Oh Daiso, I am glad you are in a location closer to me so I don't have to make a pilgrimage to Torrance to get my cute and cheap Japanese household items. After having brunch in the area, we made a quick (okay, somewhat quick) stop here for some browsing. Well, with stores like these, browsing doesn't stay browsing for long. We lasted about 5 mintues in, oh boy. My friend that I took here is really into making bento, and she was overjoyed that she could expand her toolkit. She was in the kitchen implements isle, picking up item after item saying, "want" and then immediately stuffing it in her handbasket. LOL as with myself, we had to keep each other in check, as in, "Do I really NEED this item?!" XD This store is jam packed with items, and since it was a weekend... jam packed with people. Navigating the store was physically difficult, I can't imagine a person in a wheel chair doing well in that store. It was seriously fire hazard full, with the line to the cashiers wrapping around the store about 20+ deep, kid you not. :( So I guess, you'll fare better trying during the weekday hours. This Daiso is medium sized. It is very busy. Its crowded. I kept walking into people here because the aisles are so small. The place is constantly being stocked. I like the stock of notebooks! They always have the hair clips I like. I usually just buy things here that I often lose (like bobby pins) or need only for a little while (like flash eyelashes). Daiso is definitely a fun place to explore! So many random things you want to buy. Why go to target to spend $30 for six items, when I can come here and get 15 items instead! But I like it because it has covered parking and it is nearby good dim sum (NBC! oh yes!) and I like going after tea time! Yeahhhh...Daiso in MPK ! This place is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ! This is like the japanese version of dollar trees or a mini chinatown ! LOL The shelves are filled with all sorts of household items and cute stuff. If you only have a couple of bucks and need a tiny tea pot, cell phone holder, banana holder, etc (you get the idea), Daiso is the perfect shop. The quality is what one can expect from a place where most items are $1.50. It is conveniently located inside the Atlantic Times Square plaza, so you can stroll in after dinner or while waiting for a table at curry house. Only drawback is the size of the store ... its smaller than most Daiso i've visited (i guess "size does matter" lol) Definitely should visit this store, again it is AMAZING! read more

The Japanese dollar tree store! (Not really a dollar. It's 1.50) I love daiso because they have pretty cute stuff and cool kitchen items such as a musubi maker or colorful selections of pens and pencils. The only thing you have to be careful is that, although it's a Japanese store, everything is made in China. So, don't expect for certain items to be of quality. It's cheap but there are drawbacks. Also, they have a lot of great Japanese snacks so if you crave pocky, buy them here because it's pretty cheap! (They have green tea pocky which is my favorite) Oh, and they don't allow you to use a debit card unless your total is 10 dollars or more. And don't forget that there are no exchange or returns because obviously if they allowed that, they'd lose money. I've heard many good things about the Daiso located in Irvine, so when one opened up in Atlantic Time Square, I decided to bring my sister and mom along to check it out. Needless to say, it wasn't a great trip. It was incredibly crowded. The aisles are really narrow and there are so many people looking at random things that it's hard to get by. I think that everybody who eats nearby hears about this $1.50 store, so naturally they want to take a look and see what's so great about this place. Most items are $1.50, but there are certain items that are priced as marked. They have a lot of random things like trashcans, tupperware, random make-up and make-up accessories, Japanese snacks, car fresheners, accessories, and even glasses cases! My mom said a few things here are cheaper than in Hong Kong, and most of the stuff are actually labeled "made in Japan." We left before walking through the entire store, but ... there was just too many people. Will probably come back on a day when I have more time to browse. Cash only unless over $10. read more

