The class started on time with a cute warm up to get the blood flowing, then we did some light cute stretches, and lastly we danced! Kirsten was kind, friendly, and encouraged all of us to move as we see fit, ask questions, and do what we came to do (burn calories, be sexy, or learn new dances). Overall I was super glad I came and this will be a place I come when in town! I definitely broke a sweat and yes it's a heels class but no you don't have to wear them!

This is a great hobby for couples to learn together and spend quality time with one another. This is key to learning how to dance as real world practice is essential. But, sometimes you don't know where to go, may be embarrassed to dance in places you aren't familiar with. At these events, most of dance studio is present and so you always have familiar faces. The studio is spacious with all kinds of fun memories on the walls from dance competitions and trophies, etc. There are many tables for in studio events and studio rentals. Most classes are one hour long from my understanding. For adult classes, it's 10$ per class or you can get the 80$ card for 10 classes. I personally have been taking the hip pop classes and it's load of fun. New songs and dances every week, so won't be too repetitive. Weather you can dance or not, I believe you'll have fun and enjoy yourself. They have an Instagram (@safiyyahdance) you can follow if you want keep up to date and of course pictures and videos.

I usually try to go to Monday, Tuesday or Thursday night's, which is intermediate, beginner, and advanced in that order. Wednesday can be heels or something like twerk. They also have hip hop fitness Tuesday before the beginner class. Check the site or call for schedule. They also have a competitive dance team for kids to teenagers. They are really good and win awards all the time. You can drop in or get a class card. Students pay $5 with a student ID. I believe drop in is $10. They also have guest choreographers or workshops every now and then, usually on Saturdays. Instructors are personable and will challenge you. A great mental and physical challenge, definitely try it!

I personally waited 5-10 minutes after the class started to wait for you as Sheila had a responsibility to begin class on time for the other attendees. After waiting, I then locked the doors to join class as I had intended to participate as a student. The doors must be locked for the safety and security of the clients, instructors, and the building. A grace cancellation credit has been added to your account as a one-time courtesy. All class packages are non-refundable, except in the case of illness or injury with documentation from your doctor. My daughter also had her birthday party party here and loved it. They teach all ages in the building and it is super fun to see the students practicing. Though, there is a receptionist desk close to the entry door that provides a psychological separation between the entryway and the dancefloor. The receptionist was the owner of the studio (I think) and was very welcoming, friendly and informative. Around the back walls, there are chairs and storage cubbies for you to place any personal items. The front walls are lined with mirrors so that dancers can see themselves and position their bodies appropriately. Clean restrooms are on the side furthest away from the entry door. Complimentary bottled water was given to us, the students. I'm not sure if this was offered by the studio or our particular instructor, but the water was a Godsend midway through the dance class. The studio is easy to access off Hurstbourne Pkwy and is just north of Lowe's. I enjoyed my class here and would enjoyed taking other classes in this space.
