Very unhappy with Dales Automotive!!, I took my truck there after hearing on the radio that new customer s will receive 10% off their service. My service was just over 6k and when I mentioned 10 % off , the guy at the front desk didn't know what I was talking about. Tried a few times to tell him but still didn't get 10% off! Very misleading advertising on their behalf. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I would never recommend this business! read more

The business has a scam going on. They have "zero" play policy, and start work orders on perfectly functional and safe bearings. The cost of service is also 4x higher than what it should be. They definitely take advantage of ignorant people. You've been warned. Edit :2200$ for 2 bearings and a couple ball joints. 4x is a generous estimate, parts and labour are a fraction of that. They use their zero play policy to upswell you on paying this outrageous amount, while using fear tactics. I just want to prevent good hardworking people from being taken for ride. read more

not the type of auto repair shop for me...too busy,doesn't listen and too keen for add on $$$$ without even looking at the problem.

I brought my elcamino in to get an alignment done because the previous owner had replaced everything in the frontend suspension. they charge an inspection fee before any alignment which would of been ok if the guy doing it had any experience with older vehicles . I just got a short video of guy moving front wheels back and forth on a lift saying everything loose etc that's the reason I brought it in didn't need them to tell me that they said my tie rods were to long and weren't the right ones and probably would have to be cut down obviously without trying or measuring i even had the old owner call them and tell them what he replaced and brand he used etc . because everything was brand new . They ended up wanting to replace everything again. and gave me an estimate upwards around $4900 and a long wait time for parts from the states . anyways I declined paid the just under $ 200 dollar inspection fee . and took it home . I ended up bringing it it to pacific alignment shop in Vancouver and told them the tie rods probably had to be cut down etc because it had aftermarket tubular control arms and what not , well they phoned me with in the same day told me that they measured the tie rods and they didn't need to cut them and that my ballpoints were damaged and needed to be replaced I asked them how much to fix it all and the estimate came in at around $950 so I gave them the go ahead . I could of saved $400 plus dollars as it turned out the damaged moog ball joints have a lifetime warranty. At this point I just wanted to drive the car . the car handles great now and couldn't be happier I would never recommend or take a older car there again at it was just a waste of time and money. inexperienced guys doing half assed inspections and obviously don't know or want to trouble shoot and just want to upsell their services read more

I used to spend a lot of time working on my own cars, but at this point in my life I'm just not interested in wrenching on suspension and brakes anymore. I've never really had to find a shop to do work on my Audis, so I was a little sensitive about finding one. Long story short I was super impressed with Jameson and the rest of the staff here. Pricing was very competitive, to the point where it's not even really worth it to source parts out of the states. Will definitely be back! read more

When I can't fix what's wrong with my car I always bring it down to Dale's for a prompt and fast repair. These guys are stellar from doing brakes, alignments, suspension, and tire repairs done within a few hours (depending their workload and the extent on your car repair) They have done suspension work on my car and I was greatly impressed with their awesome customer service and urgency in getting the job quick so you can be back on the road. Honest, old school service that gets the job done and I have no intent on bringing my car anywhere. read more

A great group of guys who know what they're talking about. Awhile ago, I brought my truck into Dale's after checking with another mechanic who told me my suspension components were fine. A visual found both my rear shocks not working and after a more thorough inspection found components to be worn and needing replacement. They gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be done, what could wait and what they would do if it were their vehicle and wallet involved. I've taken my truck for more mechanical work since when needed and they're always giving advice that makes sense and holds true. Couldn't ask for better customer service, honest advice, and good work. read more

I had a alignment issue that no other shop can fix apparently. I debated going to dales because of the further drive. I regret not going earlier. I just recently gave them a try and wow they aligned my car with no issues and found out it was a tire issue. For over a year I thought I had no choice but to deal with a crooked steering wheel. I can't describe what it's like because it was so irritating. I am so pleased with their professional service. They really are the best in the lower mainland. Fast friendly service, just wow... I fell in love with my bmw again and I'm a loyal customer to them now, these guys are no joke. It feels like a hundred pounds of rocks off my chest. These guys are true professionals and they know what they are doing. I will refer anyone to their shop. They also do custom alignments and service vehicles. read more