I fell in love with Daiso when I was in Japan. Then I went to Seattle and found one there. I'm super excited they now have one in LA. It is a Japanese version of a 99 cents store, but everything is $1.50 or above. You can find almost everything there for cheap. Tupper ware, dishes, gifts, school supplies, kitchen ware, bathroom amenities, beauty produces...etc. There's so many things, that they had to make enough aisle to store everything, making the aisle so small it's hard to walk pass people. Signs around the store inform you that items in the store are priced at $1.50 unless noted. I thought for sure there would be plenty of exceptions, no sir. Most of the store truly is that cheap! You can pick up stuff for virtually any occasion and not feel bad since it's not a Dollar store, it's Japanese! Come for all your basic office supplies, cheap flip flops, wrapping paper, cheap cosmetics, and all kinds of quirky toys and nick knacks. Worth the visit. Hoarders beware! This place ain't for you~ I was surprised to stumble upon this place while walking around Atlantic Square. I was completely overjoyed when I walked in and a bit overwhelmed. I didn't know where to start! So many cute things that I wanted but not necessarily need. The price didn't help either, $1.50 for everything (unless marked) ?!?! WHAT! Their kitchen supplies & stationary aisles were the best in my opinion, everything else was just meh. When i came the day after its grand opening ther was already a line outside to get in, but it went by quick though (: I bought 2 packs of BB cream face masks (4 masks), a fake eyelash case, a grey eyebrow pencil, 2 facial cleansing scrublets , a pack of pore strips, and a box of fake lashes and it came with 2 pairs! all for just $10-12 bucks! it was a great steal! they sell many cute things including dinner ware, containers and car accessories as well as kitchen supplies. A little Mayhem but lots of bargain. I love shopping at Daiso. Most of the items are $1.50 which is more than other bargain stores but their stuff are much better. Japanese life hacks can be found quite useful for such a low price. The range from gardening, kitchen, closet, office, stationary, cosmetics it is literally one of the most fun place to shop. They don't take return or exchange so be sure to check the items you pick up free from defects, open or missing signs. One thing I must say is that the customers can be a little bit overwhelming and rude. Often times, I see them placing things on shelves in different aisle because they decide not to buy it. They also flip through the whole space of the same item and causing a mess just to pick out the one packaging that looks less wrinkle. Lastly, customer with kids... they are something. The children runs around playing while family members shop and scream for them to come back. The space is quite narrow and I fear running my hand crate into others. Everything is $1.50 plus tax unless otherwise stated!! There is a $10 minimum limit for credit cards. This Daiso is located off the 10 at Atlantic Blvd, inside the Atlantic Times Square. It's that plaza with Tasty Garden, 24 Hour Fitness, an AMC Theatre, etc. They have lots of restaurants and entertainments!!! This place is small, compared to other Daiso places, but very clean and aisles can get cramped up. Opening up a Daiso here was a smart business move. It's pretty small, but for the space that this complex allows, I thought it was pretty good. They open at 10am. I came at 11:30 and it was pretty packed. You couldn't walk down the aisle without bumping into someone. The BF and I came here while waiting for our movie time. So many knick knacks and we walked out buying $14 of random stuff. Some candy, fingerless gloves, air pump, batteries, table cloth, white board, air freshener... O_O. They have some really adorable stuff. I wish I was still in school so I can buy all those pens, pencil pouches, notebooks and storage stuff. Haha... Also, you have to spend at least $10 to use credit card but if you pay with debit card, there is no minimum charge. Very interesting.... Also, checkout lady made it very clear there was no refund or exchanges. But for $1.50... I'm not complaining. I've been to the Daiso in Torrance and it's pretty much the same. I think the Torrance one is bigger. HOWEVER, I've also been to the Daiso in Harajuku, Japan. That one is 4 stories tall and they have stuff for 100yen that is beyond your wildest imagination. I'm a total fan of Daiso and have been to 6 of their locations. Ironically, this one, the one closest to my home, is the one I like the least. The hot items are off the shelves as soon as they are stocked and there is just too many people in there whenever its open. Be it the plaza or Daiso, it gets so bad that I've given up on going altogether when I couldn't find parking. Other than that, I don't have a problem with this store. My experiences with the employees have been great. I've asked them to open packages to see products and if items were in stock; I haven't gotten any dirty looks or attitude from the staff. read more

