How does one go wrong with $1.50 ANYTHING?! I mean yeah, the 0.99 cent store is amazing, but the stuff you can get in here actually last a while instead of break after the first use. LOL. I love this store. It's kind of like a brighter and cleaner 0.99 cent store. Majority of the items are from Japan and are actually made specifically for Daiso. This Daiso in particular isn't too big, but i bet that you're still gonna end up leaving spending more than $10. I mean its just so easy to spot something and grab it. :) I love this place. This is the 99 cent store Japan version! Everything in the store is $1.50 unless told otherwise. Everything seems of higher quality. I usually like to come here to browse around for something that catches my attention but beware you might want to take everything in the store. They usually have stock for every holiday so you'll always find something new. They have cute gift bags. They have a dog section. With leashes and toys so I have bought some stuff for my dog here. I always get a pack of Poki sticks but they are $1.75 it's ok they are delicious. The reason I don't give it a 5 star it's because when I used to come to the college behind the store I bought pens that did not work. They looked like they would but they didn't. They have good facial masks that are worth buying even some make up. read more

This place is like the Japanese version of the Dollar Store or the $1 section at Target, but WAY better. I mean, the Japanese pride themselves on packaging, which I love. Not only is the location jam-packed with small parking spaces, but the store itself is pretty small so their inventory is very limited as well. Sometimes I would go in knowing exactly what I wanted since I got it from there at a previous time, but then they wouldn't have that particular item anymore! I think I would much rather go down the street to the Daiso near the freeway to get my goods than this one just for the mere fact that there is less inventory and less variety. read more

Daiso is basically like 99 cents version of store but has Asian influence. The company is own by mega chain from Japan. They had pop out everywhere in Socal and a lot of store are located in 626. In fact there are 2 store in Monterey park alone. This location is better than the one in Atlantic Plaza since is noticeable less crowded and a lot easier to find parking and walking from your where your park. Daiso carry a lot daily essential stuff that you might need. However just aware the quality isn't that great and the no return policy isn't helpful. But most case I do satisfied with product here and just a lot of time item are always changing and moved around so can be hard to located or restock. read more

Wouldn't recommend this place, bought a black board and a marker to go with it but upon opening the marker, there was a missing tip making the marker unusable and useless. I don't understand why they have 2 Daiso locations in Monterey Park and they are only about 5 minutes driving time from each other. The aisles are bigger, the place seems brighter and it's not so stuffy inside compared to its Atlantic Square older sister location. I like this location better especially after going Atlantic Square Daiso right before coming here. Located right next to Q Bargain, this Daiso shares the same outdoor parking lot as Sav-On Drugs. I feel bad for Q Bargain because Daiso is way better and only $0.50 more expensive than Q Bargain. Daiso in order of my preference: Gardena, Torrance, Monterey Park (60 fwy), Hacienda Heights, Artesia, Monterey Park (10 fwy) and San Francisco (Japantown). Temple City just had its Daiso grand opening on August 31st. We have too many Daiso stores in San Gabriel Valley; they should probably open Daiso in Inland Empire or San Fernando Valley. Or maybe closer to Eastern San Gabriel Valley(West Covina near 10 fwy) instead of another one in Western San Gabriel Valley. 4 stars!! I am a fan but they are expanding too fast in the same area. I fell in love with this place the moment I walked through that door! Everything is so well organized and colorful. I love it!! You can find everything in this location. Anything from cleaning supplies, home decor, stationary things and snacks etc. I'm a stationary freak so I soon as I saw all those cute little pens, notepads and erasers, I definitely had to purchase some. Good thing I have some type of self control, otherwise I would have purchased one of everything! I used to love coming to Daiso bc of the friendly service and I would spend usually an hour getting lost in the cute things that they sell. Today when I was excited to go shopping again at this location, but I had to use the bathroom before I can relax and spend another hour buying cute things. When I asked the staff politely about using the bathroom and he just looked at me blank and said we don't offer bathroom, I explained to him that I was just here 2 days ago and the staff let me use it without any problem, but then he just said no, they are not suppose to do that It's an inconvenience when you don't let customer use the bathroom, on top of that with a bad attitude made it worse. OMG! Daisso!! Another ONE in MPK! I love it! This Daiso comparable to the Atlantic Square one has a lot more space and I want to say they have more variety! I don't feel like I'm a snow plower by plowing through the lanes and saying excuse me every freakin 30 seconds. They have an assortment of stuff such as school supplies, washi tape, bento boxes, cleaning supplies to kitchen supplies to storage supplies to make up to i dunno what else and MOST of the stuff is only $1.50! There are some other items, but they are tagged, I think the most I saw anything was $2 for a cute water jug like the ones that are served for soju but with a cap! :) For someone who loves arts and crafts, this is a dream come true store for you as they have assortment of origami papers, pens, tape, markers, paints & brushes, cards and so much more. Most items are $1.50, but NOT everything! Daiso = Asian DOLLAR TREE! This Daiso must have recently opened not too long ago because it is the most organized and emptiest Daiso I have ever been in. Seriously, I could barely maneuver my way around the crowds at the one in Atlantic time Square and the one in Hacienda Heights. Daiso, as a whole, carries a bunch of awesome products from kitchenware, school supplies, cosmetics, snacks, and so much more! From just roaming the aisles alone, there are just soo many cute, cool, and creative items that I could not resist but to buy. I just wonder how the discount store next door can compete with such an awesome and well established store like Daiso. My ultimate favorite item that they carry would be the USB iphone charger ($1.50) and car charger ($4). I just think it is such a great deal compared to the ones I had bought elsewhere and these work just as good! As many of the yelpers had stated, there is indeed TWO Daiso in MPK! This Daiso is located on Atlantic and Cesar Chavez, whereas, the other one is at the Atlantic times square on the corner of Atlantic and Hellman. They are both the same. One just targets the ELAC students (Since the school is right across the street) and the other targets the the Atlantic Times square shoppers. i must say i am shocked that they opened another Daiso in Monterey Park, but at the same time I am glad because that means I can probably find stuff here that the other Daiso may or may not sell. This place is located really close to ELAC and a 99cent store, which means good business and competition for the 99cent store. Anyways, I went here yesterday, about an hour after they opened and I am surprised that it wasn't packed. Well, I did miss out on the 100 goodie bags so that must mean 100+ people came before me and probably left already haha. I expected this place to be small, even smaller than the one at Atlantic times square, but it seemed pretty much the same size, if not bigger. and they seemed to have even more items too. well for starters, they had a refrigerator section with soft drinks and even a whole aisle on junk food. a lot more cosmetics too, LOADS MORE. some, i have not even seen at the Atlantic Times Square location. but in comparison, they pretty much sold the same items, with some more additional items i haven't seen before and even more variety. the cash register line was a bit crazy, but way faster than the one at Atlantic times square. and also, if anyone happens to need to go to the restroom, be aware that they do not have public restrooms. read more