They performed an oil change and replaced end links. Reasonable prices. Their waiting room is not meant to wait in. If I had to wait more than an hour I would have blown my brains out. Would kill them to put in a cheap flat screen from Costco and put on TSN? No coffee maker. These 2 items would enhance the customer experience and would distract the customer from how long a repair may be taking. Also, wanted to charge a lot more for a part I could have gotten from Subaru dealer next door. read more

Really, ZERO STARS. These guys are real scam artists. They treat you like you're an irritation, and then rip you off. I was quoted nearly $900 to get a simple tie rod and steering rack bushings installed, parts and labour. And then on top of that, another nearly $1000 to get an intermedate shaft installed, parts and labour. so for a total of $1900!! I ended up buying the inner tie rod end and bushings off of them, and going elsewhere. Bit the bullet cause they mark up seriously on the parts too. Bought the intermediate shaft off ebay, and had all the work done by Josh at Autotech down the road for $525!! w/taxes, and labour only. So to compare labour costs, the same work at Dale's would have cost me $1080 w/taxes, compared to better work and customer service by Josh at Autotech for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE. Josh actually charges per hour, not a jacked up hourly rate, and HOURS more than the job would really take to do. Advice? Stay away and recommend everyone you know to stay away. Thats what I'm doing. read more

Tried to book an appointment yesterday to take my car there for a much needed alignment after new suspension and all. Jameson on the phone was friendly and told me they don't take appointments that I have to leave the car there all day. I asked if I can drop it off by 11:30 am because i have appointment in the morning. I also asked if it would be done by the end of the day. Answer was yes. Dropped the car off 11:30 sharp and went on my ways. I called the shop at 4:00pm to see when i can pick it up cause i have to get a ride there from Abbotsford. answer was not sure if it will be done today because they are so busy. Jeff (the guy with the attitude) then called me at 4:40pm and advised that my car won't be ready because they are losing day light. I asked if they have touched my car at all? the answer was no. I then went and got my car back. Jeff handed over the key without a single word, almost felt like I was a hassle for the shop.. I have had good experience with Jason last time I was there with my 997TT and have always recommonded friends to Dale's alignment. Very disappointed today and it was a total waste of time. not impressed read more

Beware! They claim that they are built on old school honesty but I disagree. I took my Ford truck in for a power steering leak - they replaced power steering pump, steering box, front brakes, U joints, and some other things for $5000. Power steering still leaking, went back twice, now they replaced rear brakes and axle seals, another $3000. Power steering still leaking after $8000 of repairs that I didn't need. These guys don't know how to fix anything, they just change parts at random and charge an arm and a leg for it. Went to another mechanic, Chris's Tire and Auto, he found a loose clamp on power steering hose, fixed the leak in 5 minutes at no charge. He told me the other parts that were replaced at Dale's were most likely fine considering the mileage on my truck. read more

I Buy new winter tires and ask the tire shop (Kal Tire) to check alignment. They tell me it is slightly off but they can not do it as the tie rod ends are seized. I then take my car to my mechanic who frees them up in 2 minutes and does an inspection of my front end, tells me there are no issues, go get alignment! I book appointment and take my car to Dale's for alignment. They do an inspection and I am told that 3 items need repair on the front end (bushings, tie rod, etc.) before the alignment can be done. I am provided with a quote for the work of approximately $1750 ( this also includes the alignment) . I am obviously leery given that my car was in at the mechanic and was told that everything was fine. I pick my car up and pay $111 (plus taxes & shop supplies) inspection fee. I have no issue with this except for they charge me $10 for shop supplies. When I question this they tell me that it is their standard practice to charge an extra **** 9% **** for shop supplies on top of their labour rate, and they justify this amount even though they did not physically do any work to my car but by the fact that they put my car on the hoist ( wear and tear on the hoist I was told) . Here is where things get even more interesting on the $1750 quote there is also a line item for shop supplies for **** $91.87 ***** . This is a total rip off ! How many rags and how much grease are they going to use to justify $91.87? I take my car back to my mechanic prior to posting this review as I wanted him to double check my front end. As you probably already figured out he called me back telling me once again that there is nothing at this moment that needs replacing. Will definitely not be going back to Dale's as there are other good alignment shops around! read more

