    Cheese wheel for fettuccine
    Nila S.

Amazing food and rustic atmosphere I felt like we were in Italy! Our first time here will not be our last. Pasta made in a cheese wheel. The place was packed from opening at 4:30 but we were able to get a table for 7 within minutes. I ordered from their board the seafood Risotto it was stuffed with so much seafood the tiger shrimps on top were HUGE! Portions were good and service was quick. Kinda loud and warm when we visited but worth it!!

We went to this place for my wife's birthday on a Sunday evening and I am so happy I made a reservation because this place was packed at 5pm. The server seated us pretty quickly and they have a huge specials menu that they go through and I ordered one of the specials which was described as a pasta dumpling. The food was great they had bread in the beginning and meat and grilled veggies also on the house. we had the tiramisu for dessert and it was amazing! Also they sang birthday for my wife in Italian which was great. The place has lots of seating but recommend doing a reservation via phone. Also it has great interior and there is plenty of parking near the restaurant.

We arrived at opening, and without a reservation, on a Saturday afternoon and were fortunate enough to get a table in the lounge. They served bread straight from the oven. Wow! We split the Caesar salad, which was a solid choice. I wanted something from their classic menu, so I ordered the Gnocchi Sorrentina. The gnocchi melted in my mouth. My boyfriend ordered an entree from the board--the cannelloni stuffed with pork belly, goat cheese, ricotta, and truffle. The tomato cream sauce was mind-blowing. For dessert, we split the Tartufo Classico. It would not have been my first pick, but it was good. Service was phenomenal from beginning to end, and we couldn't have asked for a more comforting setting.

Risotto with asparagus, clams, and prawns

This Italian restaurant is a popular place. I believe they are open for dinner only. Came here to celebrate friends anniversary. As usual, restaurant was packed and by the time we were served, a queue had formed. Everyone in our party said that their food was good. I ordered risotto with asparagus, clams in shell, and top with 2 prawns. The risotto was too salty for my taste but with a glass of Pinot Grigio to counter the saltiness, I was able to eat almost half of the portion served. I also felt it was pricey. They have a small menu on paper that shows prices that are reasonable but they also have menus that are written on the board with prices that are way higher imho. The place is a bit dark even with lighting and the ambiance is somewhat lively but loud. Our party has had a hard time to carry out conversations. Good thing our male server has loud booming voice so no issues hearing him.

    Inside the Veal Parmigiana

I recently found out that Nonna Luisa in Anacortes is an authentic Italian Restaurant AND they offered Veal Parmigiana! That just happens to be my favorite Italian dish and I haven't had it in DECADES! So, I just had to go try it! My wife and I decided to eat at Nonna's Friday night. We had a bit of difficulty finding it because I did not expect it to be on the other end of Rockfish Grill. We passed it twice before we spotted the sign When we entered and walked up to the hostess station they asked if we had reservations. Oh no. I replied "no", right then a voice behind us said "table 11". The hostess nodded and showed us to table 11. I'm guessing it was the owner or someone else in charge! Phew! We looked over the menu and noticed the average price was around $30, but no veal parmigiana! Then our server approached and asked us if we'd like to see the Chef's Board. We said sure. That was where ALL the yummy dishes were listed! Also, the average price went up to $50. There, at the end of the list, was the veal parmigiana that I was craving! I have to say that if I hadn't had my mind set on veal there were several other dishes that I would have had a very difficult time deciding on one! I did get my veal and it was fantastic! Well worth the wait and just like how I remembered it. The portion size was very generous. So much so that I had to get a box to bring half of it home! Service was very attentive as there were staff circulating past our table every couple of minutes. My wife and I decided to make Nonna's a regular dinner place. Probably once a quarter so we don't get bored with it

Dinner was amazing along with service! Carmen was amazing and Papa took good care of us, We went on a Tuesday and were accommodated gracefully! Very authentic Italian cuisine along with delicious drinks. If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine this is the place to go. One of a kind and very authentic if you are looking for Italian food without leaving the mainland. Ambience was amazing as well with very well curated music. We live almost 200 miles away and will be coming back solely for this restaurant. Thank you, papa!

Was very very busy on the Friday night we stopped by but the food still came out pretty quick. Staff was nice and efficient. The portions are huge so beware of that. Was expecting a little more elevated of an experience but all in all it hit the mark for the price. We got the bruschetta which was seasoned very well but it was served on stale, rock hard bread. A little confused why they didn't just put it on the delicious fresh bread they were serving for free. The rigatoni was a little disappointing and not very flavorful to us, but the smoked salmon pasta was very good- a lot of smoked salmon for the price. We also got a Negroni which was good and a margarita which was nothing special. Would try it out again!

I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our time at Nonna Luisa 's. From the greeting we received from Nick, to the exceptional service from Melanie as she described all the mouth watering choices, to the FOOD !! If we were fortunate to live in Anacortes we would dine there at least once a week

There is nothing not good to say about this restaurant. It is Italian perfection in every sense of the word. My absolute favorite!!!
