    Gift card envelope

I love this store! I just revisited after a decade. So glad the store is still there. Got really pretty hanbok cards & gift card envelopes. One of the hanbok cards stands up, so i would look for the writing on the back (see pic for highlighted part).

Located on the second floor of Koreatown Galleria, this adorable store sells cute Korean stationeries. They even have $1 section outside the store. I bought some stickers, notepads and even a whistle. A whistle? Yep...in case of emergency and it's only $1. It's almost the same quality as Morning Glory and not as cute as Sanrio.

Can we just take a moment to talk about how awesome this place is? it doesn't matter your age, they have something for everyone here. Korean stationaries, line friends and kakao merch. Phone cases, etc. They have so many cute things here, I didn't want to leave the store. The shop is located on the 2nd floor of Koreatown Galleria. The employee inside the store was very nice, offered me help but didn't hound me by trying to sell me anything. The store is a little small and cramped, hence the 4 stars. But I will definitely come and visit again when I'm in the area.

Small store with a bunch of little items

Not a bad place to come for stationery and little gifts. They appear to have a pretty big assortment of items when you walk into the store, but more often than not, we leave here without buying anything. The employees are nice and always offer to help you find something. They have phone cases here, but most of which are too pricey. If you're in the area, its not a bad stop, but don't go out of your way to come here. Not really worth it.

Such a nice selection of greeting cards and Made in Korea merchandise!

I was inside the Koreatown Galleria Mall on Wednesday (yesterday) to grab a bowl of hangover soup and along the way, I noticed some adorable greeting cards and cute stuffed animals. After my meal, I walked to this shop and noticed more cute novelties and decided to start shopping since a friend of mine has a birthday this week. After choosing a birthday card and some Made In Korea animal socks, I left quite pleased with the overall experience. Even the customer service was friendly and welcoming as the lady was quite enthusiastic and happy to help with my purchases. She greeted each customer walking into the shop so the environment felt relaxed and pleasant.

So I was on the quest to find a new phone case for my S3, and I know there was a kiosk on the lower level of the mall selling cases, but they all looked bland. The guy recommended this place-- and sure enough, when I walked in, there was a WHOLE WALL of random, scattered (yet organized by phone) wall of phone cases. Also, they have those phone charms you plug into your audio jack http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/young-art-america-los-angeles?select=qVson2QospBuxNG_KCOc0w#qVson2QospBuxNG_KCOc0w (ex: hairbows, bunnies, bears, misc rhinestone-studded items)! Sometimes those are hard to come by, but there was quite a vast selection here! Sure enough, I left this store with a new jelly phone case (made in Korea) + rhinestone bunny charm phone jack for under $25. I also saw a Marc Jacobs phone case for $17... seems like a good deal!! See, lots of misc items here. You just might get lucky. Don't get scared off by the "kid" vibe; you are bound to find something here!!

    Step your chopstick game up.

The store is located at the Row DTLA, which is a recently renovated shopping area. I'm generally not a big fan of downtown, but this place was really nice. It felt safe and there was plenty of parking. Overall I would definitely recommend Hightide for stationary shopping. Pros: -Great section of unique products. -The store has a fun vibe -Plenty of parking. 2 hours free. -Located in a nice shopping area. Cons -some of their products like the pen cases are a bit too expensive in my opinion. -it is a small space so it can get crowded during peak shopping hours.

[What to expect]: A classic Japanese stationery shop with notebooks, specialty pens, planners, bags, etc. They carry brands like Hobonichi and Penco. I does feel a bit too spaced out and I wish the shelves were a bit higher. I can understand the shelves being low as a way to deter theft, but maybe towards the center of the store they could be higher. I came a few days after the grand opening and it was packed. Plenty of selection, but the prices of books once again were a bit too much compared to other places. Love the store, worth visiting if you're in the little tokyo area.

This new space is absolutely massive and beautifully spread out! Walking inside instantly triggered so much nostalgia for the cute little bookstores and stationary shops I visited when I was in Japan. Everything is so neatly arranged and wrapped. They have an incredible selection of books in both English and Japanese. Seriously, they have everything you can think of: manga, magazines, cookbooks, adorable plushies, stationery, and T-shirts. When we went, they even had some amazing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure artwork on the wall and tons of Pokémon merch. My friend and I stopped by right after the anime convention ended, and the place was packed. Because it gets so busy, they have a strict "no drinks" policy, resulting in a hilariously massive pile of boba and coffees left at the front entrance. The employees seemed overwhelmed & nobody greeted us. My only real critique: Prepare yourself for the price tags. Everything is extremely overpriced. I saw a pretty basic black T-shirt featuring a famous Japanese artist's work going for $60. I get that it's specialty import stuff, but it's definitely an investment! Tip: It's a fantastic place to visit, but if you want to actually browse the Studio Ghibli or anime sections without fighting a crowd, try to come during the week!

I had the pleasure of also utilizing their gift wrapping services, which is also something I highly recommend. They have some wonderful choices in the store, but you can also bring your own, which I definitely did. I love how all the prices are clearly labeled for every item even the smallest of attachments.
