There's not to much to say. It's simple, Dale's is great. It's your typical small town convenience store with a deli and grill with fried chicken & massive $5 breakfast sandwiches. Wait.. i don't think this exist anywhere else ahaha. Anyways this place is great for a quick & filling breakfast or lunch sandwich. Large Italian sandwich was only $10, can't really beat that. After stopping by across the street for some gas, I saw a sign outside Dale's that read "World's best fried chicken"...well...never a fan of hyperbole, I had to stop by to see how off the mark they would be...but lo and behold was it amazing! Juicy, crispy skin, not salty, and meaty. Do yourselves a favor and stop by here when you're in the area. read more

Steak and cheese was dry and tough/stringy. Kid either cooked it wrong, or the meat was bad or both.

Stopped by Dale's Market while mountain biking 60 miles along the Paulinskill Valley Rail Trail. Noticed to my discontent that I had forgotten to pack Clif Bars and GORP. Went over to the deli counter and selected a 8.99$ foot long sandwich: store cooked roast beef. The guy behind the counter was really nice and customized my sandwich with fresh mozzarella and Frank's Red Hot sauce. My only complaint is that the only fixins included for the hefty sandwich price were lettuce and tomato. I am generally accustomed to Quick Chek's 4.99$ specials where you get any fixins you want at no additional charge. Ended up eating the sandwich in 2 sittings on the trail and was very satisfied with the quality. The amount of roast beef and freshness certainly has me preferring a Dale's Market roast beef over a Quick Chek roast beef. Probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. I would have been tempted for iced coffee, but did not see any ice machines and/or iced coffee. In summary, a great place to stop by when biking the rail trail! read more

No trip to Blairstown is complete without a stop (or 5) at Dale's market. This place never ceases to amaze me - they have everything! Staff is overall friendly and the deli counter team will jump through hoops to make you happy. They used to make taco salad and after I kept trying to order it on different occasions after they stopped they gave me the deli phone number and told me to just call when I was on my way and they would make me one - too cool! The fried chicken, specifically the barbecue tenders are great and make for a perfect lunch. read more

I love Dale's. The fried chicken is great. Many times the produce is fresher and better price than A&P. I can get in and out quicker than A&P also. Good deli meats. And they now carry fresh fish! I had the best london broil ever from there once. It has steadily improved over the last few years. I just wish they would paint inside and fix up the appearance of the deli area though.Their hard rolls are decent too. read more

This is for the new Andover market. I stopped in with my boyfriend to get rolls for my dinner. I asked the girl in the front and told me to go by the deli and ask them. I stood there for 10 minutes when there was 2 or 3 of them looking at me from the back talking and laughing and flat out ignoring me meanwhile there is one girl helping one other person. They just didnt care. I get the rolls and they are as hard as a rock. Why would the girl even hand those to me. I didnt buy them. I was looking at there pies and they looked good. I wanted to buy one except....there was white mold growing on them. Forget it...you lost me as a customer. This was my first time there and I will not return. Get yourself better employees who dont think think they get paid to sit around like its social hour and ignore customers. And check your food daily.... read more

Happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a market. After an equipment breakdown 5 miles north while hiking the Appalacian Trail, I headed for town. My cell was out of battery and my boots were falling apart. The manager kindly offered to let me use the stores phone to arrange a pickup. He even came outside to inform me when my ride called back to confirm. That's a way to do business. I obliged by purchasing some snacks and a coffee. Very nice people there. read more

I haven't been to Dale's in years and went there today as a Plan B when my first stop for subs didn't work out. I was pleasantly surprised, the store was spotless, the workers were beyond friendly and professional, and appeared to be holding themselves to high standards. I am big on sanitation and everything that was visible was spot on. Our subs were delicious and this is a local business I will be back to. read more

First let me start by saying I want to like Dale's market. I really do. It's a quaint and clean deli/general store that you don't see much of anymore with all the horrible Quick Checks and 7-11's popping up everywhere. I pass it twice daily and it would be my go to stop for breakfast every day if it weren't for so many bad experiences there. I want to be fair so first lets go over some of the things they do well. They have good fried chicken. They also have good salads, fresh produce, as well as some "higher end" food items that you may not find at your average local deli and certainly not at a quick check type place. Now for the bad. About two weeks ago I ordered a Taylor ham, egg and cheese and specified that I'd like the eggs cooked over medium. What I got was my eggs cooked well done, (burnt actually) and two burnt pieces of Taylor ham. The Taylor ham tasted like crispy over cooked bacon, so much so that I kept checking to make sure it was really Taylor ham. I decided to try again a couple days lateral only this time I ordered my eggs over easy (I figured maybe the extra runny yolk might help with getting the extra crispy Taylor ham down my throat without incident). Again I got burnt Taylor ham and well done eggs! How can you call yourself a deli/breakfast place and confuse over easy with over well? And they did it to me again a third time last week! This was even after explaining to the woman on the phone the problem I had encountered on the last two occasions. Reluctantly on my way home today I decided give them one last chance and get something for dinner (I figured maybe they're just bad at breakfast, I mean they have good fried chicken right?) I ordered a GRILLED pastrami and Swiss on rye (basically a grilled cheese with Swiss and hot pastrami). I received the smallest sandwich I've ever seen. It was pathetic. And even worse the pastrami and Swiss were still cold right from the deli case and the bread was just regular dry rye bread that they never bothered to butter and grill. Let's be clear here, I wasn't ordering an "off menu" item. It's right there in black and white on the menu. I also grabbed a quart of skim milk while I was there which I started drinking while driving home desperately trying to wash down the driest sandwich known to man only to discover the milk was sour and "chunky" to the point that I had to spit it out in my car! The date on the milk was okay so I'm left to assume it had spoiled because of negligence on their part. Again, I really want to like dale's but until they make some changes I'll be going ten extra minutes out of my way to Fredon deli. Sorry Dale's. read more

I love their honey barbecue boneless chicken tenders; they are delicious! Just the right amount of zing. They have lots of interesting foods in the deli area, to purchase hot or cold. Wings, macaroni & cheese, rice balls, sandwiches and at least 6 different kinds of chicken. Lots more too. The produce and meat department is priced comparable to the big chain grocery stores and their butcher is very good. The workers are friendly and helpful. read more

I liked this place a lot. Came with a large amount of people to buy ice cream, of which there was a satisfyingly large selection. Price was reasonable and their plastic spoons weren't as flimsy as the ones they sell at Mignosi's, but then again i kinda dislike chains, so. Giving 4 stars just because the ice cream was a little melts and they didn't have green tea flavored. Also I ate too much, and while not directly dale's fault it still feels like a bit of a betrayal. read more

They make the best chicken around; I love the honey barbecue wings! They also sell meat and produce at prices comparable to the large chain groceries. Their butcher is the best! They carry everything you would need to make a meal and you can get in and out in 5 minutes. The people are friendly and the store is always clean. They have hot meals ready for eating and cold meals ready for heating. read more
