They are overcharging on unmarked items. Picked up several items at store as I was rung up I noticed that one of my items was ringing up higher than the other items. The cashier or mgr on duty acknowledged the pricing error and would not honor the incorrect pricing listed on the item which is a huge issue. If there's no sticker or clear pricing of the item with the yen symbol it's 1.50 but she refused to sell me the items I picked up or adjust the price me knowingly not trying to make a scene left angry at the experience being rip off. The store number does not work at all and mo possible way to contact corporate. All I can do is file a weights and measures report. Little tokyo mall is just a name with abandoned shops. I heard about Daiso stores from a youtuber I watch but we don't have them where I'm from so when I found out there was one in LA I knew I had to visit when I was in town. We walked from the Little Tokyo Mall. We had parked there to check out the mall at first but then I looked up how close Daiso was and we just decided to walk. It probably took about 10/15 minutes to get there on foot. You can get your parking validated though if you park in the parking garage attached to Daiso and the other shoppes there. The store was so cute. It was like visiting a real life Epcot Japan Pavilion but everything was reasonably priced and I will actually use some of this stuff (other stuff... not so much). The prices are great for so much being a $1.50. I bought a couple of halloween things for 3 dollars. The cashiers are so nice they ask you if the extra price is okay. Which honestly... if I was buying that at home goods or hobby lobby the price probably would have been at least 4 times that just because. I grabbed some random cleaning sponges and a couple of reusable bags. I couldn't leave the store of course without getting some Pocky! Even though they do sell it at Costco by my house. I wish I had one close to me because I would go back and grab some bigger items to help organize my house... but I can't fit those in my suitcase. Oh well... Daiso - Discount Store Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Daiso is a great chain that I only WISH was available in the northeast. This particularly Daiso is located inside the Little Toyko Marketplace, like a shopping mall. The shopping mall reminds me a lot of the New World Mall in Flushing, NY. The mall contains a lot of Asian themed restaurants, small boutique stores and a grocery. I think right now the closest store to NJ is Dallas (which isn't close at all). Most things in the store are $1.50; a few items are priced as marked. It's just a really great dollar store for all kinds of kitchenwares, bath, beauty, etc. You can buy pretty much all the little knick knacks you could ever need. I think this store didn't seem to have as much inventory as the store I had visited in Torrance but maybe that was a fluke. The store hours of each location seemed to vary because at 8PM it seemed some stores were closed or closing soon and some seemed to be open late. I would recommend checking individual store hours before making your visit to this mall. read more

Been procrastinating on this review since this store opened. Finally a Daiso in Liittle Tokyo - very appropriate! Considering all the little touristy overpriced variety stores they have in or near Japanese Village, this one's by far the best and at $1.50 for almost everything in the store (the higher priced amounts are pretty reasonable for whatever item that may be). It's a good thing! It's your typical Daiso, got lots of cute quality knick knacks, kitchenware, home stuff, stationary/crafts, gadgets, etc. It's in a good location too. Why didn't it get 5 stars from me? (Here we go!): Because the other Daiso stores like Monterey Park (both of them), Hacienda Heights, Gardena are much bigger and have more items. Kind of felt deprived because it's in a huge ghost town of a mall, that it would have been much bigger, like the store upstairs on top the Japanese market - I don't understand how that store stays in business, it's always empty every time I've gone. Because it is downtown, you have to remember to bring your bags or pay 10 cents for their ugly paper bags. Or if they have them on hand, $1.50 for the little selection of compact shopping bags (they run out fast). I don't understand why they don't carry an abundance of them, in a city that enforces the plastic bag ban. Would have been great if it was accompanied by 85c Cafe & Bakery - they all pretty much seem to be next to each other, it's strange being Little Tokyo it just obviously makes perfect sense and my God their coffee and baked goods are the best!! The ever-changing Little Tokyo Mall at 3rd and Alameda (Yaohan Plaza when I was a lad), is constantly reinventing itself (new Korean supermarket, bowling alley and arcade, AYCE BBQ, Dim Sum place), and one of the latest newcomers is this huge Daiso which took over two or three storefronts on the mall's first floor. If you are a Daiso fan, be sure your monocle is firmly affixed to its chain, as it will certainly pop off when you see this most ginormous Daiso. The biggest I've ever seen. It's got everything you want, from Japan, and almost every single item in the store is $1.50. Chair socks? Yes. Kabuki mask? Car air freshener? Dress shirts? Yes, yes and yes. I challenge you to enter and not find at least 10 items to buy. iPhone 6+ charger cord? Yes. This particular Daiso is immaculate and there's plenty of room to roam. Compared to other narrow-aisled Daisos (I'm talking to you, Monterey Park), you'll feel like you are in Daiso stadium. Daiso validates, and the mall parking lot accepts multiple validations from different merchants. End up at the supermarket and you will have had an awesome and satisfying day. read more

