Shoutout to Anthony for helping my mom and I out the other day! I love coming to Daiso and I seem to always buy things I don't need. I'm sure this happens to everyone who steps foot into Daiso! I was looking for baskets and other things to put together gift baskets for Christmas. Anthony walked me around the whole place and helped hold my basket! When they didn't have enough of what I needed, Anthony immediately contacted another Daiso nearby and put the items on hold for me! Excellent service and plenty of parking! I always love going to Daiso and they never let me down with what they have there...I sometimes wish they would get more newer items but hey

been going to this daiso for years, but unfortunately, it's not as great as it use to be. i went there today to look for one item and grabbed the last one. i asked the manager if they happen to have anymore and he said he would go check for me as he was already heading back there pushing his dolly back. two minutes later, i see him walking out avoiding where i was and wearing a jacket as if i wouldn't recognize him. could i just chase him down and ask him again? yes, but he clearly wanted to go home rather than help a customer as he pretended that he didn't see me when i was standing right next to him while waiting in the line at the register. i know he saw me as i saw his head turn my direction, quickly turned away, and again didn't say anything. i don't feel like wasting more of my time as i have things to do myself. i'm sure the second time, he would've just went home and i wouldn't have known. who could forget a question in 2 minutes and you're the manager. the two cashiers were really nice and i did confirm with them that it is the manger since i know both the manager and assistant manager wear the grey aprons. the cashiers offer to help me grab their manager or help with my needs, but i'm happier to shop elsewhere and as i told them, i promise they won't see me here again. hopefully they treat their other customers better in the future or get another new manager, 4th times a charm. read more

I see they are expanding their products with food from their own brand "Daiso Select" As usual, I was tempted to buy some things I do not need in life which was everything I did buy that day. I love their kitchenware. It's so cute. Makes me want to start baking and cooking more often. I like getting containers from here and cute folders and stationary. read more

I am fan of Daiso, they have products that most other place don't have. The quality is not that great but is not that cheap either. You can find pretty useful house, office supplies here. I love coming here for dishes! They have a great selection of them, specially the small dipping trays! Love how unique some of them are. Also some of their pet items and gift boxes are good as well! This Daiso is located inside the TJmaxx plaza, which is pretty busy plaza if you asked me, you're lucky if you find parking spot when is super busy. Another thing that I hate about the parking lot is their parking space! Ughhhh it's so tiny! I feel like they made the space in favors to smaller cars.. Pricing it varies... it supposed to be $1.50 but some items will have a price tag of $3.00 or more depending on what type of merchandise it is. If it's better quality or bigger then the price is higher. Tbh some of their items with higher price tag looks very cheap.. lol i wouldn't pay an extra $1.50 for it.. just my opinion! Daiso is a great place to go to for above average cheap items. It is always so random and sort of fun to see what weird products are available but just remember things are only $1.50 so you can't expect great quality. The store is overall clean and well organized so I'd recommend coming here for some quick kitchen supplies or random crafting supplies. read more

This is one of the larger Daiso stores I've been to. There's a wider selection of items and a lot more space so I could walk around and browse without bumping into groups of people/wait for people to move. As for the items, it's true that most are priced at only $1.50. Beware though, because some items are priced at $3.00 or even more so check the item carefully for any sticker. I have to commend this store for selling such cute and seemingly useful items at such a low cost but the quality of these items are subpar. The items I purchased were a dog harness & leash, gel pens, and some nail polish. So far only the harness and leash seem to hold up fine. The gel pens had a defect (the ink wasn't coming out) and the nail polish was terrible quality. I know I shouldn't complain since I'm getting these items at such a great deal but some of the stuff here will never really have much purpose in my life if it won't last that long! In summary, even though the store is much bigger, it's still a pain to navigate through the tiny aisles. Items are extremely cheap but at the cost of its quality. Fell in love with Daiso when I was in Japan years ago. After I visit their loction in Seattle, I heard rumors they were going to expand their stores in California. Even better news, it was going to be located near me! Everything is 1.50 unless marked. I love that idea. But it could turn for the worst if you pick up too many things in your basket. It's a good thing they don't have shopping carts. You can easily over spend here. Daiso I have seen this a few years back in Asia and really having it in USA is a little strange to me. Yes everything is pretty cheap here but the lines, the things you get aren't always what you get. Just note that yes it is cheap but you get what you pay for. I feel that they should do exchanges or returns for items that are broken or not working. They do also have a $10.00 minimun if you are using your credit card, so my advice is either buy more than $10.00 or just bring cash with you. Also they don't accept I believe $100.00 bills I forgot or $50.00, totally forgot already. I came here the other day and parking was great they have a lot of parking and the store is really organized and it was pretty dead. I think the pink and the way they organize everything can be a little overwhelming but you do sometimes find some good finds. I wouldn't suggest buying any type of make up product though. More like buy things like containers or something plastic. You wouldn't want to put something on your face that was only a buck - fifty. read more

