I liked there were a lot of toppings, and loaded with cheese, but for me the crust is everything and it was soft and slightly soggy.

When you enter the restaurant you might find it a bit quirky (the colour scheme and decor), but do not let this deter you from their outstanding food and quality of service! Within a minute or two of being seated, our waiter (he could have been the manager he was very professional), first brought us water and delightful warm Italian bread with amazing olive oil. Shortly after, our waiter then reviewed the specials and suggested the grilled octopus as a starter to share between the two of us. WOW, this was truly the best grilled octopus we have ever had! The dish was grilled to absolute perfection and the seasoning flavours were delightful. It was an adequate portion to share and would have been enough as a solo main dish for one. For mains we ordered the seafood lasagna and the chicken parmesan. The seafood lasagna was superb. Filled with a wonderful cream sauce and lots of fresh seafood, every bite was divine. The portion was large and almost enough for two. The chicken parmesan was amazing (also one of the best we have had), served with al dente fresh vegies and again, could have been a portion size for two. We both took leftovers home for lunch and they were great. Dining at this "hidden gem" was a wonderful experience! If you are looking for authentic Italian food, professional service, La Baia is definitely a place to visit.

The store front is small with a 2-3 seater high bench and plenty of table outside (except it was too cold to sit outside on a rainy October evening). My small pizza was going to take 25 minutes but they were able to make it 20mins. I got the dizzy d-lux as per my friend Jack's recommendation and it was truly delicious, wish I had gotten a larger size to share with everyone. Small was recommended a a a personal size pizza. Sad to know that I've found a truly amazing pizza place that's such a long drive away. By the time I got home an hour later, the pizza was not pipping hot anymore, I can't imagine how much better it was going to taste while it's fresh! I'd totally make a trip out for this pizza in the future. Dizzy d-lux - Marinara, Cheese, Pepperoni, Beef, Mushroom, Hot Banana Pepper, Basil, & Parmesan. Substituted the hot banana pepper with red pepper - how kind of her because i was worried that it would be too spicy. staff was friendly and knowledgeable in their recommendation.

Hats off to the team in the kitchen; the crust on the pizzas were nice and crispy, while the calzone had a perfect finish with a nicely chewy crust. The tuscan chicken and buddy bacon cheeseburgers were the house favourites. All and all, thanks for a great Mother's day dinner (and some amazing leftovers for tomorrow). We'll definitely be returning again.

We're originally from NY but let me tell you, Nonna Luisa Ristorante beats "the best," most well known Italian restaurants in and around NYC. Hands down. There's no way anyone could possibly leave this place feeling anything other than full, happy, and excited to come back. Like a true Italian family, Nonna's won't let anyone go hungry. We were planning on having dinner here one night but the ferry was late. By the time we pulled up it was already 30 minutes after they closed so we sat in our car parked across the street looking up what other places might still be open. The owner happened to be outside and shouts "Are you hungry?!" They had already cleared out for the night, there weren't people still sitting down eating. But he invited us in anyway. I would've expected our server Carmen to be annoyed because I'm sure she wanted to go home but instead she welcomed us in just like the owner did. We thanked her and apologized but she said "that's what we do here, we take care of people." They even gave us a free desert since we were celebrating a birthday. Come here because you're hungry, come here to celebrate, come here because you don't feel like cooking, come here because it's a random Wednesday... just come here.

She was on the ball, full of life, with a great smile. It was Wednesday, and you get 30% off wine, so why not share a bottle? I had a Caesar Salad and Mussels, and my better half had the Braised Short Rib Poutine. The Caesar was fresh, and the dressing was as expected. It was drizzled with Balsamic that added a nice twist as it was just a very small amount. Some chefs overdo it and in my mind, run the salad. The mussels had a red sauce that made me nervous at first. I'm traditional and like a garlic butter sauce. I was pleasantly surprised! It was light, and if I didn't see the color, I would have thought it was a lemon garlic sauce, amazing! The Poutine did not have a lot of meat, but the flavor was excellent and overall a great dish. If you are looking for a wonderful view on the coast with a great vibe, this is it! It's like the old-style beachfront place you would find in a movie. Seating is upstairs and its just has this old world feeling. Give it a try!

On their site the ask for a 2 hour time limit and I can see why. Service was a tad slow for my liking but it was quick enough. They gave a large menu and that includes many fish dishes. A good place to go if you want fish. I had the lamb shank which was delicious. Everything was hot when it came to the table. I'm a stickler for being served dinner. One diner ordered the crab bisque. They were sorry the didn't order the bowl. Lots of crab in it. Scallop and prawn salad was ordered and it was very good. The curry Kahula was excellent. The one down fall of this evening was the noise. It is open floor and tables were packed in there. There were a couple of larger parties seated as well. You are on the second floor and I didn't notice how to get a wheel chair or walker to the floor. Had to dock a star for the noise and handicap assesability. You also look out over the ocean and area and sunsets could no be beat having dinner there a must return place to try other dishes
