This isn't a store. It's a whole attraction in itself! Walking into the Scheels at Grandscape felt less like "running errands" and more like entering a Texas-sized amusement park that also sells everything you could ever need. This place is huge--two floors of sporting goods wonderland with a giant fish tank arch on the first floor! There are tons of Texas and Dallas Cowboys-themed photo ops, a literal Ferris wheel inside the store, and a massive café with food options, beef jerky bar, and tons of fudge and candied nuts. Bonus points for the staff--everyone I came across was genuinely kind, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there :)

Back here to update my review as we returned just a few after our last visit. I'm impressed by all of the selections here. Mind you, items are not cheap here at Scheel's. What made it five stars this time? We discovered the mini arcade that had free racing games! It's awesome to have a few things for the kids to check out while shopping. The fish tanks, Ferris wheel, and taxidermy animals are all just a bonus for free entertainment.

A sporting goods store gets 5 stars? Absolutely!! This place in a word is just fun, the Ferris wheel, the beef jerky bar, the mini restaurant. Love the firearms section too! They have an incredible grilling section, a shooting gallery, and higher end athleisure wear like Vuori! It's a good thing that this place is 300 miles away from me, otherwise it'd be here all of the time!

This store is amazing. We stopped in during a visit to the Dallas area and was blown away by this store. The store itself is huge, and they have an enormous selection of sporting goods, fan gear, and clothing options. Not just locate market items, but they offer selections for all fan bases. All the staff we encountered were super helpful and knowledgeable. The pricing is equatable to other sporting goods stores. Hope they open one in Houston soon. They have a cafe inside, but we didn't eat there so I can't say anything about the food. The restrooms were clean. Parking - sufficient surface parking.

I think what GS meant to sing was "All my excess lives in Texas"...and this Scheels location is the inspo. I have resisted visiting this store because their ad campaigns centered around a cookie cutter conservative fam with a sprinkle of kountry bonding over the deer they just shot did not appeal to me. A quick internet search will tell you more about their company culture. But, cut to me day drinking at Truck Yard and dinner at Hard 8 with visiting fam and it was either axe throwing, cigar bar, or retail therapy. I haven't been overwhelmed by a sporting goods store since the Bass Pro Pyramid in Memphis which has its own hotel and shooting range inside. Scheels is on par with a working ferris wheel, an aquarium, a candy store, a cafe, and to complete the collection: animatronic talking Nolan Ryan that equals the creepy museum mannequin vignettes so close to my heart. Add all of the weapons, comfy sportswear, next level BBQ/grill/smoker selection, plus exercise equipment and Scheels would be my first choice to be trapped in during a zombie apocalypse. Rule #1 = Cardio. Also, there is every kind of camo, and as a returning Texas resident, it will always be part of my wardrobe. Interesting collection of bronze statues out front. Everywhere you turn, IG paradise. Employees were kind and helpful, and prices were competitive.

We're here in Texas for the Cotton Bowl, in support of University of Miami. Unfortunately, Scheels doesn't have any love for University of Miami. There was apparel for other college teams available, to include the other team playing in the Cotton Bowl, but none for Miami. I also think the Scheels in Reno is much nicer. It was a waste of time to come here!

Huge store with Ferris wheel in it! Excellent athlete goods selection including fishing, kayaking, camping upstairs. The coffee shop was closed when we went. I was more impressed by the firearms selection. We did not purchase anything but the price is almost similar that of Brass Pro or Academy. Pleasant staff, clean and not chaotic. Great stop for families.

the store was pretty large however the pricing on things was unreasonable even in the sale sections.

Could be the best Outdoor / Sporting supply store I've seen. High quality clothing and supplies for any sport. Something for everyone. Plan on spending time so you don't miss anything.

My first time at scheels and it was awesome. Super cool store that has everything you could think of. The workers were awesome and were quick to help me with any questions I had. The gun selection was awesome and they had all sorts of price values I was very tempted but decided not to at the end. I even saw a jackalope! This place was bussin.

This is a massive store. It has everything in it. There's a small putting green where you go and buy some golf clubs and golf balls which I think is pretty cool. You have basketball goal in a little court, where all the basketballs & footballs located. They have water sport type of equipment and products. Kids can have fun with the couple of video games in there & a Ferris wheel. The Trek bicycle shop is great. You have the nice fish tank with all the beautiful colorful fishes in there, I think I saw finding Nemo. You have a gun shop with all the latest guns, rifles, & pistols it's pretty cool. I do love the barbecue section, they have all your barbecue grills, pits, & Smokers. Anything you can think of is in there. I mean like, this store really has a lot of outdoor products and equipment. If you haven't been here yet, I suggest you find your nearest one, go and have fun. Store is very organized. Service was great and the prices were what you'd expect.

    Fun selection of Ariat boots.

I went to Scheel's to check out their shoe department. It's quite extensive and they carry quality brands. I tried on a few pairs of Vionic and Clark sandals but didn't end up making a purchase. We walked by the Cafe that's located within the store. Hubby has had lunch there a few times and likes their BLT sandwich. During the pandemic, Hubby and I came and test drove a couple of E-bikes. We just wanted to check them out and we enjoyed riding around the parking lot. I love all of the beautiful statues that they have out front. Of course the giant indoor Ferris wheel and fish tanks are quite the attraction. This store has a great selection of quality products in all departments. Prices are a little bit higher as you would imagine. Hubby loves to spend time in their fishing tackle aisles. It seems the longer he's there, the more he buys! He says "they've got me hooked!"

Too much to say. Very overwhelming but if they don't have it you probably don't need it. Worth the visit.

Is there a nursing room at this location?

Hi Christine, thank you for reaching out! We do have a nursing room at this store. It can be found in the women's fitting rooms on the first floor. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! - Shane

My…read moreissue is with a fitting room policy that makes absolutely no sense from a customer's perspective. I walked into the fitting room area with three shirts. The employee counted them which is completely reasonable. Then I was told I could not enter because they were not on hangers. I explained that I picked them up from the sales floor without hangers and asked for three hangers. They gave them to me but then told me I still had to place every shirt back onto the rack outside the fitting room before I could go in. So I had to hang the shirts on the rack outside the dressing room just so I could walk inside and immediately remove them again. There was no purpose to it other than creating extra work and slowing the process down. As I was leaving I watched another customer get stopped because she had not rehung her clothing before exiting. Customers are now expected to do work that fitting room attendants have always handled. Retail stores are competing with online shopping where convenience is everything. Policies like this make the in store experience slower more frustrating and less enjoyable. I hope someone at the corporate level reevaluates whether this policy is actually helping anyone because from a customer's perspective it only creates unnecessary inconvenience.