Everything for 150 snacks for one dollar it is easy to go crazy here. So much more different than the dollar store this place has great packaging and very cute items. If your Asian I think it is easy to visit this place every week! Most of the items if you really look at it is not great in quality but I think it's easy to overlook that when it's cute and cheap. Just beware of the glass area as there is very little walking space and a lot of people hopefully you don't break any because you may have to buy it after. Don't come here with a big bag because you will be carrying a basket in hand and it's just hard to navigate. The cashier area is also pretty tight so decide what you want before you get to the register as it is hard to come back out and get something if you change your mind. Minimum credit card $10. okay so this place sells things mostly for $1.50. i usually come around this plaza with my friends and we love going around this place and checking it out. they have unique items for extremely cheap prices, i'm actually surprised how they stay in business! i'm not complaining but i really do love this store and would be so disappointed if it was gone. usually, i come here to buy stationary and snacks. mostly snacks, since i love food... well, the snacks here are a lot different than most places. but they're really good. truthfully, i tend to sneak in pocky, hi-chew, and chocolate mushrooms in the theaters nearby...it's a lot easier buying cheap candy instead of buying food at the theaters. i'm a bad person. ._. read more

FINALLY there's a Daiso within what I consider reasonable driving distance! I love squandering money on junk, preferably cute junk, and Daiso has lots of that. Pricing almost everything at $1.50 makes people not have to think that hard about whether or not they want to buy something even though the total can add up quickly. The stuff they carry is super random, but that just makes it more fun. This location is pretty big and I like this shopping center, so it's convenient. Retail Rule 101: Open your store in a shopping center with a ton of food. Not sure if that's true actually, but I always walk around before/after eating. read more

We had just been to several DAISO stores in Tokyo in Oct and loved them. So I was excited to hear from a friend that we had them here too! Monterey Park is the closest from us in Burbank so I went! If you haven't been, it's like the 99 Cent stores but better with Japanese merchandise and almost everything is $1.50! It was fabulous and I felt like I was back in Japan. There was 99% of the same merchandise and even J-Pop music playing throughout the store. I spent a blissful 2 hrs walking every aisle. This is my first review on Yelp and I had to leave this chance to Daiso I shopped all the time. Overall, I don't have any bad experience at this store so I decided to leave a 2-star. I went to the store in the afternoon on 04/04/2020 because my friends told me that they had face masks in stock. When I got there, I asked a store manager SHU?(it is such a shame we had a similar first name!!!!Her jacket covers her name tag and I cannot catch it) if there are some masks available in Mandarin, because she is talking in Mandarin. She told me only children face masks were available. I was so excited because my friends are looking for those. So I crabbed 6 packs (there were still many left). Then the manager started yelling at me in a really loud voice and everyone can hear that in the store. I was totally shocked. I knew it was a difficult time but I searched all the signs in store and NO SIGN said limited order for face mask. To keep a good manner, I didn't say anything and just grabbed two for my friends. I cannot believe this is what happened in Daiso. Even though everyone is stressed out due to covid-19, it is not the way to treat your customer. And we are mistreated due to your mistake!!!!!!!Why don't you tell your customer the limited order requirement for face mask????? To make a simple sign will save a lot of your energy to yell at your customers. Or yelling at customers is new marketing strategy for Daiso in 2020?? P.S: SHU?, it is a really bad marketing strategy to put cloth gloves on the first shelf in Aisle 3, the one of the most prominent places in the store. We are not short for that. Comparing this location to the other Daiso Stores, this place is Small. The aisles are very narrow. You'll be bumping to a lot of people or things no matter where you turn. They only accept CASH if you are spending less than $10. Other than that, I'm so happy there's a Daiso nearby. Basically this is the Cutesy Version of an American 99 Cents Store. The Daiso chain is a Japanese themed, made in China, $1.50 all-you-can-purchase store with contents of variable quality that compares favorably with your local Dollar Tree or 99 cent only. The big difference being a huge selection of household goods and Asian-themed knick-knacks. This is the first Daiso to open in SGV and judging by the pent-up demand and constant traffic here, it certainly won't be the last. I'm subtracting a couple stars only because the Torrance location and one in San Francisco I've visited are so far superior to this place. Wider aisles, better selection, friendly service, and not having to literally climb over people to grab that $1.50 box of Q-tips you are eyeballing. As a dude, this location is a fun spot to traverse for about 5 minutes. We happened to stumbled onto this place after getting some drinks at Tea Station. What a pleasant find! Reminds me of when I was in Daiso in Japan last month :) For the most part, everything is $1.50. Obviously it's not cheaper than the 99 cent/dollar tree stores. However, the quality is much better. The items are cuter. And some things you just cant find at the other stores (i.e. we