I'm a little upset because I wanted to call ahead and order a breakfast sandwich knowing they stop serving breakfast at 2 and I was going to get there right at 2 and I figured it would be busy because it's the weekend and I could skip the line. I called, no answer, called again and again still no answer which is fine they could be busy. I get inside and there's one person in line and so many tables open. Now, sadly, I have to get lunch, whatever it's okay. I ordered a cali-blt on gluten free. It took quite a while to make this. Finally i was eating it and enjoying it and about six bites in I realized I didn't have turkey or avocado on it so now its just a basic blt that I paid 13 dollars for. I brought the sandwich and receipt up asking for a refund or if i could just pay for the blt instead of the cali-blt which is double the price of a normal blt. the cashier said he can't give me a refund because I already ate half but he could just give me the turkey and avocado. That just made me really upset because i didn't order half a cali-blt and that's what I would be getting and I also don't want to have to deconstruct my sandwich to put the turkey and avocado on it. I would've been fine with a refund and paying for the regular blt but I just left sad. read more

I have always loved coming here. It is a great place to stop by when you need a quick bite to eat, and quality is always good. However, the past 4 times I have gone to eat here, the sandwiches have had multiple hairs in them. I will take a few bites of my sandwich, either a breakfast sandwich or deli, and look down only to see a variety of black hairs. There has been both long, wiry black hairs and short black hairs, which is very unappetizing. I understand that maybe there is a mess-up once or twice, but this has been a consistent issue. I will not be coming here anymore until I see the workers tie their hair back properly. It is completely unacceptable to have that many hairs in a sandwich, even any at all. Given that the food is pretty pricey, there should be a good quality for it and hairs does not exactly scream good quality. Be aware when eating their food, you may look down to see a couple black hairs in there! read more

I've been eating chase streets breakfast sandwich's and coffee for a few years now as I am a junior at Plymouth State. Weekend mornings here are generally pretty busy and I can understand that it may take a little longer for each order due to the amount of customers at once. Unfortunately this past time I had ordered two breakfast sandwich's at 10:43 and after receiving our order 4 times incorrectly we left at 11:56 with our sandwich's. From having restaurant experience I understand it can get stressful but this was simply pathetic. L I don't see myself going back here any more in the future due to their poor staff and horrendous customer service as we did not receive any form of compensation due to our absurd wait. Chase Street Market is a small grocery with a deli and large wine section. We stopped in for a quick bite at the deli counter. You can make your own sandwiches with a wide array of meats, cheese, veggies, and breads, or choose from a limited menu of signature sandwiches. My husband ordered the Italian sub, and I got the Curry Chicken Salad. When our sandwiches were done, they wrapped them and put them on the counter, never saying a word. Now, there were about 10 people crowded around the deli case waiting for sandwiches. They could at least call out the order that was ready. The Italian sub was SKIMPY on the meat. 1 thin slice of each meat and cheese, the flavor almost lost among the veggies. The curry chicken was pretty good, with bite-sized chunks of chicken and cranberries. Could have used a little more curry flavor; it was a little weak. They were more generous with my chicken salad than the cold cuts, which was disappointing. Sandwiches run between $5 to $8. There are some tables at the front of the shop if you want to eat there, or you can take your pre-wrapped sandwiches to go. read more

I was looking for some free wifi and ended up here. The store itself is cute, and they have a good selection of local beer. The deli guy was nice, and tried to explain how to pay. Yes, you actually need an explanation. I would think that shops would make AT LEAST that part clear. :P If you get coffee from what I will call "the coffee section", you have to pay for it there. They are two separate stores. If you get a sandwich you pay at one of the store counters. But only THAT counter if you have a credit card... Blah blah. The breakfast sandwich was good but not remarkable, and I'll probably be back for more coffee and wifi. read more

Normally I'd rate this place five stars. Great craft beer selection, attached to the best espresso place in the region and an excellent deli. But yesterday, late morning, I stopped in to get take-out sandwiches and was shocked to see such a casual attitude about the corona virus pandemic. I saw three employees and between them I counted zero face masks and one rubber glove. The only face masks were on me, and on a delivery guy. At two counters, there was no way to maintain a six-foot buffer. I'll revise my one-star review when I see that this otherwise excellent business is doing its part in fighting the pandemic. read more

My wife and I were browsing at Chase St recently when some steaks in the meat case caught my eye. The were cryovac packs about one pound each marked "Bavette" sirloin steak @ $13.50 per lb. I'm pretty familiar with types of beef cuts but had never heard of a bavette cut. I inquired and was told it was a thick cut "melt in your mouth" sirloin steak, so considering the price I'm thinking high-end strip sirloin. At home I open the package and discover it's "flap" sirloin, good for steak tips and $4.99 at BJs or maybe $5.99 at supermarkets. No difference in grade either. Definitely got ripped off at $13.50 and they got away with it by changing name to obscure "Bavette" label when it's called flap sirloin at other markets. We always try to support independent businesses but next time we'll choose the Hannafords down the street. read more

I picked up a sandwich and some chips for a quick lunch in the park. The bread is abysmal. I don't know if it is Pepperidge Farms or what, but it tastes like Aldi-level processed, preserved bread. Not fresh tasting at all, which is surprising given the traditional / artisanal nature of most of the products in this area. I've hung around Plymouth - and Biederman's - for years, and buy all my coffee at Cafe Monte Alto, because the beans are roasted on-site, the coffee is fabulous, and it's only $11/lb. But today was the first time I'd ordered a sandwich at the Chase Street Market, which is part of the complex. Now, a sandwich is a sandwich, but there IS a difference between a sandwich made with care and - well, let's say love for lack of a better word - and a production-line sandwich like you get at Subway. I wish I could include a photograph of my Italian cold cut sandwich, so you could see what I mean wnen I say skimpy. The bun is the size of a hot dog bun, somewhat longer than one. Three slices of meat and one of cheese, sliced so think you could read a newspaper through them. I asked for hots, and got a dribble covering about an inch in the middle of the sandwich. Honestly, this sandwich is 75-90% bread. And to add insult, this sandwich cost SEVEN DOLLARS AND NINETY-FIVE CENTS. I regularly go to another deli in Lexington, Mass, called Avenue Deli where I get a sandwich that is two-thirds meat and cheese and one-third bread for a dollar less. This sandwich was a rip-off.
