She's been very patient and very helpful with us, given the difficult project we presented her (in content and talent level of the dancers). She's been very kind and she's able to explain things to us in a way that we can understand. She is receptive to our input and works with us to make sure we're happy. The locale is tucked in a little corner next to a brewery, but there's an ample dance floor. Our lessons came in a 10-pack, each 45 minutes long. We'll keep coming back! Would definitely recommend.

The types of beginner classes change monthly. For January they offered Tango and East Coast Swing. You can do one class for $10 or two classes for $15. Dance Louisville has additional group classes a couple nights a week and they also offer private lessons. After your first group class you can even get a 30 minute private dance lesson for free! Our instructor very friendly and easy to follow. You learn leader steps, then follower steps, then you partner up with music to practice. You get plenty of time to cover the basic steps and they make sure everyone has a chance to ask questions or get more personalize practiced. In an hour time, about 45 minutes is the lesson and the last 15 minutes are used as free practice with music. My partner and I picked up the moves and had a really great time trying something new. My partner was originally just going for my interest but by the end grabbed the dance calendar and said he was willing to come back.

Visited this studio for an Introductory Bollywood dance class…read more The studio is a large bright and airy room. There is no ante chamber or foyer before you step into the dance area. Though, there is a receptionist desk close to the entry door that provides a psychological separation between the entryway and the dancefloor. The receptionist was the owner of the studio (I think) and was very welcoming, friendly and informative. Around the back walls, there are chairs and storage cubbies for you to place any personal items. The front walls are lined with mirrors so that dancers can see themselves and position their bodies appropriately. Clean restrooms are on the side furthest away from the entry door. Complimentary bottled water was given to us, the students. I'm not sure if this was offered by the studio or our particular instructor, but the water was a Godsend midway through the dance class. The studio is easy to access off Hurstbourne Pkwy and is just north of Lowe's. I enjoyed my class here and would enjoyed taking other classes in this space.

As soon as I walked into their main lobby, I was warmly greeted by the owners and someone at reception. Everyone hanging before class was buzzing with excitement. Immediately surrounded by a feeling of community. I took beginner hip hop with Josh - a fabulous dancer and amazing teacher who brings all the good vibes your way. Check out their drop in classes first, then you will absolutely be hooked and want to get a package. Couldn't recommend enough. The studio is nice and big, the lobby and bathrooms are well-maintained, and there are so many cool classes going on between hip hop, contemporary, heels, modern... can't wait to be back there.

Check in was smooth at the front desk, there are cubicles for your things in the studio, and gender neutral bathrooms in the main lobby. The class started on time with a cute warm up to get the blood flowing, then we did some light cute stretches, and lastly we danced! Kirsten was kind, friendly, and encouraged all of us to move as we see fit, ask questions, and do what we came to do (burn calories, be sexy, or learn new dances). Overall I was super glad I came and this will be a place I come when in town! I definitely broke a sweat and yes it's a heels class but no you don't have to wear them!

My best friend asked me to attend a 2-hour dance class that would be taught by a cast member of…read moreHello Dolly which was touring in Louisville this week. I was skeptical that we would be able to keep up with the other dancers but agreed to go because the experience sounded unique and fun. The world of dance studios is unknown to me and I was certainly curious. He signed us up but did have some difficulty arranging payment. The studio required advance payment but did not except credit cards. Neither of us use Venmo so we weren't certain we would be able to book in, but the studio finally agreed to let him pay for our session by credit card. My understanding is they've had people sign up for the classes but did not show up and make payment that morning. Very disappointing when a class has limited space and potentially a waiting list. The studio is located in Saint Matthews. There is a small parking lot for Saint Matthews station which is shared by several businesses. The dance studio is upstairs. The owner of the studio greeted each person that walked in and checked us all registration. We did sign a liability waiver. My best friend and I are no spring chickens. We knew the class stated 10 years old - adult. Most of the students were teenagers. Including us only one other adult was participating. It was obvious each of these girls took dance lessons, especially with their professional shoes. I opted to hang out toward the back of class. It wasn't a good move for me personally because I struggled to see the footwork of the instructor but from a comfort level I certainly didn't want to be in front of other people. The instructor was fantastic! She had us warm up and then went right into a routine. We learned it in pieces and then did the full routine. She then broke us up into smaller groups and had us do the routine. Toward the end of class she taught a second small routine, and later answered questions from the students. It was obvious she'd conducted other trainings before. She was also very easy to understand, bright good energy, and really encouraged everyone. I was not a very good student but at least tried my best and certainly got in a decent morning work out that I would not have experienced anywhere else. The studio teaches a variety of classes and you can pay by the class. More guest instructors, including one from Hamilton, will be coming to the studio. The owner was extremely friendly and you can tell that she is passionate about her students. Check them out on their website or follow them on social media.

Lack of real performance opportunities and lack of continuity between the teachers. There is no set school curriculum. When I asked one teacher which method she teaches, it differed from the method of another teacher in the more advanced courses. High turn over among the staff. It seems that everyone is doing their own thing. The office staff doesn't seem to even know how to use the app to make payments. It just seems to be a hodge-podge of instruction. This place has so much potential if they have some consistent leadership.

We will not be able to delay the start of class for late arrivals. Any missed visits will go against your current class package. The instructor, myself, and several other students were there. I personally waited 5-10 minutes after the class started to wait for you as Sheila had a responsibility to begin class on time for the other attendees.
