random guy NOT in uniform and doesn't identify himself - aggressively tells me "don't put anything in your pocket! I have workers here in high alert." I assumed he was the manager and assured him I'm not stealing and that I always shop here. He shrugs it off and walks away. Yes it looked like I could have been stealing but he could have at least communicated more respectfully. What a bad interaction. I put back the drinks and left.