Dale's installed Bilstein shocks on my Ford Ranger. They were in stock at a very fair price. Huge upgrade by the way and Dale's is the only place for Bilsteins in the Lower Mainland. They were very busy but still got me in and out on time as promised. The staff is very helpful and it's obvious that they are not trying to upsell the customer or do anything more than necessary or requested. Pretty much one of my best auto service experiences ever. read more

After reading good things About Dales, I set up an appointment TWO months in advance to have my springs and camber kit installed. I had the date and time set. I was coming from Vancouver and dropping it off first thing in the am. I called a two weeks out and my appointment was confirmed. The night before, I called again because I could not remember if they opened at 8 or 8:30. To my surprise, the guy asked me if I had an appointment as they were super busy. Yes I said, he looked it up and said he had no record. Luckily I had an email trail, and got the name of the guy that did book it. The guy on the phone put me on hold, talked to that guy, and confirmed I did have an appointment. However, he could not assure me that my car would be done as they messed up the bookings, and had to fit me in. Are you kidding me? Fit me in? I booked over two months ago. And now I would drive all the way form Vancouver not knowing if they could even finish the job or would rush the job? I asked the guy a few times what he could do, and he was very arrogant and just kept saying we will see. Never will I go back to these clowns. On top of it, I had a buddy coming with me who was going to get some work done and was going to book an appointment as well so he wasn't be going. I will be spreading the word to everyone I know, all the car forums I am a member of, etc due to this. Piss poor customer service. read more

I dealt with Dale's Alignment a long time ago and I vowed never to go back. I got them to install new struts and his son damaged the parts and did not own up to it. They ended up using vice grips on the shaft of the strut and it blew the seal. They eventually agreed to pay for new parts but wanted to charge me labour to re and re. I ended up taking a loss and took my business elsewhere. read more

I can't say enough positive things about Dales Alignment. Mike went over and above to track down the parts for my Lexus SUV. Due to the huge cost of new Lexus parts from the dealer Mike was able to locate a vehicle from California which had the parts we needed and reduce the cost by thousands of dollars. Mike was great at keeping me informed of what was needed and happening with the repairs of the vehicle. Horrible Service and Inept Workers Two of the steering parts that they replaced were missing pieces that I noticed when I was home checking vehicle. I then noticed that some of the bolts they replaced were only half cut-off leaving jagged spikes sticking out, catching on wires and hoses. When I called to take vehicle back to be fixed properly they wanted me to wait 3 days while I drove around with faulty steering. I immediately drove there that day, made them fix it that day and had to make them rent me a car while I waited(terrible waiting room, also). I took the vehicle home started checking for mistakes and found that they decided to zap strap hoses and a wire (that move with the axle) to the brake lines on the frame. As soon as I jacked up the vehicle the hoses and lines went tight and were pulling on the brake lines trying to break them. Morons!!! I fixed all their mistakes and will never go near there again! read more

Had a bunch of work done here, I really wish I would have went somewhere else. Their hourly rate is almost as much as the dealers. They mark the parts up so much and then had oil all over my carpets, broke/dented two lug nuts, unreal. I cannot believe people go here, first class fucking scammers. read more

I had a 4 wheel custom alignment with SPC control arms and ST coilovers. It was configured as requested. My only issue was it took the whole day for the adjustment without giving me any updates. I had to call in and found out the car is ready. read more

I took my car in for an alignment. Upon inspection, they decided that I needed $700 worth of work to replace my control arms. Not having that kind of money, I did it myself with my mechanic father. There was nothing wrong with the original control arms! I took it back to Dale's to finish the alignment and they charged me full price for an alignment and "re-inspection", despite mis-diagnosing in the first place and wasting my money/time on repairs. I tried to ask them to take my original inspection off the price given the circumstances, and they would not. NOT impressed with Dale's; I will not be recommending them to friends/family. read more