bought a steam egg porcelin cup). Definitely will be back again! Most items are $1.50! Parking can be a nightmare or really easy depending on the day and time . The plaza is all underground parking that gets FILLED up sometimes. This location is probably one of the worst locations if you're claustrophobic. The aisles are TINY where even 2 people will have trouble walking past each other. I get so afraid to walk by the kitchen items (glass plates, cups, etc) towards the end because i feel like i'm going to swing over and my purse will knock it down. The "you break you buy" thing really doesn't fly with me in this store. MAKE YOUR AISLES BIGGER !! I'm super glad this place opened. I would give it 4.5 stars mainly because the aisles can get so narrow with SO many people on the opening day. Where is the crowd control? I looked at where the products are made and most of them are from Japan, Korea, or China. This easily is the 'Dollar Store/99 cents store of the East'! I'm super glad they had 'trendier' or more recent electronic accessories like USB cords, USB car chargers, and screen protectors (YAY, no more waiting on Ebay and INSTANT gratification!). This is definitely a place to just window shop and find reasons to buy things! With $1.50 for most items, how can you go wrong? The only bad side is -- no returns, no refunds, and no exchanges?! This is such a strict policy, but just make sure you are buying things you truly need! They also sell higher-priced items but they are clearly marked :) I will definitely come back! Daiso!! I love Daiso! It's like a Japanese Dollar Tree except everything is $1.50 unless a different price is stated on the item. They sell everything from school supplies to office supplies, from kitchen ware to outdoor ware, and from make up care to facial care! Like everyone has mentioned in previous reviews for this place, this is the Japanese version of the 99 cent store, but is priced higher at $1.50 (only a small number of items cost more, but is labeled so). And just like your impulse behavior at the 99 cent store, you will repeat those behaviors here. This store is fun to just browse through the many different aisles and sections. But the aisles are a bit overly crowded. The location in Irvine (which is ALWAYS crowded) has large room between aisles, which I prefer. But anyways, during my most recent trip (this past Sunday), I came in here with my mother and husband. I was really good at restraining myself from buying anything, but my mother definitely bought more items than she was planning on buying (that 99 cent store impulse behavior is hard to break). But even though the line was a bit long, it moved along just fine and quick. So she didn't really wait too long. I also really liked that the employee that my mom spoke to (initially when we came in) was very helpful and trying to help her find a particular item. She spoke perfect English and was just very friendly and cheery (5+ stars just for her). Overall, love coming to this store but just wished the aisles were just a little bit wider. By the way, parking is either on the street (30 minutes, but doubt any one really enforces that here) or in the structure. Also there is a $10 minimum for credit card transaction. Even though I live in Irvine - yes, I STILL have yet to go to the Irvine location - I LOVE THIS PLACE despite the long distance. Everything hear just screams "BUY ME! BUY ME!" All items are $1.50 except for marked items. If I ever get a chance to own a place of my own, I would definitely come by here for their household products. There's cute cooking utensils, where you can make cute-sized sushi rolls, and even shape your food! This is great for cooking for younger kids or even for your loved ones. This might be the busiest Daiso I have ever been to after being in maybe 5 other Daiso's. It's always packed with people wandering around the aisles, from children to the elderly. The biggest problem I have with this Daiso is that the employees don't upkeep and restock as much as they should. I came looking for something one day and couldn't find it. I came back a week later and looked like nothing was restocked. How are you going to make business when items are not available? Unless they're absolutely out, then I suggest them call up the warehouse to bring more items because it is crazy. read more

It's like a Japanese $0.99 store except everything, for the most part, is a $1.50... Anything and everything from Japanese pens/pencils, ties, phones, cooking utensils, neckties, lunchboxes, etc... Name it and they probably have it. Just to give you an example of what they sell at Daiso is what I bought that day: a nail clipper "for men", a plastic pasta container, strawberry Hi-Chews, strawberry milk candy... Total was $6 and change... I kind of wish they had more snacks. I was expecting/hoping for Japanese Kit-Kat flavors but they didn't have any at all. Bummers! They had Pocky but just the standard flavors.... Located in an outdoor mall/residential complex at Atlantic Blvd & the 10 East Fwy. Parking is kind of a pain but it's free...