This location is one of my favorite Daiso stores because it has a larger selection and the shelves are nicely organized and displayed! I'm a sucker for cute, Japanese things.. especially stationary, office supplies, containers, snacks, and other cute things! I love Daiso. This one is roomy and less claustrophobic than most Daisos. They also have items they don't have at some of the smaller Daisos. They had a huge selection of holiday goods. This may be the place to go if you are decorating a classroom or office and you need some cheap cute holiday stuff. Like most stores in the plaza, they charge 10 cents a plastic bag, so bring your own totes if you plan to stock up. read more

Who doesn't love Daiso? I am such a fan of this store, as it brings out the impulse buyer in me (we all have this deep down inside of us... at the 99 Cent Store or the gum at the check out at the grocery store... yep we all have it). Well this location is located in the Little Tokyo Galleria Market Mall, specifically right in front of the Woori Market (This place will validate your parking but I always park at the market). Anyways, this Daiso is pretty big and very well organized with clean aisles. On this visit, I only purchased 4 items (really had to contain myself as I really wanted to purchase more things... things that my husband refers to as clutter). With a $10 minimum for credit card transactions, I paid cash since I didn't have quite enough. And luckily for me, I had a plastic bag in my purse to put my items. If you don't have a bag, you can either carry your items away in your arms or purchase a paper bag for $0.10 (almost every city now is charging for bags now... just put a plastic bag or two in your purse or a small reusable bag for those just in cases). read more

I go here all the time to supply myself for my scrapbook hobby and they have literally everything that one could ever need!!! Daiso....Japan's Dollar Tree! This is a larger sized Daiso with a lot to choose from. YOur $20 will go far here. :) Sections include, household cleaning, dishes, arts and crafts, cheap terrible toys (avoid!), socks, snacks, bento (good stuff to choose from), pets stuff. It's all here but it can be a little disorganized and messy. Everything is $1.50 with a few exceptions. The cashiers are not very with it, can't really help you find anything. And the check out line is long and moves slow. But you get what you pay for and dang, you can get a lot of junk here. I love it. read more

i always visit this Daiso whenever i'm in Little Tokyo. I know they just opened this place so it's a little small and doesn't have all the things I usually find at the one in Torrance, but it'll do for now especially since I don't wanna drive all the way to Torrance every time I need something. The staff is very friendly at this location. Always coming up to me whenever I look lost. The store is always stocked with items I need. The 5 stars is for all the Daiso Japan locations I've visited. I have no major complaints but a minor complaint that there isn't any returns or exchanges policy. So is you're not sure about a measurement of something or dimension DON'T buy til you're for sure. This sucks too because there has been times I wasn't sure left went back to the store another day and the item isn't there. I've revisited same location or another searching for a particular item and no luck. A few days ago I went to Daiso in getting a few items. A young male cashier ... I don't know what he did while I was bending over my knees to pick up my coin that I accidentally dropped. He threw away a ball point pen that almost hit my face my left eye area. He tried to argue with me as I said to him "You almost hurt me. Watch out to what you are doing" instead of his apology. I didn't allow that young boy to use excuses in keeping saying bs. I just finished my check out in silence and left this store immediately. Probably one of the better daiso locations I've been to. It's surprisingly big and is fully stocked with random $1.50 things that you don't really need but feel like you definitely do when you're in the store. Parking - convenient. Park in the structure and don't forget your validation! If you park in the lot then you need to get it validated by the woori market. Service - people are quite nice here but it's hard to find someone walking about the store but if you wander around you eventually find what you're looking for. Daiso is just fun to browse through and you'll leave the store having bought a few things at least. This location is pretty big and spacious, but I think it's pretty much the same items as their other locations. One thing I did not find at two locations was a musubi maker, which I bought before, but they did have sushi makers. Some snack/candy prices went up, so it may or may not be cheaper than some items at the nearby Japanese markets...it might be some cents cheaper at Daiso if I remember correctly. Finally, Daiso open a store in Little Tokyo! Took them long enough to put one in here finally, this is great for local who live in DTLA or surround area. Daiso is a slight more upscale of 99 cents store; item here are more style and better package. The biggest caviar is the store no return policy, which is rare to see in many major retailer. Daiso does enforce many policy that isn't usual, also to use your credit card (Master and Visa only) need to be over $10 purchased. Some of the item they got are super cheat, tablet tennis racket for only $1.50 still. I just wow myself in some of the item, but aware that few item is actually cheaper in 99 cents store... So keep that in mind. Daiso item was able to offer this low price is because is nearly everything is made in China. But they had direct contract with the manufactory to cut cost and no middle man. Huge selection of funky Japanese knick knacks, useful items from kitchen to bath, snacks ,electronics, etc. Daiso has them all rolled up into a cool brightly lit store with most items being $1.50 !!
