The parking in the area is very much street with both residential and metered spots down and around Tujunga Ave between Moorpark and Woodbridge. They do have restrooms inside though theme nights and shows don't typically run too long. Allen Levin, the owner, is a saint fielding calls for questions and managing sales and lineups. Definitely had a great and positive experience with NCLA and would attend again.

Although we were all technically legal adults, I still think there is something very sleazy about an authority figure in his 40s swaying 18 and 19 year old aspiring actors to perform nude with him. Of course, he tailored his messaging toward empowerment-- all bodies are great bodies, and all bodies are welcome. The reality, however, was that most of these students were recent L.A. arrivals with little working knowledge of the entertainment industry. It's hard not to recognize the power imbalances at play and potential vulnerabilities being exploited. Having said that, I will not disparage the talent that came out of these shows, and I will commend the owner's rules regarding privacy (no cameras allowed) and hygiene (towel is required).

We saw that there was a play called Jane Austen Unscripted being held outside the theater in back of the building. 8 of us decided to go and got a table just in front of the stage. It was lunchtime and local stores and restaurants provided some munchies, one per person, like fruit tarts, berry scones, a cupcake and cucumber tea sandwich. When reading the "program" we saw it was going to be improv with members of the Impro Theater, and as we've been to improvs before we know that it can be great or not so much. We, and every table at the show, thought it was a fantastic show. The actors did a great job that had us laughing and enjoying it to the 10-star degree. We understand that there's a bit of a different show based on the actors and audience response, but our show was great! It's still playing for a little while so if you can and like Jane Austin and improvisation definitely go see it!

Like most of these small theaters there are no assigned seats. The theater is comfortable, every has good seats and the seats were comfortable When entering this very small theater the lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly, confirmed that we had tickets and at one point told everybody that if they had to go to the bathroom that they have a deal with a restaurant/bar about 4 doors away, which people appeared to take advantage of as they let us in about 7:15 for a 7:30 show. Art Shulman, the writer of the play, greeted us in the lobby and was very nice. He later got on stage at the beginning of the play to explain how and why he wrote this play. The street that the theater is on has many restaurants and next time we come we'll probably find a restaurant on the street to eat and/or have a drink. The play itself was okay, two married seniors, their pregnant daughter and her husband. The four of us thought it started kind of slow but did get better after intermission. It was very nice that the actors and writer were available to chat after the play ended.

I have gone to almost 20 different acting schools both in England and the United States and I can say, with total confidence, that Max Decker at MAD Acting Studio is the most brilliant teacher with whom I have ever had the pleasure of studying. It took one evening in class with Max for me to instantly mourn all the money I realized I had honestly wasted studying under teachers who, at the end of the day, just spent endless hours pontificating nothing more than their love for the sound of their own voice. Teachers who, if they worked as actors at all, had maybe had one or two jobs in their entire "careers" and felt that was enough for them to call themselves teachers. Max has not only worked in this industry a long time and accrued an enviable resume, he really knows how to teach others to do this thing really, really well. He won't blow smoke up your skirt and always say how great you to keep you spending money to stay in his class. He will actually -teach- you to be a better actor. He will call you out on what's getting in your way and offer invaluable, constructive help. Even after visiting multiple times, the interior still manages to wow us. It's one of those places where you walk in and find yourself looking around before you even think about the show. Such a gorgeous theater with so much character! The seating is comfortable, too. We sat in the very last row of the main floor and were pleasantly surprised. The seats are nicely tiered, so the person in front of us didn't block our view at all. And honestly, the last row has its perks! When the show ends, you can make a quick escape to the restroom and beat the crowd. Consider it strategic seating. The sound system is definitely powerful. If you have sensitive ears, I'd recommend bringing a pair of earplugs--especially for those big musical numbers when the theater really turns it up! Otherwise, it's such a lovely place to see a show. Beautiful architecture, comfortable seating, great views, and plenty of old-school theater charm. We'll definitely be back for the next show!

When I showed up I could tell there were people that have been doing this group for a long tIme. Well there's a reason for that. Eartha is, simply put, magic. Her smile is infectious. She's got so much swagger. As a new mom going to her class was like going out to a club except I didn't have to get dressed up or stay out late. I could just close my eyes, get down, and lose calories! But don't close you eyes too long haha. You've got to work for that class WERK. People tell me to try out their Zumba class i just nod and smile because i know there could NEVER be a class that compares to Eartha. She's like a fairy i love her!
