I researched thoroughly before choosing this location. I have always never loved my nose growing up and just wanted to get rid of my bump! Dr. Cochran truly listened to what I wanted and killed it! In 5th grade, a soccer ball hit my face and broke my nose. Specifically, the bone was broken and the cartilage was cracked. While I fortunately did not have any functional issues, there was a slight but clear deviation in my bridge (among other aesthetic concerns I had). I always knew I wanted to fix my nose, so years later, in my mid-twenties, I scheduled two consultations with prominent rhinoplasty surgeons in Dallas. My first consultation was with Dr. Rohrich, and my second consultation was with Dr. Cochran. While I liked Dr. Rohrich, I appreciated how detailed Dr. Cochran was during my hour-long 3D imaging morph. He was very nice, answered all my questions, and gave me realistic expectations. After the consultation, I knew I wanted to book with Dr. Cochran. Besides his pleasant disposition, I knew I wanted someone who was an EXPERT in RHINOPLASTY -- not a plastic surgeon who did breast augmentations, facelifts, rhinoplasties, and everything else all in the standard week. Rhinoplasty is the most difficult cosmetic procedure, so aesthetically, I wanted someone who knew how to match my ethnic features, and functionally, I wanted someone who knew how the nose worked so I wouldn't have any breathing issues or nasal valve collapse. As an ENT who exclusively does rhinoplasties, Dr. Cochran fits the bill perfectly. My surgery was 6 days ago, and I got my cast and sutures removed today. Even though I am still very swollen, I love everything about my new nose. It is so beautiful and, more importantly, functional! Dr. Cochran and his staff have wonderful bedside manner; Kassandra, his nurse, always responded to my (many) emails, and I frantically called Dr. Cochran not even 24 hours post-op at 5 AM because I accidentally hit my cast and he said to come in that morning so he could take a look. Luckily, everything was fine, and he even accurately predicted when my worst day of swelling would be. I know I have a year before all my swelling comes down, but it is already such an improvement. Could not be more happy with my entire experience. From my initial consultation, to my scheduling, surgery, and recent follow up. Office staff is amazing as well as Dr. Cochran. Very easy to contact and work with and always very prompt in any emails or calls. I had a rhinoplasty by another surgeon back in the mid 1990s and was devastated by the results. The surgeon agreed to perform a revision at no cost. Well, it made my nose worse. Basically, my natural nose was not ugly at all, but I had a bridge that had a slight curve outward. One might call it a hump, but it wasn't a hump like a Roman or maybe Arabic nose. I just needed a that hump to be shaved down ever so slightly to give me a straight bridge from The upper area of my nose down to where the tip started. Well, the same surgeon did yet another revision and let me tell you I couldn't bare to look people in the eye because they basically stared at my nose half the time. My nose was left turned up (I'm a guy, it shouldn't be turned up!), both sides of my nose "scooped out" (one side more than the other), my nostrils flared and since the side walls of my nose had hardly any support due to cartilage removal, my nostrils were lifted at the sides. To add insult to injury, the scar under my nose was now a permanently red and bumpy and crooked one! The surgeon said since I had so many revisions Basically my nose looked I had just smelled poop, except it was a permanent look. Ain't that cute?! I was too broke to afford going to a new surgeon to see if they could rebuild my nose to at least make make my resting bitch face go away! I did a lot of research and I think God sent me to Dr. Cochran. I want to see him and long story short, he pointed out to me ALL the same observations I had made about my nose. He explained to me that it would be difficult, but felt I would be a lot happier after a revision. However, it would require harvesting cartilage from either my rib or ear. I was still not in the position to be getting cosmetic surgery, but this was beyond cosmetic for me. It truly affected my every waking moment. Every interaction I had with people made me feel uncomfortable and constantly reminded me of how I messed up my nose that wasn't bad to begin with. But I put it on a credit card and prayed to God it would be my last rhinoplasty. Results were BEYOND AMAZING. He gave me a nose that I couldn't have imagined ever having, considering my previous surgeries! He took cartilage from my ear and rebuilt my bridge and added volume to the sides of my nose to widen it, since the previous surgeon left me with too narrow of a bridge and nose in general. He managed to being the tip down, as well as the nostril side views! Dr. Cochran did tell me ahead of time that results cannot be guaranteed, so over time the final result would take perhaps a year or more to reveal itself. One thing that has been on my mind is that my right side of the nose seems need a tiny bit more support, but it is something I can live with. I mean, if I won the lottery I would look into getting it added, but doesn't keep me awake an night. I think it's something that perhaps I notice anyway. But you know how one knows his/her body more than anyone else. That surgery was in 2012 and nose still looked in same good shape as it did until I had a fall and broke my nose! Omg I was devastated. But I did not hesitate to pick up the phone and I called Dr. Cochran's office a couple days after. I had surgery on Thursday, 1/31/19, so I still have the cover on my nose. He said the surgery went very well and that my nose will look good when it heals. Luckily, he didn't do an open revision, so I don't have all the packing I remember from all the previous surgeries. I'm in some pain, but taking meds and they help. I'm told I should be okay to return to work on Monday, 2/4/19, but will have to show up to the office with the nose cover... oh well! To anyone doing research for rhinoplasty, I would NEVER go to anyone other than Dr. Cochran. I already told my sister that if her daughter is going to have one (her daughter is dead serious about getting a nose job when she turns 18, she's only 16), she can't go to anyone else but Dr. Cochran. Dr. Cochran did a revision surgery for me (after my initial rhinoplasty ten years ago by a different surgeon). I felt mostly satisfied with my results from the first surgery but wanted to see what Dr. Cochran could do for me after he did an amazing job on my wife's nose. We researched several other highly reputable surgeons in the area and happily decided on Dr. Cochran for my wife and it was a no-brainer that I would also choose him for my revision surgery. It was my wife's first - time rhinoplasty. His down-to-earth and friendly demeanor make him very approachable and easy to