The staff were top notch, friendly, fast, and thorough. Within 20 minutes I was back on the road with a latte in hand from the clean and comfortable lobby. As a female, it is always nerve-racking dealing with vehicle issues, and the staff here were so friendly and knowledgeable, that I felt entirely comfortable, even 4 hours from home. I'm sure because i'm a young woman they thought they could give me an estimate of around 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS for tiny things like air cabin filters and o2 sensors. It's an actual J O K E. Don't even waste your time coming here because they charge you $170 for a diagnostic test that is only waived if you pay for the thousands of dollars in service for EASY CHEAP repairs. I moved to Texas in December of 2017 and have been taking my vehicles here for repairs, oil changes and other services ever since! Tiffany, the mechanics and all other employees I've had the pleasure of dealing with with are extremely professional and the best of the best! For basic services, such as oil changes and state inspections, the prices are very reasonable. For more advanced services, such as repairs, they will take the time to understand your concerns, will do a through inspection, will call their suppliers to find any parts needed and will come back with a quote. They understand that not everyone is made of money and will work hard to earn your business. When I first visited this auto shop, I had a 15 year old vehicle and towards the end of my vehicle's life, they were even truthful with me and suggested outside options to find the parts I needed at a lower cost. With Town East Automotive, I have never once felt like I would be recommended services or repairs that weren't necessary. I now have a new vehicle and although I currently have a warranty through my dealership and no longer live in Mesquite, I decided to take my vehicle here for its first state inspection. It's a 30 minute drive from my new home and I hadn't visited in a couple of years. However, they treated me as a regular and as if our relationship wasn't put on pause. I spoke about this biz last month regarding my brakes. Well I should have waited because I am having issues with the brakes. I tried going to them asking them to look at the issue and they would but I would need to leave the car all day. I left it for 3 days and over the weekend just to get the brakes done the first time. I don't have that kind of time, plus based on how the vehicle is performing; I don't really want to give a hit man a second chance. We took our car in just to replace the starter cost over1k because it is a Lexus. It only takes 2 screws to remove and replace but we couldn't do it because it needed to be on a lift. It was not leaking any water from radiator not running hot but after another mechanic took it off it had been cracked. The someone that had started the car when starter went out that started it and knew it was not leaking prior to taking it there. 100% they cracked it. They over charge, but had it towed there and of course first the charge you $160 to run diagnostic test. Not only that nothing wrong with battery before taking it to them had to buy new battery which was $230. The charge just for simple starter and diagnostic test over 1 k. I have been getting all my service work done here for almost two years. The past few times I've been here my service technician was Nick. He is great. He is always positive and has a smile on his face. He is always so helpful and patient. He always explains everything to me in details. He is very tall and will always meet eye level to talk to you. I find that so intuitive that he would even consider doing that when talking to me. Other people would have never acknowledge that makes you feel more comfortable when being spoken to. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! THE REVIEWS have to be FAKE!!! I came to this shop because of the reviews and I got let down! These people are not knowledgeable about cars! They OVER charge and your car still doesn't work! They will not give you a refund! I took my Jeep here last Wednesday they didn't start working on my car until Friday because they lost electricity due to the storm. I paid 505 that includes half the diagnostics cost, labor and battery! I was told that was all that was wrong with my Jeep which I knew was wrong. They told me they drove my car and it was ready for pick up. Once I got there the guy in the front which was very nice and respectful told me they would bring my car around. He then told me there was bad news and that my car wouldn't start. Monday afternoon rolls around and they called me trying to charge me another 265 dollars for an auxiliary battery! I told them NO I will not be spending over 700 dollars for my car not to work again! I had to get my car towed to another place to ensure my car would be fixed correctly!! They had my car for 4 days for just a "battery"?? UM NO!! Tried to have a conversation with the manager Leslie! She was rude talking over me, escalating her voice no empathy! She shouldn't be in management and doesn't know anything about cars outside of what the workers tell her!! She refused to refund me and refused to admit they dropped the ball with handling my car!!! Y'all please look past this place and go somewhere else!!! You are welcome!! read more

