I have been here for a few events since the start of the year and have always enjoyed myself. The aisle and restrooms are kept clean and clear, staff are friendly, security is tight, their prices are standard stadium prices, their selection of food is limited and definitely nothing to brag about but overall this is a nice facility. I would have given a full 5 but for a few shortcomings. They do not do a good job of advertising their bag restrictions and inevitably the line to enter gets held up from people upset they can not bring their bag/purse in. Yet again I watched ladies squabble with security about their bags and it delayed my entry. They need to do a better job of posting the bag requirements to enter this stadium and they need to be consistent. The women arguing with security and holding up our line were annoying but in their defense i did see another woman past security with a bag that seem larger than allowed. Better advertisement of their bag requirement, consistency in the application of the bag requirement and better drink & food selection would bump them into the 5 star review hands down. read more

This place is a joke. security says it goes by NFL rules. Not an NFL stadium. It's high school that plays here mainly. With that, security won't let ladies in with full sized wallet or kids in with small Lulu bags. The obnoxious thing is several of the security people have the same bags. They commented saying their bags were checked and showed a lame ticket on it. They use Evolve detection technology is used to check for weapons at this. Enid. So, not sure why it matters to have a wallet excluded. Joker Jerry Jones should worry more about winning football games and less about nonsense of non-threatening items and sizes into the game. I'm sure he, his wife, and daughter wouldn't walk back to their cars under this circumstance. read more

We were sold seats to ACM and the row didn't exist. We were told over 300 seats. Stood at customer service window an hour without management showing up. Finally stuck us on floor in back standing. Flew down from PA to miss half show with absolutely no care of venue. read more

Ford Center at The Star is a twelve-thousand seat indoor stadium located in Frisco, Texas, and is home to the Dallas Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse along with a high school football team and many other events. We were actually meeting a business associate at the Dallas Cowboy training center for breakfast. So I can not review it for anything more than my visual tour of the area. Yes a single star because there are no zero stars (hmmm, ironic, my score matches the name of The Star). To summarize, I am sure this is one heck of an outstanding PRACTICE field for an NFL team, but it needs a lot of work to be a concert venue. I also am taking into account this was the first concert played here. The ownership of this facility has access to people that could have eliminated all of these issues up front. With all of that said, strap in and tighten your helmet chin strap. Information to help the patron before the concert was absolutely missing and lacking. Issues on which direction to approach, where to park, what refreshments are available and what you need to get in (purse and bag size, tix on phone not working, etc...) were serious. Parking is an absolute failure at this point as Police and attendants are playing conflicting songs at the same time for this concert. I heard about people being turned away from the parking garage as it was full; it wasn't. There was little direction on where to park in a very large and confusing parking garage. I wandered to the left and found a whole row that none could see of empty spaces. There were many, many empty parking spaces up front. Of course getting to the garage was insane as you slowly meandered around the complex with officers not really sure of should you go left or right. Once out of your car, no signage to tell you where to go. It was my lucky day, I guessed which way to go and that was the shortest route. Getting INTO the facility was the next obstacle. They had well marked organized lanes to proceed down on the artificial turf mini football field. These lanes reminded me of a football obstacle course. Many people got roughed up and tackled before they made it through or so they felt. What really happened were they were turned back after standing in line as they had back packs, large designer purses or their tickets were on their phones and the service bandwidth couldn't keep up. The venue entry point is not the place to learn of these issues. We got lucky and made it in (despite having wrong purse size and cell phone tix took over 3 minutes to come up on screen). Once inside, I was greeted by a row of drink sellers selling lukewarm beer and hot water bottles recently plunged in ice that were being touted as COLD DRINKS. Glad we only waited in the sun for 20 minutes to get in and had time to let the water cool down to room temperature. I was flabbergasted by this act of concession management skills. The signage is good telling you where your sections are, if you have tickets off the floor. We were easily able to see our section. We opted to hit the concession before the concert. Keep in mind, we are seeing top rated performers who play in some of the finer venues all over the world. The food and drink offering at this venue is below what you will find at a college sporting event although they did have some mixed drinks. The prices were reasonable. No gourmet food offerings inside (I did see some outside the stadium, however). Once you get your food and drink, there are no tables or benches to enjoy it. There was a person assigned to hand out napkins and flatware (I guess they were rationing them and afraid I might grab an extra fork.) The seats. Well; not for hearty NFL linebacker built individuals like me. They work pretty good for thinner less taller people. They are stadium seats in a practice field. I think they may be some of the best football practice stadium seats anywhere. But four plus hours in one for a concert is a bit rough; at least for me. I was cheering for the standing ovations as much as for the performers. The video screens and sound system, for a concert, also needs some work. I bet they are fantastic for the football practice sessions. The concession areas act as echo chambers and distort the sound. The bare, hard stadium floor also distorts the sound. The sound technicians were able to do some magic, but the echoes were disappointing for an acoustic sound performer. The performers were amazing and almost made me forget these issues. I'll be at this venue again this fall for another concert and hoping all of these issues will be solved so they can rename it to The Stars. read more