talk to. His imaging lab was incredible and he had me feeling very comfortable and excited to move forward after the consultation. The surgery went perfectly (according to Dr. Cochran) and he achieved even better results cosmetically than I was expecting! I also suffer with sinus infections often during the year and my breathing is significantly improved as a result of his work too. I had a question several hours after my surgery and spoke directly with Dr. Cochran himself - who seemed happy to talk with me for a minute at 8pm on a Thursday night. This man is the best. I was referred to this office because I had a deviated septum and difficulty breathing sometimes out of my left nostril. I could have had the surgery paid for by insurance if I would have had an in network ENT do it but decided to have Dr. Cochran do it since he was an ENT who primarily does rhinoplasty and I thought I would get a better cosmetic result. That was an $8000 mistake. After the surgery when I looked in the mirror the first time I immediately noticed that my nose was bandaged on my face crooked, it was pulled over towards the left side of my face. Stevie Wonder could have seen how crooked it was. I did not call the office about it since Dr. Cochran only does noses and I thought there was obviously a reason it was bandaged in that manner. That was my second mistake. When the bandaging was removed my nose was crooked on my face, pointing to the left side. When I asked Dr. Cochran about it and when it could be fixed, he said that he did the best he could and he would not do corrective surgery. Seriously, was he drunk or not wearing glasses when he did my surgery? Or is he just a hack? One thing for sure is that he is a liar. Now you know why his do over rate that he quotes you is so low. He refuses to fix his butcher jobs no matter how bad they are, even though he says in the agreement that you sign that he will perform corrective surgery at no additional charge except for the hospital. And my breathing through my left nostril was not any better. Now I hate having my picture taken and will have to pay someone else to fix his butcher job on me. My nose is a thousand times worse cosmetically now. Would give him minus 10 Stars if I could! Maybe you should wonder why there are so few reviews on him except for the five stars before you sign up with him. read more

Ok this is an update. It's a year now, and it looks great! Very very satisfied. Most of the swelling is gone, possibly a little more but you can't tell. I feel pretty for the first time in my life. Dr. Gunter is great. After seeing some things on the internet, I was a little leery about getting the rhinoplasty. I had had it done once before, but the result was not what I was looking for. I found Dr. Gunter and I am so glad that I decided to go through with the surgery! My nose looks great, exactly what I had hoped for. Of course complications are a risk with any and every surgery, but that is just a risk that one must take, regardless of the surgeon. The care I received was five star-- Dr. Gunter and his CRNA called me the night before my surgery to check on me, as well as the night after. I had broken my nose during a high school softball practice. I was 18 at the time of the incident. My parents researched several plastic surgeons and I had reconstructive surgery several months after the incident. I developed MRSA Staph infection while at the hospital which led to my extended stay in the Baylor Downtown ICU. Several weeks and several surgeries later, the infection had cleared. During my stay at the hospital, I had to endure two central lines, scans, multiple surgeries and memories of the Chaplin preparing my parents for the worst. With MRSA being almost unheard of back in 1998 and the infection being so close to my brain, my "crooked" nose was the least of my worries. Once the infection cleared, I was so thankful. My nose did not look like it had prior to my surgeries and it did not have a "normal" look to it since the surgeries. After so much of the bone was removed in order to treat the Staph, I was left with an abnormal nose, aesthetically speaking, and more importantly I could barely breathe out of either nostril. Fourteen years passed and I had never considered having any additional work done to my nose because the aesthetics just didn't matter to me and over the years I had grown accustomed to the new look of my nose/face. However, I developed issues being able to sleep and was having difficulties functioning during the day due to the exhaustion. I had sleep tests done and sought after several professional opinions. The conclusion was clear. My nasal passages were almost completely blocked and as my bridge was practically non-existent, one side of my nostril had collapsed over the years. One side had 5% airway and the other had 2%. As the problem persisted, I began to consider having my nose fixed; however, after three separate consultations, I found that most surgeons would not take on my case due to the complexity and my past dealings with MRSA. We were recommended to Dr. Gunter by two other well-known plastic surgeons in Dallas. One in particular recommended Dr. Gunter enough to advise me that if he had a daughter facing similar issues, he would trust Dr. Gunter to help her. I went in for my initial consultation, met with Dr. Gunter, his staff and Dr. Cochran. A few weeks later, I had my surgery. Dr. Gunter performed the secondary rhinoplasty (correcting the previous damage and reopened my airways). Dr. Cochran performed the rib bone transplant (taking part of my rib and putting it in my nose to help rebuild the bridge that had been removed in 1998). The Gunter Center had me under close watch. They provided me with very strict pre-op instructions and went the extra mile to ensure contracting MRSA or any form of Staph would be highly unlikely. I stayed the night in the surgery center and was released the next day. Dr. Gunter's staff called to check on me several times and when we had questions and needed to speak to Dr. Gunter, he was very quick to return our calls. I was scheduled to come in for several post-op visits (5-6), including my one year anniversary visit which just past in November 2012. Dr. Gunter's nurses and staff, as well as the other surgeons, are very professional. They take time to answer your questions, understand your history and educate their patients. I would absolutely recommend The Gunter Center to anyone in need of cosmetic surgery. Dr. Gunter had a very good reputation, so I felt confident he would do a "good" job, but my results were far better than "good." My nose looks amazing and more importantly, I can now breathe which has improved my overall quality of life. I had a broken nose a couple years ago. Had the center here straighten the septum and clean the sinus cavities. I've had mucous buildup and blocked airways ever since. Once these doctors get your money they could give a shit less about you. read more