I didn't know this area has such a nice plaza with Daiso, Chipotle, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Sanrio, Baskin-Robbins etc. Anyways, this plaza looks brand new and clean so was Daiso. I've never been to the Daiso at Monterey Park so I don't know how it compares, but this new Daiso is definitely waaay smaller than the one in Irvine. The Irvine location is probably twice as large as this one. I'm not used to cramped aisles or huge crowds and people in the way of everything here, not to mention it felt as if the air conditioning wasn't turned on so it was mildly uncomfortable (but I guess at least it wasn't stuffy and smelly). The checkout line was super long even with 4-5 people working the cash register. It took at least 10 minutes to get to the front. Regardless, Daiso is consistently a great convenience store with quality items for wonderfully low prices. I love their cute bowls and plates and other dishware they carry here and everything is only a low price of $1.50 except a few otherwise marked merchandise. Get your ceramics here instead of at Little Tokyo. They also have little stationary things and other trinkets and around-the-house things. Hopefully the crowd dies down soon. It's almost a given that every time you enter Daiso without a specific goal in mind of what you're going to buy, you are going to leave with items you didn't know you even needed, but now that you've spotted them, you must have. I'm super happy that a Daiso opened up closer to my house, although the Daiso's here have nothing compared to the ones I have been to in Canada. I think this Daiso is much better than Atlantic Time Square's location only because the aisles seem to be slightly larger, and the place seems well lit. However, opening up in the Guppy House plaza is really going to add to the parking/driving hazard. I came by yesterday and cars were parked so badly that parking spots were lost because some cars took over two spots. There's also the problem of the checkout line. I'm not sure if it's just because there's the hype of Daiso's grand opening, but the line to check out was constantly 15+ people, making it snake along the front of the store towards the back aisle. And the air conditioning ... pretty much nonexistent on a hot summer day. But the pluses - all the aisles are neatly organized and items are categorized and placed thoughtfully so that you can be sure to find what you need. There are also the ever helpful sales people walking around that you can stop and ask if you ever have a question. From wrapping paper to bowls to dog toys, you can find almost everything here at a pretty reasonable price (items are usually $1.50, but some are priced at $3.00 or up). Almost everything is made in Japan, but make sure you check the label because there were some items that were made in China yet the exact duplicate of the item was made in Japan. I don't know if I'll come to Daiso consistently, but probably come by once every few months to check out new items. At least until the crowds stop overwhelming the parking lot and the store (if that every happens). Oh, one more thing ... they accept credit cards on purchases over $10, but there are no exchanges or returns. I wish they'd at least allow exchanges on items. read more

So, i like this chain brand and have had great experiences at several locations as well as here in the past. So, I get here at 8:55pm (store closes at 9pm) and some dude in a red shirt and spikey hair is locking the door. I proceed to knock on the window and ask this dude with glasses if they're "closed?" through the window. Loud enough so he can hear w/o yelling (it's pretty quiet out & i know he can hear me) & i speak slowly so he can read my lips. I even gave a hand gesture of "closed?". He smiles at me. I immediately hold up 9 fingers and show him my time on my phone and proceed to say "i thought (you close at ) 9pm? Freaking guy smiles at me one more time and mumbles something to another employee and turns his back on me. Some other customers arrive and ask if they're closed. A girl asks me "i can't even go in real quick? There's still like 3 minutes before closing time!" I told her what transpired. She tells me "not even after you held up your fingers and asked him? He didn't say anything?" (I didn't know she had seen or heard me). I told her know. She then, told me there's another store netarby that just opened in Arcadia. We checked the store hours on our phones. 9pm as well. Horrible, horrible customer service. I've never known Asian people to turn away business like this. Especially, at such a popular chain store. Cheap but cute Asian products! Why is this place better than a 99 cents store because their products are cute. Don't ever underestimate the power of cute, I have friends that are loyal Daiso customers because of this. This place is great for stocking stuffers that don't sucks. The quality of items are also better than most dollar stores so that extra 50 cents is worth it. Coloring books for kids are also nice, the paper is of a smooth quality and thicker too so that you can't see the coloring from the other side from color pencils or crayons. I get household products for the kitchen and cleaning from here on a regular basis. I got some nifty silicone muffin cups here and a small tart pan. They also have bento making items for those into that art form. When you see something you like it's hard not to buy it because they rotate out their stock and then the next time you come here it might be gone. :( Plenty of parking in since it's a strip mall and it's also next to a Sanrio store so you can look around for more cute stuff. You can only use your credit card once you reach $10 in products and once you buy the stuff all sales are final no exchanges. read more