Came here for the VIP Guided Tour and it was excellent. B is a huge Cowboys fan and so while visiting Texas, this was on the top of our list of places to visit. We accidentally went to the AT&T Stadium, thinking the tour would be there. When we realized the tour was at the Ford Center at The Star we were late for our tour time but spoke to one of the employees. He was so friendly and kind. He said that it happens quite often and happily gave us another time slot. The security guard was also so sweet and had a great sense of humor. Our tour guide Tim was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, kind, and so patient with our little one running around. B loved every minute of the tour and it was so nice to see where the Dallas Cowboys train and work 355 days of the year. So many wonderful things about this stadium. If it's a hot summer day that you're visiting, I think it's safe to say the best thing about this stadium is how chilly they keep it inside. The seating inside is pretty comfortable and the snacks are classic sports stadium foods such as pretzels, popcorn, hot dogs, etc. there is plenty of free parking within a parking garage nearby and the restaurants located nearby are perfect for grabbing a quick bite before, during halftime, or after whatever event you're coming to see. read more

This is the Dallas Cowboys practice field. I have been here twice, once for my nephew's graduation and once for my niece's graduation. This was the best place to have the graduations with over 1400 kids involved. The arena accommodated the large number of people easily. There were a lot of parking options and because the ceremonies were lengthy, the snack bars were open which is perfect if you have young kids attending. The events were nice and run efficiently with jumbo screens for those of us a little further back. read more

We were there for the Plano Senior High School graduation ceremony, June 2017. Beautiful, clean, state-of-the-art sound system & the video screens make it easier to see. Strict rules about what you can carry in. Highly recommend you read about it before going. Parking space is generous & easy to figure out which way to walk to the facility. We plan to return for a tour of the facility. You can play football out on the Tostitos Plaza, or play Xbox connect on the screens alongside the field. This is a very beautiful facility. Employees can park in the underground parking garage. Its very well lit and there are escalators and elevators available so you dont have to use the stairs. General parking has a private lot and a parking garage available. If you are here to work an event you have to get checked in with security on the main floor. They will give you a green band that allows you access to all areas of the facility. I did find it a little strange that for a new facility they didn't have automatic toilet flushers and automatic faucets. For sanitary reasons I thought all new facilities were moving to automatic everything. The staff here was very friendly. From the security guards to the "hall monitors" (dont know their job title). They were all very helpful and very kind. There isnt an ATM located anywhere in the facility. If you need cash you have to run down to the 7-11. They really should consider putting in ATM's. Especially when they host events that are cash only admission. read more

