I've been a long-time patient at this office and have always appreciated the care of the optometrist, who is excellent -- knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. There is also one gentleman who helps with frame selection (I regret I can't remember his name), but he is truly exceptional at what he does. His eye for matching frames to faces is remarkable -- I would honestly pay him independently for his help because he's that good. Unfortunately, the retail experience has become deeply frustrating and disappointing. I recently came in to have prescription lenses added to a pair of sunglasses. A full week later, I returned to find clear lenses had been installed instead -- and no one had reviewed or checked the order before I was called in to pick them up. At the same time, I was encouraged to replace the lenses in an older pair of glasses, even though the prescription change was barely noticeable. During the lens replacement, the staff broke my frames -- and not only did no one apologize, but the whole incident was treated as if it were a nonissue. When I asked for a comparable replacement for the frames they had broken, they seemed genuinely surprised that I'd even ask. There was no attempt to take ownership, no willingness to work with me, and no sense of accountability. I was told I had a "credit" toward new frames, but due to the brands they carry, there was no realistic way to get a new pair without out-of-pocket cost -- and if that was somehow possible, it was never explained. When I questioned how this could be considered fair, I was pointed to a small sign posted in a far corner of the store, nowhere near where the service occurred. There was zero empathy, zero transparency, and zero effort to make things right. I've referred many friends to this practice, and my wife is also a patient. I've never been treated so poorly at any business -- let alone one I've supported and trusted for years. While the optometrist and the frame specialist remain excellent, the overall retail experience at CCO has deteriorated into indifference and a lack of accountability. There are many choices for eyewear and eye care in this area. If you're considering CCO, I strongly recommend thinking again -- and I say that as someone who has been a loyal customer for a very long time. read more

I received a birthday email stating that if I purchased sunglasses that the prescription lenses would be free. The assistant manager had no idea of this promotion. When she tried entering the code it wouldn't work and they tried charging for the lenses as well. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she was one. When I asked for the Regional managers number she refused to give it to me. She gave me a "customer service" number that was useless. It seems like it's a bait and switch email. Recently I had a problem with my eyes after an eye test, they had me come back in and re-tested my eyes for free to make sure my eyes were working as they should be. They really did care. If you have the option, go anywhere else that has the frames you want. These guys up charge you without telling you they're doing it. Unless you know the right questions to ask you will be over charged. Fortunately, I used to sell glasses like this so I know what questions to ask, but I'm sure many people get played by them. Last Saturday in a TV binging haze I sat on my glasses, and since I had a screening to go to the next night I freaked out -- but found this store on yelp. I called the next morning and Soren (the manager) answered and said he could take a look but no guarantees -- fast forward to going in Sunday afternoon and getting my glasses fixed in 5-10 minutes while I browsed their beautiful frames. Soren couldn't have been nicer, and didn't charge me for reshaping the mangled frames (!!!) -- doubly amazing because most optical places were closed on Sunday. I was really impressed with the store's selection - Robert Marc (which is hard to find outside of NYC) and I couldn't resist trying on some Dita frames. The frame pricing runs on the high end -- but their designer selection is gorgeous and I was so grateful for Soren's friendliness and impeccable service. Highly recommend! read more

