When I called with a question they told me I had to be seen today for $150 and when I said I didn't think it was that serious. I just had a question she rudely told me they didn't have anything available and I should just go to an emergency vet. Then I tied to make an appointment for a later date and she was so extremely rude I just told her it's okay. I'm going to find someone else. Another instance I had a problem with them was when I brought in my cat who kept throwing up and I was worried. They said "he's fine!" After charging me hundreds for bloodwork. A week or so later he got worse and I took him to an emergency vet and they took x rays and he had a bowel obstruction! The only good thing about this place is a few of the vet techs are sweet and you can tell they care about your pets.

It's not just the routine healthcare we appreciate, but it's the difficult issues where we've found comfort in knowing proper, loving care has been administered. Our dog, Jax, was been coming here for years for routine checkups and immunizations, but when it was discovered he had cancer in one of his dew claws, we were grateful that the cancer was skillfully removed with great care. Jax recovered fully. Then when Scout, one of our elderly cats, was so ill that he couldn't go on, the staff made him and us comfortable as we said goodbye to him. Their empathy and final care was so appreciated. And now, Steve, our Turkish Van of 13 years, has become ill and has been seen by both Dr. Ryan Gates and Dr. Eric Allie. I am so grateful to how kind, gentle and patient they were with him on both visits. Both vets were also patient with me, as I had so many questions for them, and they provided answers to everything. My wife and I deeply appreciate this clinic and staff for all they have done for our beloved pets.

My poor terrified cat and I waited 2 hours for this woman to say: I can't examine her. She's hissing and may scratch, bite." She refused to do any type of tests on her and said "try and antibiotic" for my cat peeing outside the box. This was not my cat having an infection. This woman is too cheap to hire help in her own vet. I would recommend going to a vet who doesn't complain about their customers and is nice when you ask for help. This was a waste of me and my cat's time. She was NASTY!

On April 15 my beloved dog had surgery at our regular veterinarian to remove a small tumor (marble…read moresize) on her hind leg. We were not given any indication that it looked "bad" before or after the surgery. A week passed and we went in because the incision was infected, and we found out that the biopsy reported Stage II Mast Cell Cancer, highly aggressive. We panicked, and were referred to an veterinary oncologist. We are very connected in the dog-world, and a friend referred me to Dr. Bestic instead, as he had treated her mastiffs for the same thing multiple times. I called VCH the very next morning at 7:30 a.m., and I was in their office by 10:30 a.m. They had transferred all of my dogs records, and Dr. Bestic was on the phone with an oncologist for a consult on the biopsy as well. We came up with a plan to go in to remove more of her muscle, and potentially amputate her leg if it had spread further. We were so lucky that Dr. Bestic was able to remove all of the cancer infected area, and we got a clean biopsy report in the week following! The staff at VCH are kind and friendly. They love our dog (she is pretty adorable), but they treated us as if we were a patient for years before. They have definitely gained our long term business. Dr. Bestic is a wonderful vet and he was very kind and sympathetic to the situation. His confidence and plan for treatment gave us relief when we were nothing but panicked. We met Dr. Shaker when it was time for stitches to come out, and she is also an absolutely wonderful veterinarian. She is very kind and caring! Our Nattie girl is healing up really well! The incision and technique Dr. Bestic used to clear her of cancer and stitch her up with a drain were top notch. She's feeling SO much better, and we are ever so grateful for VCH!