Worked here for a day with Gym Station to put on a summer Olympic event for a large group of kids from several different schools. The stadium is beautiful, air conditioned, and just nice to look at! Being from Cali, I'm used to outdoor, but I'm digging indoor stadiums a heck of a lot more I think. Shhh...don't tell my Cali peeps. I'd love to actually return here for a game! Not sure how high security is for those attending a game, but it was something serious for us workers. No games. I found parking to be a little confusing because the garage that we were supposed to park in was basically non-existent and under construction. Boooo. It was on a map and everything. We went here for a Sesame Street performance with Elmo (my first time in Frisco ever!). It was a well run event but the extra fees were ridiculous. Tickets were $69 per person plus $21 fee per ticket. The only way to avoid the rip off fees is to drive all the way to Frisco which for us is minimum 45 minutes each way. That's all Jerry. The website says the fees are to keep the facility running and clean. Excuse me, Jerry is a billionaire. Then meet and greet with Elmo was another $25 per person. Then the concessions and souvenirs were not cheap. At least parking was free. I am not sure how much of this is the Ford Center's fault but it really makes for an expensive event. There were also an awful lot of security guards everywhere to check you up and down for an event for kids aged 2-4. One of them apologized to me and said she understands that this situation is weird. Plus, tons of event staff who seem to do little except stand around. Probably in their contract with Jerry to keep them employed and busy. I don't like giving money to Jerry Jones but the event itself was entertaining and fun. The kiddo liked it and that's all that matters at the end of the day. read more

But here the main entrance is about the only way out on the EAST side. There was one about mid point that had a semi guard that looked like she would challenge you if you wanted to use it So almost the entire concourse was full of slowly or no moving people. How disappointing. I really looked forward to trying this new venue and had high hopes. Like most of the other reviews, the only reason it has one star is because I can't give it zero or negative stars. We were here for Seger, would have been better off watching a concert on TV. At least I could see it and hear it, get to it and get out of it, get food and drink, go to the bathroom.....all things that didn't happen well at The Star. Traffic trying to get in was a nightmare. Horribly long wait, crowded and messy herd trying to get indoors - was divided into a couple sections, but then back to a herd once you got through security - who was wanding us from the boob to the knee - so all our midsections were knife and gun free. Once in the doors, it was slow and hot herding to get to seating, drinks and food - lines were long for all that, and it was cash only. Thanks for the surprise on that one. Prices were too high of course, just as one would expect. We had floor seating, cheap chairs ziptied together in rows. I'm 5'4" and standing in section G, I couldn't see the stage at all, couldn't see the center screen, and with leaning I could see part of the two higher screens on either side. Sound was horrible, if you didn't know the words to the songs, you wouldn't have known what was being sung. We finally got up and moved to the side and were able to get some air and elbow room for a bit. We ended up leaving early and getting the hell out of there, sounds like exiting was as much fun as entering. And I agree with many of the others. In an emergency, this would be a dangerous place to try to get out of. And I have to say, it should be an embarrassment to everyone involved in this place that so many people had such horrible experiences after paying big bucks for tickets to what was supposed to be a special farewell tour. I'm disgusted, will likely never go back. Shame on y'all. read more

I attended the inaugural concert here on Monday, July 31, 2017. I must agree with many other reviewers that attended the concert that there were considerable deficiencies. Parking: there was extremely limited parking near the venue. There were miles-long, single-lane lines being detoured hundreds of yards (if not more) into private parking lots off-site. I estimate my walk at greater than 1/2 mile. Handicapped parking: although I did not require it, I saw several clearly handicapped people trudging hundreds of yards to the venue. They did not allow people to drop off handicapped friends at the venue. There were multiple golf carts ferrying people, but it was not at all clear and where one could find these. Once these people got to the plaza (before security), there will be a place for them to sit. Some were clearly extremely tired. Security: Although they did warn Ticketmaster customers by email of security measures, their rules for what you could bring in were overly restrictive - be forewarned. Security lines to enter in the plaza were compressed together and excessively long. While waiting, 1984-like instructions were repetitively blared-out via loudspeaker. Seating: this is a purpose-built football venue. So, the floor is over 130 yards long. Sitting in the back half of the arena places you a minimum of 50 yards from the stage. Not good. Also, the seats were too narrow, as others have pointed out. Main-floor bathrooms: THERE ARE NONE! You either use Porta potty's or climbing the stairs to the main concourse level. Concessions: there were a reasonable number of concession stands, and the service was reasonably. Prices were more expensive than other DFW-area arenas. The line for wines was ridiculously long. Sound: average at best-it was difficult to understand everything the singers were saying as they introduced songs and bandmembers. This is essentially a football arena, with the poor acoustics one would expect for such a building. As it stands now, I would not attend a concert here again. read more