This place isn't necessarily the worst, BUT they are sloppy, sloppy, sloppy - and if you don't majorly manage them, you won't get a half decent customer service experience. So if you do not babysit them from the get-go, be prepared for disappointment. If you do want to put in the extra work of micromanaging them, then you hopefully will be ok; if not annoyed by having to do the due diligence they should be doing. Can your eyes be examined by them? Yes. Can you get contact lenses from them? Yes. Can you get glasses from them? Yes. Will they actually put in the necessary work to ensure you get the proper things that you are paying them money for? No. First off, do not expect any call or update about when your order of lenses is in. Over two weeks went by (even though I was only supplied a 5-day amount to hold me over) and zero phone call, email, or text about my order. I had to go in and ask if my order had arrived. It had arrived, but there was absolutely ZERO explanation or answer as to when it had, how long it had just been sitting there, or why no one had reached out letting me know I could pick it up (even though they said they would). Secondly, the order placed is wrong. The temporary supply of lenses provided to me were based on the prescription that had been told to me by the optometrist and I had the discarded packages to prove it. However, apparently the entire order and prescription written down was different EXCEPT for the fact that they had stapled the correct covers of the lenses given to me to my information. So how come the correct contact lenses, that had been given to me, are stapled to a form that has completely different and incorrect information? -and I come back in to flag and explain this and it's now my problem because it's going to be work to order the correct lenses? -and I'm asked if I can just keep this incorrect order? How is that healthy? Or professional? Or acceptable? Do not just assume that due to the location within the Westfield Century City Mall that you are going to get some sort of tolerable level of customer service. Because you probably won't. read more

Great initial examination and consultation, but the follow up left much to be desired. Friendly, seemed genuine and sincere but that changed when we picked up the glasses and complained that both the original Maui Jim and replacement lenses for the Prada's were incorrect and clearly not what was prescribed. Service was standoffish and snotty from then on. Just came in for an eye exam and the staff was all very sweet, the optometrist was very knowledgeable, and one of the staff even helped me find out that I did have vision insurance and it covered the cost of my eye exam! A large variety of frames to choose from too. The whole thing only took less than 30 minutes and was very quick in and out. After trying on 20-30 pairs of glasses and not finding anything perfect, Soren offered to specially order a pair of Lindberg frames he knew I would like based on my comments throughout our 1 hour fitting. He did this with no strings attached and I didn't even have to buy them if I didn't like them! Unsurprisingly I ended up loving the frames (Soren has such a knack for picking up on exactly what you like). He also got me the best price to maximize my insurance coverage and patiently helped me pick out all the bells and whistles that Lindberg frames come with. But once your money has been paid and is in their pockets, customer service will be non-existent. I've been going to the place for years for my exams and this year has been the worst! The place has gone down in service and it seems it's all just money driven now. No longer is the place of wanting the customer to see their best. This last exam it was rushed and not confirmed if I could see my best with whatever changes were necessary. I felt is the a bit off but it just got worse. I was told by Kevin that he would email my new prescription. I allowed 2 days and still nothing. I had to call and get the office to send it. They forgot to include my computer prescription so I had to call back again. Super sloppy! I was getting ready to buy some glasses online and the site needed a PD. I had to call the office AGAIN and ask them for it. I was told I needed to come back in to get measured. Why is this not done at the time of the exam. If it is needed in order to get glasses, just do a complete exam! I spoke with Kevin again and he was so rude about it. As an office manager, if you have an unsatisfied customer, long-time customer too, one should try an make things right. From the look of some of their review here on Yelp on Google, they are like this with other customers. Bottom line, all I wanted was a complete eye exam. I should not have to come back and get measured for something that should have been done at my appointment. I also should not be talked to in a demeaning tone because I don't purchase my glasses at their location. First of all, I don't like their selection. Secondly, when I was looking at the selection, another customer walked in to pick up their glasses, Kevin left me to go tend to this other customer. That's a 100% no-no in retail. Tsk, tsk. I could have possibly been a potential sale but with customer service like that, I will take my money somewhere else. I called my insurance and I am now able to go to another eye doctor to get a complete and thorough exam. According to the Dr. my contact Rx did not change. Well that was incorrect! I went home to try my same Rx and yep, it's not the same. I called the office to get my contact exam refunded and they said no. Very poor customer service is very bad for your business. So I called but to make sure that they were in fact on time for my appointment and going to be ready for me, only to show up have them make me wait 25 minutes while they "are just finishing up" with a patient. It only took 20 minutes once I got in but since i only budget 45 minutes for the appointment, that they said would only take 20 minutes, I was late returning to work. they knew they were running late but didnt bother to tell me.