I come to daiso for everything. For this visit, I came about 8:45pm 15 minutes before closing time. The doors were closed and the lights were dimmed. WHY? You close at 9pm. The staff are a bunch of teens or young college students, so basically that's why it was the way it was (ahem, district manager, look at your security tapes). Kids, I understand you hate work and you want to get out, but seriously can't you do it more closely to the closing hour? Like 8:55 pm? This deters the customers from coming in because it looks closed. Even if your door closes at 9pm, people are still in there shopping. It's rude. The guy at the door had the doors locked and was guarding it like it was fort knox. I said "it says you close at 9, it's not 9 yet." His response was "yes, but we close the door at 8:50pm", was 8:45pm! If i didn't pitch a fit he wouldn't have let me in. When I left it was about 8:55pm, I seriously only needed one thing! other people came and sure enough they were deterred from going in cause the lights were almost out. Overall I would come back but there are so many Daisos around, this location wouldn't be my first pick. read more

Imagine a 99 cents store meets a Japanese warehouse-- bam, this would be their product. Of course, everyone loves products made from Japan because everything is so damn cute and functional. Right? This plaza is located near Guppys, TJ Max, Ono, and Tenjus. Parking here is pretty easy, since the plaza isn't too packed. (Thank goodness!) Upon arrival, it's like a neon party with white tile floors. Almost everything is $1.50; however, BE CAREFUL! Some items are more than $1.50-- which there will be a price tag. Otherwise, be prepared to spend, spend, and spend! The service here is decent. Nothing to rave about; however, there was one worker who didn't allow us to leave our basket on the floor (WTF). She said it was "unattended," when we were clearly a few feet away from the basket. Are you kidding me? *Cue in Real Housewives of New Jersey Teresa Guidice moment* Nonetheless, it was pretty pathetic to argue with a worker that was in her teens. DID SHE NOT KNOW THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT? Whatever, it was probably her first job. Luckily, we called the store and complained, which I never get the chance to run into her again-- THANK GOODNESS. But still, -1 star for that incident. Overall, I love it here. Daiso is a chain of Japanese $1.50 stores (like the $0.99 store). They have amazingly cool stuff. From kitchen utensils to clothes to origami paper, they have it. They also have snacks too. I love the seaweed wrapped rice crackers - and for only $1.50. Oh, and school supplies - they have the cutest stuff there. And if you're a comic book collector, they have those clear hard cases that are about 2" thick for only $1.50 - they have the sliding lock handle. I've seen them being sold for $6 - $7 at comicons. The store sale defective goods！！！ I bought a bag last night， but When I got home, I found out a hole in the bag，so today I went back the store to ask for a change one with receipt，then there's an employee showed a terrible attitude to me，he told me he could not exchange or refund it because of its ridiculous policy. Some items are not $1.50 and might've been more expensive than they were back then but they have a lot of stationary and small items that you might like. This is like the 100 YEN store of Japan I once saw 20 years ago. Fast forward today I call it the 200 YEN store or $1.50 US. Anyways this store has a lot of cute and neat things, just like in Japan. Ever heard of the catalogue "Things You've Never Knew Existed and other things you can't live without"? Well this store is it. It's hard for me to come here without leaving empty handed. The only problem is some of their inventory gets sold out. They may or never restock it. If you like something, buy multiples of it just in case. Daiso Japan is one of the best Japan Import in this country. I cannot believe some of the items is selling for $1.50 in Daiso. Such as headphone, sunglasses, jump rope, etc.. You will not find that cheap in Chinatown or elsewhere. However there some item you can find in 99 cents store. However, majority of the item are unique here. The product is direct made for Daiso, without the middleman. Just like all other Daiso, there is no return! Credit card only accepted over $10 of purchased. From what I heard the Daiso in Japan are actually even cheaper, but so far I am impressed with Daiso. Wish they offered more products in the store. Parking in this plaza is usually easy to find. It is hard to walk in there and buy nothing; you often find something new there. read more