We walked forever at the end of the concert before we could get to a spot where a driver could pick us up because of the blocked off streets. It was so annoying. When I say forever I mean miles. Security guards patting you were giving folks with the lil dum dum candy lollipop a hard time saying no outside food or drink in a aggressive manner. Pull people to the side while they check their phone. You walk in to the peddling of crap which is excessive. We got the top section of venue for sesame street 320 section and the rows are not lit you have to fumble around go pull your phone to light the numbers up. The steps are so steep I literally stood up to grab a kid off a poor womans arms as she kept saying these steps are steep amd I'm dizzy. She sat down for about 15 min. Now one thing the woman was in shape not your typical wal martian The view simply sucks. Way to far and the overhead lights cover majority of the view. I won't go back. We attended the Bob Seger concert on 3/9. Bob was great but the venue was just ok. We had floor seats. I thought they'd be good but since the floor is flat we had to stand if to see the stage. The chairs were very cheap. We saw one collapse tumbling a big guy to the floor. The Star complex is awesome but the Ford Center is not a great concert venue. read more

By far the worst venue experience I've ever experienced in my life, only one entrance and no one knew what they were doing, I realize a concert is going to be crowded, I dropped $1000 to buy four tickets together on the floor, two of my friends that I gave the digital tickets to couldn't get in with them, luckily I was able to get one of them in with the original scanned on my phone, The fourth one didn't work at all, so I lost $250 . I go to concerts all the time and was born and raised in Dallas. Never saw so much confusion from the parking to concessions nothing worked. Floor seating was worse than any spirit airline flight. Never again! Was really looking forward to the Bob Seger concert but was not prepared for the mess and stress! Who is in charge of this venue? Where is quality control? It was shocking to see the mile long lines to get into the joint...We had floor seats so we were able to somewhat dodge those lines getting in. Once inside, the fun began...WTH!?! The floor seating can be compared to a Spirit Airlines flight (you know what I mean if you've been on one) - you're literally elbow to elbow in cheap chairs. You can't see the stage because it's not properly positioned, it was an aerobic workout just walking through the row to go to the mystery bathroom (no signs) and everyone ended up standing throughout the whole concert! I pity the people that weren't tall...I saw several people just give up and stay seated. When the concert ended, the people on the floor were 'corralled and held' until the folks in the stands were let out. Very strange! Then the trek home began.... it took an hour to get home a few miles away. There was only one star that night - BOB! He was phenomenal and all in all it was worth it since it was his farewell tour. Bob Seger 3/9 was my first experience at this venue, and it will most certainly be my last. Hands down, this place is the worst concert venue in all of DFW. From the traffic jam to access parking, the event lot was full before 7:15 (concert was at 8pm), poor signage to find the open "free lots" (at least 0.5 mile from the venue); I was already stressed even before getting close to the center. Then there was the over 15 minute wait with me and at least 750 of my closest friends herded in line to wait for security screening. Maybe 10 lines for 17,000 people, really??? There was no forewarning of the purse restrictions (luckily we passed, but barely). Once inside, things did not improve--concessions, bathrooms, etc. were so unorganized, as was security to help us find our cheap folding chairs on the floor. A man in front of us was unceremoniously dumped to the floor when his chair suddenly collapsed. People were vaping before and during the concert, no one bothered to stop them. The concert itself was awesome, but the acoustics were terrible. Luckily the band was so great that they still sounded sort of ok. The projection screens were way too small to see much. Then there was the end of the concert. Had there been a fire or terrorist, me and all 17,000 of my now closest friends would have been goners. It took over 20 minutes to vacate the premises, all the while shoulder to shoulder with the masses inching our way out of there. God help us if there had been panic or chaos. This was my first time inside the Star, I was here for the South Oakcliff VS Lovejoy game. Very nice stadium nice seating and the roof is closed, plenty of bathrooms. Some stalls were dirty but other then that it was a nice experience. read more