Fantastic! This Daiso discount store just opened this past week. There seems to be a lot of them popping up in the LA area, but this is one of the better ones. The size of the store is comparable to their location in Torrance. This is by far the biggest one in the San Gabriel Valley area. Most of their items are $1.50. Very few items are priced over that. Those items are clearly marked. Anything you can imagine that is plastic and made by the Japanese can be found here. There are a lot of stationary, folders, and office necessities. In the back of the shop are also organizational bins, trash cans, and book ends. The rear half of the shop has mostly your kitchen and bathroom items. The front has most of the Staples-oriented items. You can easily spend a lot of money here, especially if you like photo album, CD holders, journals, bento boxes, and even overly-cute items that are not useful whatsoever. This location is amply stocked, but parking can be a big problem, since they share it with at least 10 other shops in the plaza. So good luck trying to find a spot! read more

Organized Japanese convenient store. Most Daiso's I go to are messy but the Atlantic location is pretty organized and up to date. The workers are inconsistent though. Some days i would get exceptional - good services and sometimes when I stop by to get some school supplies the workers wouldn't bother checking their inventory. Especially the stationary section. I asked my niece what she wanted to her 12th birthday and she said art supplies. I usually find her supplies at the mom and pop dollar stores so I actually went to the store next door first and purchased some stuff there. As I was walking out I noticed the new store next door, Daiso (never heard of it) so being me curiosity got me. I went to the car gave my husband my bag and went in. When I walked in I fell in love. The store was spotless and on signs everywhere, everything $1.50. I started in the first row and what was it? Art/office supplies. I went crazy, before I knew it my arms were full, I called my husband in to come see all the stuff I found. He comes in sees me, grabs a cart and starts walking the store with me. We walked every isle and by the time we were done I had got my niece art supplies, me stuff, stuff for his mom and sister and he even got stuff. I am a frequent shopper at Daiso. Whenever I see a Daiso during my commute, I stop by just to see what's new and if there's anything different from other locations. This location seems to have more items. The only problem I had at this location was that they got rid of all the air freshener samples and how am I going to buy them when I don't know what it smells like??? I asked a working staff and she said they do not do samples for it anymore, and could not really explain the reason =/ So in the end, I bought the air freshener that I bought in the past and was unable to try anything new. Also, during check out, my total came out to be below $10 only by 30 cents, and the cashier said she cannot accept credit card :( REALLY??? I was off by couple cents! Geez! In the end I bought candy that I didn't really care for just to go over the $10 minimum. Why can't they get rid of the minimum policy when clearly, people usually go over that minimum.
