The staff and Doctor are very friendly, that is the reason for the second star. The issue is that they will upcharge you and oversell you in order to charge you and your insurance the maximum amount possible. And you might not know they're doing it until later because they're so friendly to you in the office. For example, when you walk in for your appointment, they have you sign the typical forms. One of the forms is consent for an extra exam (I think its for Glaucoma, but I could be wrong). I DECLINED this extra service because it is an extra fee and I am young and have healthy eyes. Unbeknownst to me, they went ahead and did this extra test anyway and I didn't realize it until I looked at my bill after the appointment. This is super shady and really unappreciated. As another example, I called recently to order a six month supply of contacts. They told me if I waited another couple of weeks to order, I would get $150 of it covered by my insurance because my benefits renewed. What they PURPOSEFULLY NEGLECTED to tell me is that in that time my prescription expired. So I would need to come in to have an eye exam to get my contacts. This was clearly a scheme to get me to come in for an exam a few months earlier than I was already scheduled to have one so that they could charge my insurance. They ended up rewriting my prescription for me anyway, but only because I begged/fought them on it. I just shouldn't have to do that. read more

Great doctor and staff. Wanted to get a thorough eye exam and my previous shop had closed down. Happened by Dr. Dayyani's shop as it was next door to Lotus Dim Sum where we going for dinner. Staff Tanaz and Cyrus were both very friendly, upbeat and professional. Made you feel welcome. The doctor was very thorough during my examination. He spent more time examining my eyes, testing various lenses and answering my questions then previous exams I've had over the years. My current lenses were not bad, but my updated prescription for night driving is spot on! I definitely recommend this place! I had to get glasses for the first time in my life, and I'm SO glad I walked into Dr Dayyani's. I've been putting off getting glasses for no other reason than I refused to officially enter the "old guy" phase of my life, but when you can't even make out things on the menu, you know it's time. First, Dr Dayyani is the warm-hearted kind of doctor you see in Disney movies. He is gentle, reassuring, and my exam went much longer than planned as we got to know each other. He's a wonderful family man, and clearly extends his family values to his clients. You can't help but feel like you've known him in a previous life. Once my eyes and prescription were determined, the manager, Syrus, extended the family warmth. He is incredibly welcoming, and made sure I was comfortable with my eyeglass choices. Unfortunately, I have expensive taste, so my first pair of glasses will cost me more than my first car (granted, it was a 3rd hand Buick Regal), but because I was getting more than one, he was able to take care of a few expenses so my bill didn't break the bank. Just got my first progressive eyeglasses from Dr Dayyani Eye Care. Dr Dayyani was very thorough with his eye exam with emphasis also on educating you on eye health. His support staff were extremely friendly and personable. I am every happy with the silhouette frame they recommended. It is extremely light and flexible. I even forgot that I am wearing glasses at times. The progressive lens prescription was very comfortable and I did not get any eye strain even on my first day of wearing it.I got adjusted to it really quickly. I saw Dr. Dayyani for contact lenses and glasses but he quickly found out that I have other medical issues with my eyes. He created a treatment plan for me and prescribed me the necessary medication. Dr. Dayyani was very helpful and knowledgeable, having quick solutions to my issues. After the check up, I decided to purchase some glasses, as I have a prescription. They have a big selection of frames that range from high end to mid range with various styles and colors. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about optics and helped me find the frames that would look best on me considering my prescription and facial structure. I came in here pretty spur of the moment because I had just started a new job and needed to max out my insurance from my previous job. Dr. Dayyani was okay as an eye doctor. His office was dimly lit and the desk he worked on was pretty messy, which made me uneasy. He did recommend a pair of monthly contacts that wouldn't be so dry for my eyes (I was using Acuvue Oasys biweeklies), and gave me a complimentary pair to try. They've been great so far, so no complaints there. I ended up deciding to get a pair of glasses with my leftover insurance money, since I wanted to test the monthly contacts before I committed. Had no idea what I wanted or what looked good, and I was almost going to just switch out the lens of my existing glasses. Tanaz let me try a bunch on, and she put these FENDI glasses on me. I really wasn't too stoked about the price, but she was right that they looked amazing--I got loads of compliments in the 2 days I wore them out! Every follow up call I've received from her she has made sure to ask me about them, and I really appreciate her thoughtfulness and sharp memory. FYI for everyone who posted about Tanaz--she used to be the Director of Customer Experience for a dot com company--SHE'S BRILLIANT AND TAKES CARE OF SHIT. An A plus experience all through my visit. Dr. Dayyani is the by far the best and most experienced optometrist I have been to. Over the years , many optometrists have tried to fit me for the best fit of contact lens for my eyes and have been unsuccessful. Don't go here. I had an eye exam here last year. The eye exam was split into two separate tests and I received a bill for more than $1200 for the second test. This was a test that was included as part of a normal eye exam at my last optometrists. When I called about the fee for the second exam, I was told they boosted the fee to get the insurance company to pay as much as possible. My insurance autopaid the full amount which cleaned out my benefits for the year. Dr Dayani's staff were very reluctant to provide me with a written prescription and their eyeglass prescriptions expire after one year vs most places who support your prescription for two years. read more