Disclaimer: I am NOT a Cowboys fan but went there with a friend from California who is a fan. First impressions were not good. Had to take purses and cameras (apparently my 10 year old camera looks too professional) to the car and hope that no one broke into the car to steal everything. The tour is 1 hr 45 minutes. About 45 minutes of it was good because it was about the facility. The locker room was amazing and a huge surprise. I yawned though about an hour that was just about the Cowboys history and events that happened almost every year to make them great. Even my friend was getting bored. Best and worst part of the tour happened at the same time. Jerry was in the restaurant when we were ending the tour. The guide was freaking out that we would have to walk past Jerry to leave. She said that was a no no and she could lose her job but there was no other way out. She led us like little ducks past him (within a few feet). Then for 10 minutes we heard that she would have to file an incident report and could get fired. Why the hell would people want to work for someone that puts that much fear into them. The best part of the encounter with Jerry was that three of the four people in the group were wearing our KANSAS CITY CHIEFS shirts. I was the last one in the group and Jerry made eye contact. He was not smiling at all (though some wonder if he still can). I however gave him the biggest smile I could muster. If you are a Cowboys fan then by all means pay the money and check out the practice facility. Go CHIEFS !!!!! read more

I went to the Bob Seger concert last week, and i will definitely think twice about going back to this venue. My mom uses a walker, and I am currently on crutches, and this venue kicked our ass. We asked where we could park for handicap, and the parking attendant said try to find something close to the elevator. Thankfully someone that had to return to her car due to the purse policy gave us a heads up. After going back to the car to exchange our purses, we came upon the great line to Bob. We looked like a herd of cattle being funneled into the vet chute. There were lots of questions, and not many answers. Finally an employee said we needed to go to another line for handicap, and it was a block away. So off we went on our quest for handicap entrance, and finally got in. We got our seats changed to handicap seating, but it was on the other side of the building (the side we first tried to enter at). We finally sat down in our seats at 8:45, and the concert started at 8. Thankfully Bob has a warm up band, but I seriously doubt they had much of an audience. I was charged $6 for a cup of ice water, and $5 for a box of stale, extremely salty popcorn. We left during the first encore because we knew the crowds would be bad, and from what I have read that was the right decision. I doubt I will ever come to this venue again! Please do your research before coming here. We were told by someone there is a designated place for handicap parking, and the entrance. So check that out before you go, because there are no signs posted to help you out. read more

Had we not Uber'd we could have put it in the car, but that wasn't an option either! I went on the tour they provided and was able to see the facility. Let me warn everyone- THERE ARE MANY PLACES WHERE YOU ARE NOT ALLOW TO TAKE PICTURES. Hey this is Jerry's house and those are the rules. And they have plenty of security around all areas to ensure this rule. So don't be that dude! Through the tour, my favorite was seeing how high tech and luxury the locker room is. I also saw a personal library and many meeting spaces. Downstairs, you will be lead to a place where you ARE ALLOW to take PICTURES. But they also said you can't post to social media?? I came here yesterday when me and my bf came to check out the Valdosta, GA and Chandler, AZ football game. The area is very nice and I was pleased parking was free. A head's up, no large purses are allowed; only see through bags or small bags. I had to walk back to my car because my purse was to big. After making our way back inside we made our way to the concession. We got loaded nachos, a hot dog and a large drink and like all concessions, the food was way overpriced and mediocre. 7 dollars for loaded nachos, 7 dollars for a drink and 4 dollars for a hot dog (not even a foot long hot dog). This place is absolutely awesome! I loved it so much! I liked it better than the AT&T Stadium Tour. Definitely provides more insight into the Dallas Cowboys empire. From the War Room to the history behind their uniforms, coaches, players. Views of the practice field and their Super Bowl Trophies and rings. We loved it all! Must see if you can get tour tickets!
