Kibbeh, Spanakopita, Meat Pies and Cheese Pies, Oregano Pizzas, Ribeye Beef Kabab, Garlic Chicken, Kafta, Hummus, Dolmades, Baklava, Cookies and Combo plates! It's all so good. So is the entertainment, even the church tour is enjoyable and educational. We look forward to this particular festival every year. It's well organized by a friendly welcoming church. One of the pros was that there was plenty of seating to eat, both outdoors and indoors, and under cover outdoors. There is a small kids area with carnival type games and a bounce house. These cost money to enjoy. Now onto the food. There was a relatively small menu and food coupons were used. They do accept cash or credit. We had a good sampling including the combo plate, angus sandwich, grape leaves, and baklawa. The angus sandwich was really good, but small for $10. I realize this is a fundraiser, so I get it. The hummus was really good too. There is definitely a home cooked touch to all of the food and we were told that on previous day they ran out of food. We were there around lunch time on Sunday. I have a feeling this will get bigger and bigger every year as word gets out!

I recently came to House of Shine to attend a junk journaling class. The environment was friendly,…read moreinviting and the space was beautiful. Before the class starts, one of the staff will discuss the vision behind House of Shine and ways to get involved. They have a yearly rotating exhibit with interactive activities throughout the space. Amanda the founder of DFW Junk Journaling Club was our instructor. Amanda provided information on junk journaling, showed examples through her own journals, provided supplies and answered any questions we had. The journaling classes are low cost ($10) and they have ample parking available on site. We were encouraged to bring our own supplies for junk journaling which includes receipts, stickers, pictures, cards etc. The class was casual and you could come and go as you pleased. There are meetups throughout the year for those interested in junk journaling discussed on their Instagram page or on linktree. I left the class inspired and look forward to expanding my creativity through journaling. I look forward to attending another journaling class in May.

You rotate through rooms and sometimes wait briefly for a game to finish, so everything feels organized and not chaotic. The setup is very efficient. You get a wristband that you scan to enter games, track your points, and even create a username. There's a leaderboard screen, which the kids loved, and you can earn points toward small prizes. The whole place felt clean, well-run, and supervised without being overbearing. The floors are cushioned, which helps since you're constantly moving, and it does get a little warm just because you're so active. From what I could tell, the party setup is more of a do-it-yourself style where you have a room for a set time rather than a fully hosted experience. Also, it seems per the website you would have like food delivered. There didn't appear to be a place where you could buy water. However, we did see water fountains near the restrooms. One thing I liked is that your time is based on active gameplay, not just the clock. So while we booked 90 minutes, we were actually there closer to two hours with the flow of the games. Overall, it was a really fun and unique experience, something different from the typical party spots. The kids had an amazing time, and we would definitely come back.

My experience here was with 8 girls from my daughters volleyball team along with the parents; we had food for the kids, and the parents of course had their own adult beverages to keep us occupied. I love the freedom the girls had to roam and explore one anothers paintings; they were able to compare, collaborate and laugh. The staff did a fantastic job of keeping the girls focused enough to create beautiful signs, all the while having a great time to talk and mingle with one another. The place is clean and you are greeted with a smile when you walk in. The attitude from start to finish is positive and happy. You could spend time walking through the shop and reading the beautiful signs to get inspiration to create your own version. I will be organizing a neighborhood event and bringing them here, I think we would have a blast working with this place to provide a first stop for a party bus. This place would also be great for team building as you have the space and atmosphere for fun and positive thinking. Academic Enrichment: Collaborations with Lancaster ISD and others. 2. Collegiate Engagement: Partnerships with colleges in the U.S. and Europe to prepare students for leadership roles. 3. Professional Leadership: Programs aimed at interns and employees. The Texas Legends frequently host these events, with breakfast sessions featuring athletes as speakers and luncheons featuring leaders from various partnerships.
