Exceptional service, knowledge and inventory. I've been a customer for 15+ years. I've purchased rifles and shotguns, ammo and accessories. They've fixed and help troubleshoot simple and complex problems. I get information on new products, reviews on what they're seeing at dealer events. They sell quality products that represent value over high cost alternatives. All the guys are hunters, shooters and outdoorsman. Go in and talk to them and you'll likely be shocked at the knowledge. The store is small and can get very busy at times on the weekend. Need something? They'll help order it if it's not there. I travel to shoot long range. My previous trips here were great, but I felt COMPLETELY unwelcome this time. Other customers there were more helpful than the clerk. I went looking for a .22 plinker. Picked one out that another customer found on the floor stock, because the clerk said they didn't have any.. they did. In my previous travels here I was able to cash and carry without the Illinois 1 day wait, since I wasn't buying it in IL. But he decided to tell me that AFTER I paid for my item, when I asked him what changed he said laws in IL. Fine I get it laws can be annoying, but his attitude was horrible, after he ran my card he pretty much forgot I was there. Well if my luck didn't improve.. oh wait it didn't. The same guy from Saturday was there when I went to pick it up. So when I noticed that I expected low quality service as the door closed behind me, I was right. I asked him about a small scope for it (its a plinker) and he sells me the scope rings, but doesn't even suggest a scope that might fit the rifle. He just plopped them on the counter like I was some A$$h01e. And then gave me the "I have better things to do"body language. I went there for a good selection AND knowledgeable staff. My very first visit to this establishment, there was a different person working the floor, I picked out a rifle, he said you need to oil it, sold me some over priced oil, and some iron sights, and a case and a key to adjust the iron sights. It didn't bother me that the products were over priced (they weren't THAT overpriced), I was so happy with the service since I had no clue what I was buying at the time. He sold me a rifle, sights, a case for the rifle AMMO for the rifle he, had me setup.. and when I got home and was finally able to try it out, I was all setup. The most recent trip, the guy couldn't get me out of there fast enough, was entirely unhelpful. This plinker was a birthday gift, so I managed to go to Walmart and get the wrong scope there, but I will find one somewhere. They talk about places going downhill, from my perspective from my first visit.. they fell of a cliff :(. My second visit was good too. read more

This is a little gun shop packed from ceiling to floor with product. They are not very friendly and even though I was ready to spend a few hundred dollars I could not get anyone to talk to me or to even acknowledge my presence. The place apparently was filled with locals that they knew and since I was not a local that they knew they chose to ignore my presence and the few hundred dollars of product I had in my hand while I waited patiently for 20 minutes standing at the register. I am glad I stopped to see it but I won't be back. read more

Usually good prices on guns, and a good selection despite how tiny the building is. Unfortunately, a lot of guns aren't even on display, so you'll have to ask for something specifically if you don't see it. They also tend to "forget" if their website has something on sale, so make sure you have proof. Like others have said, the place is tiny and there's usually a few "regulars" hanging around, making it difficult to look around. And if you aren't a regular, you're probably going to be ignored. Even when you're ready to buy something they act like it's a hassle to have to stop talking to their friends and take care of you. They also love to play up political issues so they can charge ridiculous amounts for ammo. Then when you say you aren't interested, they say good luck finding it anywhere else! And then try to get rid of you as soon as possible. Even though money is tight, I've gotten to the point where I don't mind paying a little more for good service. read more

the selection was good, and the staff seemed knowledgeable enough. I was a first time buyer, and only had a vague sense of what I was looking for. They showed me a few items, but I wasn't sure, so I stepped back to think about the options and to let others to the counter because it was fairly busy. As I stepped away I heard the other counterperson say in a condescending tone "It helps if you know what you're looking for". I took that to mean that they don't have time for first time buyers, so I made my purchase elsewhere where they had time for me. read more

Don't deal with this ripoff artist, I tried to trade in a browning deer rifle, The owner did the usual point out all the flaws and say how undesirable this gun is,,,it was a blr in 270...nice gun, anyways,, I get it he needs to make a buck as well and that's fine I get that . But this guy is underhanded and Lies, he told me my gun was rusty on the inside and had definatly been dropped in the ocean or salt water recently,,I walked out in awe, I couldn't believe a gun shop owner would so blatantly try to rip me off and lie to my face...I can't imagine how many people this shop has ripped off, if you do get a gun here don't trade him your old one...he offered me 200.00 I traded it at gander outdoors for 550.00 credit a half hour later. read more

I purchased a Remington 870 and my buddy bought a bushmaster ar. Check out was quick, people behind the counter were very helpful and more than willing to chat about firearms and such. Good group of people over there. The people complaining about going to a gun shop and not knowing anything about guns need to do some research and not get so butt hurt about it. It's not up to the shop to pick a gun for you you're the one buying it know what you're looking at. read more

I went to the shop knowing it would be small but full of inventory. Wow! What I'd heard was an understatement! The place is jammed packed with anything you could possibly want. From mags, scope mounts, ammo, sites, and gun,guns and more guns, I was in awe. If it's old they have it. If it just came out they have it. If for any reason you don't see it they will get it for you. I met with 2 people (1 being the owner) and they were both very helpful and courteous. I'll be back to buy more from them in the future. read more