Ummm Yeah like this daiso was rocken it! Much better than the other daiso's that I have been to and its a few blocks from my house; SCORE!!! Here is the basic low down on Daiso: most items $1.50 no returns cash only for under $10 CCs are only v/mc for 10 or more debit is ok under $10 They have all kinds of random crap here. So much so that I was able to get a few presents and learning chopsticks for my munchkin =) Overall this store besides being brand new is super clean. The staff is pretty helpful and most speak English unlike some other Daiso's. The things available here are similar to the other ones if not identical to them. However, parking is super easy with a giant lot. Let alone I feel like they have more square footage here or something as you dont feel cramped when here. The staff also ensures that you know that there are no returns and its cash or $10 dollar minimum for Cred Card charges. Definitely worth a visit if you have never been. No matter who goes in here, they all leave with something it seems like. read more

I like this store but..., I was went to this location in Nov 2 around 8:20p.. Pretty soon is 8:30 they started telling customer is 8:30 now we close at 9p, and then every 5 mins to telling customer what time right now and close at 9.. AND, they shut the light out at 8:45p... Errr.. I was wondering if the Daiso is knowing those kids try to kit customer out early because they want to off early.... The last 3 time I went this location, they did the same thing.. Is not a good behavior to manager the store business in this way! They should shut the light out at 9p not 8:45p... and, not keep use speaker every another 5 mins! That's suck! read more

This place has a lot of items that you wouldn't find elsewhere. It's neatly organized and has plenty of parking. They have stationary, school supplies, tableware, snacks, gift wrapping, makeup, accessories, storage- the selection is similar to a normal dollar store, except everything is $1.50 unless otherwise marked, and the designs are often quirky/unique. There is a lot to look at, and this is one of the cleaner and more spacious Daiso locations. Many items are even cheaper than off of Taobao (Chinese Ebay), like their Anna Sui style mirrors or pen holders. The only downsides are that the checkout line can be long, and you can't make returns. I've gotten earphones here that didn't work, so I wouldn't recommend buying electronics. I also avoid buying anything you'd eat from, such as dishes or tupperware, due to the cancer and lead warnings. read more

My go-to Daiso in the SGV mainly based on two factors. Easy parking and friendly, helpful staff. This is a smallish Daiso but I normally find everything on my wish list here. For you Daiso newbs, some of the best $1.50 stuff here I've found are... 4-cup coffee filers (100 pack), fridge air fresheners (slim ones made in Korea), zip lock style storage bags, ear plugs for travel, cotton swabs, mini bowls for sauce, sponge multipacks, small kitschy stuff for my niece and nephew, and the list goes on. As long as you stay away from the Asian snacks aisle (you can find this stuff cheaper at most markets) then you'll leave this place with great bang for your buck. Long live Daiso!! read more

The aisles are tight, but they have lots of neat and useful gadgets and things.... things you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. I really like how they have a lot of different options for things. a lot of variety and it is clean inside and a lot of cute things that dollar store does not have. I like shopping there. downside is no return policy. I bought a glue gun there and it was completely a waste because the plug was weak so does not heat up at all. They just opened a Daiso near my house! YAY! :) It's like Daiso Japan stores are popping up left and right throughout the SGV area! I am so glad that they opened one nearby my house. I just feel sad for the local discount stores that must compete with the price and quality of Daiso Japan products. They carry sooo many cute and useful products for only $1.50 for most items. School supplies, Kitchen ware, Bathroom supplies, Snacks, Cosmetics, Electronics, Tools, etc. You name it and Daiso probably carries it! There are many inexpensive products that they sell for a fraction of the price as other places like headphones, iphone chargers, tool kits, and more! I highly recommend stopping by Daiso before you shop anywhere else! Most of the items are roughly the same price you would pay for online but without the shipping&handing fee or the wait.
