I would absolutely recommend DPAWC to any pet owner. Dr. Sivula and his staff are fantastic! Brought our elderly, arthritic lab in last year looking for alternative therapies to ease her pain. After taking an extensive history of our girl, the doctor did a thorough examination. Explained his recommendations. Even diagnosed an issue our regular vet had not. I wanted a second opinion regarding alternatives to pharmacology, in managing my aging dog's health (just as I do for my family or myself). How lucky to find a holistic vet within a 5 minute drive from home! Only the first available appointment was about a month out. It was worth the wait. We were greeted by name as we entered for the first time, and were escorted to the "exam room". It was really more a replication of a small family room, complete with a fireplace, hearth with a basket of dog toys, fluffy dog pillow and cozy love seat. Book shelves filled with books, and other decorative touches made this a welcoming rather than clinical atmosphere. It was like sitting with a neighbor; her gentle pet touch is an examination. Gentle is the word that characterizes everything about this wellness center. Dr Sivula listened thoughtfully and, given his recommendations, well understood my concerns. Most impressive was the request for follow up ... the interest in knowing how my pet responds to a course of action. We're trying a nutritional approach with supplements. I used their online form to request an appointment. The appointments were three weeks out. Our dog had adverse effects after vaccinations by another vet and Dancing Paws had been recommended by a friend as a great holistic vet. I also sent an email on June 3, 2019. No response. Weeks later I called and no one answered - just a reference to call Metro Vet in case of emergency. Our dog is now dead. No hope here with this vet. They do not respond to their online appointment forms, emails and phone calls! read more

After a very brief exam ,Sivula gave our dog a completely inaccurate diagnosis of having a "sprained back". He then prescribed a course of treatment that was entirely inappropriate. Two months later our poor retriever was diagnosed by another vet with a malignant tumor and was euthanized after much suffering because we thought we were dealing with a sprained back. A simple x ray probably would have revealed the tumor which Sivula never bothered to do. I agree with the other reviewer who said he always seemed to be in a hurry. I don't trust this man. read more

We had been clients for 6 years with our 3 dogs. Yesterday, was the last straw. The vet himself, while vague in his communication skills, is calm and provides good treament. His office manager, who happens to be his wife, is rude, unprofessional and treats you as though you are garbage. We sucked it up as the treatment was working for our dogs. No more. We and our multiple dogs have been clients of Dr. Sivula for almost 15 years now...starting when his practice was still located within Metro Vet Hospital in Copley. His gentle, conservative treatment regimens have helped our dogs, from Kali, Dred & Gael, to our current pack" of Pellinore, Lily and Katie, tremendously! Therapies have ranged from hydrotherapy to chiropractic adjustment to acupuncture (traditional needle and laser) to herbal therapies and extracts...to palliative cancer care. He and his staff work so very well with our "wellness care"/traditional vet, so our dogs get the very best of both worlds from integrative veterinary medicine! Dr. Sivula has been, and remains, our "go to" vet for alternative therapies when our dogs haven't tolerated some types of traditional medications, as well as for adjunct therapies that work with traditional medications to enhance our dogs' overall health and well-being, after we have completed all recommended tests, imaging and procedures with our traditional wellness vet, some of which are the results of Dr. Sivula's recommendations. He has never attempted to "upsell" us on any treatment or product. To the contrary, he has been very conservative with our finances, in that regard. While we could appreciate the cozy atmosphere and attentive, kind techs at this clinic, we were not impressed with the Vet. He was certainly not forthcoming with recommendations nor impressions of our aging canine. He completed a hands on examination with palpation and manipulations, but never told us his findings. This seems rather strange, as an owner not only expects conclusions, but well meaning advise. Needless to say, we felt as though we were pulling teeth in our conversation. Totally uncool and inappropriate. Unlike another reviewer, we sensed an impatience in the Vet, and DID feel rushed. He may be a knowledgeable integrative Vet however, he could stand to ratchet up his interpersonal and communication skills. read more

I took my dear, older dachshund to Dancing Paws to determine whether acupuncture and/or hydrotherapy would be helpful in combating his IVDD. The staff at Dancing Paws is wonderful and I can't say enough about Dr. Sivula. I do believe that the treatments helped but, sadly, any gains were transitory and Zeus quickly became too fragile to tolerate the long (40 min) car drive to the Center. Nonetheless, I felt that it was useful and may have made Zeus's last months more comfortable. read more

Mary in AKRON, OHIO I cannot tell you how happy I have been with Dr. Sivula and Dancing Paws. I have seen incredible results in adding holistic to my normal vet care. Over the years I have taken many different dogs to Dancing Paws when standard veterinary care could do no more. Dr. Sivula always comes through with alternative care in addressing the problems. Two dogs have had their lives extended when the oncologist gave them Scully 3 months, and Dalton 6 months. Scully lived another 14 months and Quinio lived 18 months. I took my boy, Quinio,with severe bone on bone hip dysplasia since I rescued him at 7 years old. Quinio just passed at 14 years old and could still run short spurts and go up and down the stairs. It was a splenic hemorrage that too him. He is now treating Thomas that has liver failure. We are doing accupuncture, natural herbs and chiropractic care. His liver enzymes have dramatically dropped and Thomas is doing great right now. The staff has always been empathetic, kind, and truly care about our pets. I have taken foster dogs there. I know I wouldn't have had any of these dogs the additional length of time I did without his care. My GF took her paralyzed lab to Dancing Paws and Lucky started walking...wobbly...but he could walk. There are so many more miraculous stories I could write about. I am grateful for Dr. Sivula and all he has done and continues to do for my babies. He never prescribes something just to make money and always takes into consideration what you are able to spend. Dr. Neal Sivula and his staff are caring, supportive, knowledgable professionals. My Service Dog and Service Dog in Training go there once a month for a massage/adjustment in addition to their wellness treatments & vaccinations. My Labs love being there and are comfortable with every staff member. I trust them unconditionally as well. In fact, we travel about 45 miles each way in order to use Dr. Neal and Dancing Paws as our veterinarian. read more
