I recently bought a 2008 Honda with a perplexing symptom. The boss finally figured out the problem was electrical not mechanical. He himself drove it to an electrical specialist, waited while my car was repaired and drove it back. Otherwise I might have had to pay a dealership a whole lot more money! I have used Dallas Car Care for years, and although we may not have been their best customer we were regulars customers coming in several times a year with our 2007 Escalade ESV and 2001 Corvette. Rob and Dave are the owners and on Thursday June 10, 2021 I called up to the shop and talked with Rob. I told him the AC in my Corvette was blowing hot on the drivers side and cold on passengers side and although I was pretty sure my left actuator was bad I would like to get a charge on the AC to make sure the problem wasn't just low Freon. I asked him how long it would take since I had to work Thursday evening at 6:30. He told me an hour and I said be right there. Dropped it off at 2:45 and asked him to call me when it was ready. Also told Rob that I thought the left actuator was going out would he please give me an estimate for it, and he said he would. At 5:25 I called them, twice since they close at 5:30 and I had not heard from them. No answer. Arranged a ride to work and drove by at 5:40 just to see if they still might be open, or someone there since they close at 5:30. Locked up tight, good thing was my car was inside where I parked it, hood still open and looked like nothing had been done. Friday morning I called up there, spoke with Rob again and he was dismissive when I asked why he didn't call me yesterday to even tell me the car wouldn't be ready. I asked about the bill and he said he didn't add it up yet but " It wouldn't kill me" finally asked about the estimate ( He told me 3 times during the call that the left actuator was going out, I wanted to say yes I know, I told you that yesterday ) He said I don't have anyone young enough to get under there and fix it. Rob wasn't there when I went to pick up my car, I did explain to Dave all the things I have written here, my complaints and why I was upset with their service. Dave just smiled and said he had been in business for 42 years and wasn't concerned that I was upset. Even when I told him I had to arrange other transportation last night. Just keep smiling and saying he didn't mind if he lost business 42 years is a long time etc.... Well Dave and Rob treat your clients like you treated me and I am sure your wish will come true sooner than you think. What really upsets me the most is a good mechanic and car repair shop is hard to find, especially being a woman with a sports car. Most men thing I have no idea about my car and how it works. And I am sorry to loose Dallas Car Care as someone I could trust with my cars, but I will not be back. read more

Less than 15 minutes later we were finished. The mechanic also was kind enough to take my payment inside while I sat in with my daughter who was still sleeping in car. If you want the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE you have ever experienced go to Dallas Care Care !!! The owner Rod Homire even cussed at me!!! I was told by the Service Manager at a Chevy Dealership that who ever sold me and installed my battery should replace it because a bolt was left out and stripped a post . I purchased this battery from Dallas Car Care a year ago and they installed it. I have had problems before but they are close to home and I thought convenient. When I told Rod this he was very rude and said he just couldn't take my word for it. Rod Homire (owner ) told me to never return. I will make sure of that. His employees were nice . I feel sorry for them though if this is the way he treats customers..I can only image how he treats his employees. My advice. Find another shop were the owner is not mean and aggressive. My friend, JF, recommended I have my windshield wiper blades replaced at Dallas Car Care. Best.Advice.Ever. Their bays were full, but rather than make me wait or schedule another day for such a small bit of business, they trotted right out to my car and replaced them right in the parking spot, smiling and joking the whole time. I was there no more than 15 minutes total, and the price was great. So I had to try my new wipers out, of course. Best auto mechanic experience I've ever had. Honest, fair, and efficient. I'd been putting off work my 2010 Honda Fit was in dire need of for far too long. I was referred by neighbors on the NextDoor app. They replaced my front brakes and rotors, cleaned the back brakes, high mileage oil change, replaced a belt, and gave me an estimate on some needed maintenance I'll be coming back to take care of after the holidays. Talking to Rod was like talking to an old friend. He even called the following day to see how my car was running. Now THAT is customer service. They didn't talk down to me, try to sell me on unnecessary work to increase the final invoice, or take advantage of my limited car knowledge, like chains like NTB has historically done. They found the problem fixed it and the price didn't hurt my pockets, I brought my wife up here and she says the same thing we both think Josh should be Manager not the other guy Jesus I came in one day about a problem I had with my car and he was very rude to me and my wife ( who came on a different day ) there was a real lack of respect and that's a big thing for me I almost stopped coming but I remembered the great customer service we got for Josh and his shift and that's what saved it. They were awesome from beginning to end which was about 10 min total which included changing my oil airing up a tire and cleaning my windshield which I did not expect them to do. Im a lady and don't understand too much about cars, my dad usually handles everything car related for me so I'm usually apprehensive alone at mechanical shops but I didn't feel the least bit unsure of what they told me was needing to be taken care of with my tires which they also didn't need to do since they aren't a tire shop. These guys fixed my problem my and my car works as it should. What kills me is I told them I have a warranty I bought at the dealer. Guy says ok I will read thru it and see if parts are covered. When I go to pay he says ya I looked thru your book and it doesn't say it's covered, sorry $500 please. So when I get back to my office I look in the book and clear as day see it is covered. Come to find out after calling in my claim they marked up spark plugs $12 ea and the other parts for the repair. I understand the mark up game and the need for them to make money. But when you as business owner won't help your customers by working within a warranty program and then egregiously raise the price of parts is pretty shitty. I won't return there and do business with them. It a shame too, they do good work. Until they will start robbing you the second you drop the car off. They need to take the we accept warranty sign off the window as well, your to lazy to call it in!! read more

I had a engine light come on, so I went to car care which is in garland, it was by my work. The owner and the mechanic were in the office when I walked in. I ask them if they would pull the codes. The mechanic was saying that could be 40 to 100 plus dollars. I was shocked. I said I didn't have more than 40. The mechanic acted hostile and went to my car. I noticed he was pulling the hood up and ripping the inside cover off. I asked the Owner why he was under my hood, I thought the codes were pulled from under the dash. He became defensive, telling me he had the best mechanic and they pulled codes different. I took a picture of the mechanic working under my hood... in front of the owner, mainly because I was in a panic. The owner went to the mechanic, they put their heads together and the mechanic put my car back together. The owner came in and told me they decided to look at my spark plug, but it was ok...don't know why never asked him to. After leaving there they gave me a pice of paper for two errors. Their over priced code pulling didn't even have numbers by the code. When I left my car started jerking as I would break. I think something is wrong with the spark plug they decided to mess with. read more

We used them for oil changes and inspections. I am a retired mechanic. Last year I went for an inspection on my truck and they said the parking brake needed adjustment. They wanted $40. I asked what in the world they were going to do to it. He went through a song and dance about pulling the rear wheels and drums off and cleaning everything. I said whoa, the parking brake on that truck is adjusted by jacking it up and tighten one cable nut and its lock nut, I'll take it home and do it myself. He came back in a few minutes later and said "if you want it done like a shade tree mechanic, I'll do it for $10. It was January and I really didn't want to crawl under the truck, so I let him do it. I thought he was through rather quickly. Today I was checking thing ut for this years inspection and they never tightened ANYTHING! They stole $10 from me and tried for $40. My cable had never been adjusted since it left the factory. Some WD-40, two end wrenches and 10 minutes work and it is ready for inspection. If they will LIE and commit FRAUD about this, what else will they do to YOU? read more
