It's my closest store, but the people that work there seem to really hate their jobs. Produce is barely ok. It's not the best place to shop.

Most of the employees are miserable and it shows! I only shop here because it is local, how I wish there was a Shoprite in place of Acme.

For years I have been urged to visit Alipne for their quality meats and fantastic (and gigantic)…read moresandwiches. Due to living in CT, I can only go when timing up with work in the area. Yesterday was the first time the stars aligned. Walking in was a terrific feeling. Being brought back to a very happy place in my mind - where every town had a butcher, a baker, and you know the rest... Everyone working was fantastic. Welcoming, accommodating. The vibe of regulars in there jiving with the staff made me feel like I was home even though it was my maiden voyage. The meat and salad cases were two of the most impressive I have ever seen. I ordered a pastrami and Swiss on a roll with 1,000 Island, mustard and onion. I was drooling imaging the mountain I was promised by those in the know. The sandwich was delicious. But as you'll see in the photo it was actually kind-of-small. Maybe I didn't order correctly. The coleslaw and deli pickle were perhaps the best example of each I have ever had. I'm already planning my return with a cooler so I can fill it with steaks and sausages. This place is the real deal. Take away - worth the drive for the experience and meat case. And I need to lean what/how to order to get one or the giant sandwiches ppl talk about.

The sandwiches, one roast beef on a hard roll and pastrami on rye were excellent! Salads were fresh and tasty. Beautiful day to pick-up some great deli and have a nice lunch break at Footbridge Park. It wouldn't scan, I told the woman she ushered me there, and I said it won't scan she attempted and looked and saw it wouldn't scan. She gave me a look and told another employee who said oh tossed my card to me and said "ion know call the lottery," turn their backs, and started talking. I stopped at the new Wawa for gas went inside and asked how do I cash the ticket she looked and said "Did you scratch with your key, yes I said" and showed me whom to call on the ticket. It took 30 seconds. I'm disappointed in the treatment, this trip. Which admittedly,is a first occurrence in maybe 100 trips, but that doesn't make it feel any better.

Addition to review 1/18/14:…read more I have a problem: I broke the seal. I hopped in my car and drove down to Turkey Hill under the facade of getting gas. But in my heart, I knew I was just going to get the sausage, egg, and cheese on croissant ($2.19) and breakfast scrambler ($0.99). I mean, i can get gas when we're on our way home later tonight...but I can't get my breakfast at that time. The scrambler is basically an over-sized hash brown with egg inside and it is a nice complement to something...say, the sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. The croissant is so buttery and I like the white american cheese they use. It's got me hooked. Just as a note: I've tried other sandwiches of theirs that use bagels, but I'd skip those. The bagels are kinda chewy and heavy, whereas the croissant is fluffy, buttery goodness through and through. Now that I've admitted I have a problem...I don't think I'll have any problem just driving down for a sandwich and coming back. Original Review from 12/23/13: Check your couch for loose change. If you've done a thorough job, then you probably have enough to purchase a breakfast sandwich, a bag of chips, a cup of coffee, and some candy for the road from Turkey Hill. I'm from NY, so every time I stop here I have to do a double-take when the cashier reads the total out for me. Gas is regularly 30 cents cheaper per gallon than in the city, and if you get a Turkey Hill Rewards card (free), you get an additional 3 cents knocked off the price. Open 24/7, friendly staff, blah blah blah. Nothing bad to say at all about this location.
