I originally bought my engagement and wedding band at the Lougheed Mall location. After they closed I brought my rings to the Coquitlam Centre for cleaning and repairs. They have been so kind, always super friendly. Any repairs are done in days, as they work on their jewelry in the store. They are always happy to clean and make sure nothing is loose when ever I'm in the mall. Always so happy with my service. Never had a bad situation happen. Having a wander around the mall with my fiance he decides we should take a look in some jewelry stores to get ideas for my "upgrade ring" with which is mildly agitated and moderately flabbergasted because I keep on liking the cheap ones and insisting on pink sapphires as a central stone instead of diamonds and writing off most as "too big" or "would be obnoxious on my hand and I would lose it and feel terrible." After looking in several stores we decide we have had enough window shopping, but walk by Dallany Jewelers on the way out and decide to take a quick look. I promptly see a ring that I fall in love with even declaring "I like that ring enough that I almost don't care it's a diamond and not pink" A sales lady came over to help us and I agreed to "see it up close" and it was lovely. She let us know that each piece in the store is one of a kind which is nice to know as engagement rings should be special, but some people lack the motivation to design their own. Since I liked this one so much she quickly starts pulling out similar but not my style rings which are all double the price (at least), lovely but I don't care what it costs I like what I like with jewelry. I kept thanking her and telling her we were just looking, after pulling out probably the 8th unsolicited ring I say again, thanks that's not much my style [it's getting annoying] to which she actually sassed back "well why don't you just buy the first one then" as though i was wasting her time. Number 1: the first thing I said when she offered assistance is "thanks, we are just looking" [ie - indicates we are not buying today] Number 2: I actually did just want to look around at things in general Number 3: Assume a price range... my fiance and I do not see eye to eye on appropriate ring cost and I don't want something really expensive when I am confident I will lose it one day as I lose everything Number 4: If you would like to make a sale, DO NOT snap the the potential buyer... people buy from sales people they like, not ones with attitude problems. Aside from the incredibly rude sales person their jewelry was lovely, in addition the ring there was several necklaces and earrings I thought were breathtaking and special. I also like one of a kind pieces. I would go back, but maybe to their other location, or just avoid rude sales girl like the bubonic plague... upon leaving my fiance gauged my actual interest in this specific ring, which I really do love, and asked if I want that one to which I replied "Not if you are buying it from her" [referring to the rude sales lady]. If it hadn't been for the negative experience with the sales associate this review would have been 5* based on the product quality, design, and value. read more

I had my engagement ring cleaned and the white gold refinished. The day after I picked it up 3 of the small diamonds fell out. When confronted they denied any responsibility but gave me a discount for replacement. After picking it up a second time, the next day I notice that the main stone has a crack through it and one of the claws are broken. I will not be going back there a third time. read more

Ken hand-engraved my wedding band and I couldn't be happier with it, still so elegant all these years later. My wife has worked with him on two custom ring designs and he has provided service way above and beyond expectations. Wonderful attention to detail, willing to redo the wax models SO many times until they were perfect. Twelve years later he still treats the original ring as if it was under some kind of lifetime warranty. Really great to see someone with old school values still around today. My fiancé and I have spent a few months shopping for a diamond for our engagement ring. We went everywhere, enquiring at birks, Tiffany's, blue Nile, Ragnar, all over Vancouver, online, etc. etc. Fortunately, a family friend referred us to Ken at Dallany, assuring us all their family and friends go to ken because he has the best prices. We contacted Ken immediately regarding our purchase and he wasted no time looking for a diamond for us. Within a couple of days, he got back to us with the perfect diamond way below our budget and a price that was significantly below prices quoted at other jewelers. We went to the store to look at the diamond, and Ken was extremely patient with us, answering all questions we had. He even taught us how to look at the diamond, and how to look for the GIA number that was lasered on the diamond. I went back to the store with my friend a few days later to pick up the diamond. After we left, my friend kept gushing about how nice Ken was and said she will definitely be back when she gets engaged and married. We really wish we contacted Ken at the beginning of our diamond purchase - it would have saved us a lot of time and headache! March 2012-We purchased all of our engagement and wedding bands at Dallany Jewellery Coquitlam back in 2011. The person we dealt with was Ken. He is very knowledgeable and no...he is not pushy but rather he is very patience as we took our time to look through so many designs before picking out the rings we wanted. We must have spent two hours just looking and trying on rings on that day with him alone. If you are not able to see the designs on their display, bring a picture to show him, he will try his best to find something similar or even custom design it for you. After picking out the rings, make sure you have done your research on the prices of diamonds, gold, etc with the current market. We have looked through Ben Moss, Spence Diamonds, Brinks Jewellery, Peoples Jewllers and Tiffany & Co for similar rings and we do not feel the prices they were asking for gave us the best return. We felt that they were asking us to pay for their royalties (Name Brand) instead of the quality of the ring itself/craftsmanship.(...and yes we did spend over $10,000 at on our rings.) We can recall when dealing with Ken after selecting our rings, he would sit us down, make us feel comfortable and tell us "I'll give you a good price". He would pull out his calculator and punch out a number for you. We find that his prices were very reasonable comparing to all of the Big Name Jewellers and without losing out on the craftsmanship/elegance on the rings. I recently dropped off and picked up my rings for a free cleaning/polishing for an up coming special event. Ken was there and he asked me to write a review for his store and the services they provide. Ken did not ask me to write a good review for him, he simply asked me to just write a review. Well, I can express to all potential customers that we are pleased to write a very good review for Ken and the services that they provide because we often don't take the time to write positive comments to the people and businesses that we dealt with due to our busy lives but often we only focused on writing bad reviews on our bad experiences. I sometimes think that retail store owners do not spend enough time training their staff how to offer good customer service. I went into Dallany Jewellery in Coquitlam Centre and I could see a young sales associate with another client. As I walked in, the sales associate left her client and came over to me. Then another sales associate came over and said to the younger one, that her client needed her help. The sales associate said "He's not going to buy anything." The other client waited to be helped and she ignored him. Then the other sales associate went over to help him. At that moment, I felt that this young sales associate was only looking to make a sale, not to make a client. I spent about an hour with her and saw a lot of the nice pieces the store had, but she didn't establish the connection that a good sales associate needs. I am pretty sure the client this sales associate left alone won't be going back and I most likely won't either. read more
