I also help my clients while shopping and purchasing, to protect them from being ripped off. In this case, my clients/myself chose to buy the Fireplace Xtrordinaire 4237 from this company for close to $10k. Unfortunately, manufacturers require buying from dealers for warranty and service issues, they are not aware if the dealers are installing properly because their website does not allow direct contact. My quick review: This company offers high end fireplaces. Do your research and DO NOT purchase without having everything documented via email, DO NOT allow phone conversations unless they are recorded. The sales people in our experience did not know the required details of our purchase and had I not been there, the installers would have damaged my client's home and could have burned the house down! If you have them deliver or install. Make sure you read the installation/owner manuals completely so you know you are not getting RIPPED OFF! Fortunately, I have everything documented via email, text, phone recordings, photographs, and video. Along with, my clients having the ability to work from home and eyewitness the experience intimately in real time. They truly were shocked at what they witnessed though relieved they hired me!

When I finally got ahold of him, he got his feelings hurt and hung up on me because I told him he wasn't listening to me when I was asking him a question. After he hung up, I called back 5 times, but he decided to be childish and not answer. Poor communication skills and customer service, and is rarely at his "store". Could be a good place, but need to work on some things.

Had a 20 year old gas fireplace that was too far gone to fix. (Could not find parts). Called…read moretwo local companies, BHF came out right away and did some measuring and suggested I do as much as I can to get the old unit out before ordering a new unit as it was going into a corner and it would help greatly if they could see what was behind the angled wall. I did that. The second company finally sent someone out to look. He looked, and looked and looked. Wrote down a lot of stuff and NEVER got back to me. In the meantime BHF came out again (for free) and this time had enough info to order a unit. When it came in they came out, removed the old unit completely, redid the gas line and electrical, even installed an outlet close to the new fireplace for a CO and smoke detector. They did it all without having to remove an existing mantle and big screen TV! They finished it right down to the drywall. I was able to do the mud and tape and put Airstone around the insert so it looks really good. Still have not heard back from the other place.