On 6/9/21 my son and I took his truck to Town East Automotive because the power steering was out, and it was overheating. I was informed of what was exactly wrong with the vehicle and was told it would cost a little over 400.00. Then they called back and stated there were other problems and it would cost 973.87 to repair the truck. I trusted that the information they were giving me was accurate, so I authorized the vehicle to be repaired. About 1 week later the power steering started going out again so we returned the vehicle thinking their repair warranty had me covered. (The issue with overheating seemed to be repaired) I spoke with the young woman at the counter who stated they would need to look at the truck. I received a call and was informed that this was another issue with the power steering and the repair cost would be 1,300.00 and as such the warranty would not cover anything. I complained about the issue because the vehicle had just left the repair shop and I was out over 973.87 and now, they were asking for an additional 1,300.00. After my complaint they reduced the charge to 1,000.00 claiming they found a coupon to reduce the cost. This just did not seem right to me, so I elected NOT to have my vehicle repaired by Town East Automotive. A co-worker recommended I take the truck to Dwight & Don Auto Care in Mesquite and have them look at it. I did and the next day received a call that the repair cost would be 90.00, that all the truck/power steering needed was a seal. Now I must ask myself a couple of questions: 1. Was this an honest mistake on the part of Town East and conclude that these sorts of things just happen? 2. Did they have a new inexperienced / incompetent mechanic working on the truck? 3. Was I simple getting fleeced and they were soaking me for all they could because I was so naive about vehicle repairs? I do not know that much about vehicles so I can not honestly answer my own questions. I will let you the reader make your own conclusions. What I do know is this. I took my vehicle to Town East to have it repaired and paid 973.87 on invoice 83227. 1 week later I took it back for the same issue and was told it would cost an additional 1,300.00, I complained, and the cost dropped to 1,000.00. I decided not to have it repaired, took vehicle to another repair shop and they repaired it for 90.00. I can not believe I was about to pay 1,000.00 for a 90.00 repair job. If I assume the 1st repair was accurate and the second was not then I saved 910.00 by taking my vehicle to Dwight & Don's Auto Care. If the 1st repair was not accurate well, its sad to know I may have thrown away well over 1,000.00 dollars. It's a shame to, I have 4 older vehicles that always need things done to them from mechanical work like I just described to oil changes and inspections. Town East stood to make a lot more money from me had they kept me as a customer. As it stands, they have lost a customer and Dwight & Don Auto Care just gained an incredibly happy customer with 4 vehicles. I took my car here after a very bad experience in Garland. Town East Automotive was amazing! They got me in and out pretty fast, the receptionist was exceptional, the tech took the time to explain things I needed to know about my car and I drove away very pleased with the work. The waiting room was clean, cool, comfortable and spacious. They even had coffee and holiday decorations. The service was the exact opposite of what I had just gone through. On Sunday morning about 9:15 we dropped our truck off at Town East Automotive. The truck kept dying every time it stopped, slowed down, or sped up. Very irritating.. and dangerous. It turned out to be the wiring to the ignition. The cost to repair it was VERY reasonable AND we had the truck back by noon the SAME day. At other places, it takes at least 1 day. I've been using Town East Automotive for years now and they've always done a great job of keeping my old Ford Explorer (1999. YIKES!!!!) running. An interesting thing about Town East Automotive is the wide variety of vehicle types that you'll see in their parking lot. Domestic sedans; high end luxury imports; mega- dollar SUVs; pickup trucks of every age; vintage roadsters; super expensive exotic sports cars and yes, my '99 Ford Explorer Sport. But, I know my old beater got the same high quality service and attention to detail that was afforded that sweet Audi 800 parked right out in front. I've had occasion to use TEA for work on my older 2003 Acura MDX and was impressed with the quality of work, honesty and detailed explanation of what was done and just as importantly, what was not done. Subsequently, I've also had them do work on an older Chevy Tahoe and had the same excellent experience. Extensive front end work was needed, but the work was done professionally and quickly, with care and the same quality of work as with my Acura. They are a busy shop, which is for good reason, and I recommend them highly. read more

I absolutely hate this place!!! But they are the only mechanic I can find in the area who will fix my car the same day. I have been here three times and it's always been a bad experience. Once was an oil change that lasted two and a half hours. The other two times I left with more problems than what I came in with. At the end of the day it does get fixed, but there has got to be someone better in the area. The 'mechanics' here cannot have a very car based knowledge. This last visit, I called three other mechanics for help and they all turned me away. This is why I keep coming back here. My advice for anyone looking into this place for your car: make it your absolute LAST option! read more

I went there to replace my Positive crankcase ventilation valve, but one of the employees at the front desk told me to wait for like two and half hours and later told me it's not the PCV valve, he said it was because the car has high mileage and advised me to sell the car. My friend has just replaced the rusty PCV valve which he said it was not the problem. Why should people lied just to charge high prices? read more

These guys always give you the best advice and if a service is cheaper (such are replacing windshield wipers) somewhere else, they will tell you to go there instead. these guys don't upsale to make commission, i've been bringing my 2006 VW Jetta TDI for repairs granted it's an old car, so i was sketchy as to who to pick as a mechanic, but i'm glad i chose them! They did free diagnostics on all my dashboard lights and been knocking down each issue since. Best thing is that they take care of foreign cars too, so they know their stuff! I would not recommend this place. They used to do a good job but apparently have a mechanic who doesn't really know what he's doing now. My car comes back way, way worse than when I brought it in. Kept taking it back because I thought it was a fluke and gave them several chances. Spent thousands and ended up just selling my car and starting over after they screwed it up. Have a friend who brought her car here for years and they did a great job but went down hill with her car care as well. They are in the habit of not fixing things right and saying you need a new engine after the damage is done. read more

I went to Towne East to have them perform a used car inspection. They quickly identified a couple areas where the car needed repair, but they were not over the top. I found them to be very honest. The best part is that they waived the inspection fee - I walked out without spending a dime! My only complaint is that when I initially called I spent 10 minutes on hold and had to call back again.
