This place is awesome! My husband and I stopped in before a wedding that we came in town for. We booked the experience on Airbnb and it was around $22 per person I believe, which is considerably cheaper than if we did this in Nashville. It's mostly self directed once you're give directions. We started with sniffing each scent and taking notes. We could pick up to 4 scents to create our product and then they made a sample for each of us on a cotton swab so we could confirm that we liked the scent. After that we were given our containers (I made a roller perfume & my husband made a soap) and combined it all! Came here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor for activities to do in Chattanooga. I love candles, so why not make my own? The young lady who helped me (Tiffany?) was very helpful and really let me do my thing when it came to choosing scents and mixing the oils. Good Fortune also offers many spa services as well. God bless this place, I had the BEST massage here today. I left in an oily pile of relaxation lol. I had a hour long deep tissue and the pressure was perfect. I find that most of the time it's not hard enough for me, but she checked in regularly and really let me have it (in a great way haha). I added on a hot oil scalp massage at the end cause it sounded delightful and IT WAS. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town. So we found this place on Airbnb Experiences and we did the candle making and lotion making. The place smells so good when due to all the essential and fragrance oils. The staff was very friendly with both experiences. We had so much fun doing these and smelling everything. I loved how they labeled which category the oils were so we could figure out the direction we want to go in. I did a lot of light smells and ocean type. What I did enjoy was we got the candle the same day because one I went to we had to pick it up the next day. The lotion was a great experience as well. The best thing is they will keep your card for the lotion on file and use the amount of drops so they can make it for you again and ship it to you. We did a spa party for a bachelorette weekend and had an absolute blast. I cannot recommend enough! Such a fun atmosphere. We stayed in the Airbnb upstairs and it was so nice just to walk downstairs after the shop closed. They had fun music playing and the two girls working the party could not have been any sweeter. First we smelt scents and wrote down our top 3 to make a product of our choice. They even have some suggestions if you are worried about getting it wrong. But the girls were really helpful letting us know what would and wouldn't work. Then we did facials and tried a bunch of different products and did eye masks. Don't EVER buy a gift card here. First of all they make you check that the gift certificate is only valid for 365 days and heaven for bid you misplace it. Besides the FEDERAL card act requires a gift certificate to be valid for a minimum of 2 years so that is completely against the law. My husband got these for me for a Mother's Day gift and I misplaced them. Just found them while cleaning out my email and thought I'd see if they would work with me. It was a flat and fast NO. I cannot say enough good things about Good Fortune Soap. I discovered this place while driving around on my lunch break one day. Since then I have customized three lotion bars, two body oils, and a goat's milk lotion, in addition to all of the essential oils and other products and accessories I have purchased. (Keep in mind I just happened upon this place a little over a month ago.) I have searched for the perfect remedy for my dry hands and especially my dry cuticles. These three product types have truly been game changers. As a cosmetics chemist, I 100% back these products and their effectiveness. The ingredients are superb and the effectiveness of the products are unrivaled. I've tried every hand cream from low price points to very high and nothing has compared to these products. Onto my next experience...I have received three facials now. The first was what I would call an "introduction facial". The in-house products used on me were fantastic and I'm pretty sure I've purchased and am using every skin care product they carry. My second facial was the "light peel". Melody, the aesthetician, is so knowledgeable and amazing. My light peel was the perfect introduction into chemical peels. She applied it so flawlessly that I had zero redness, tightness, or peeling. Yesterday I got my third facial, the "big daddy" Clinical Strength Chemical Peel. I know it's been less than 24 hours but I can already tell Melody did a wonderful job. She intuitively knows just the right amount of time to leave products on your face to make them both effective and as gentle as possible. I feel no tightness, redness, peeling, etc. This young lady knows her stuff. She is phenomenal!! Now for my third experience at Good Fortune Soap. I have major sciatic pain. Last week it was extremely flared up and I couldn't lessen the pain no mater what I tried. I decided to book a Deep Tissue Massage with Suzanne. When I tell you this wonderful woman all but healed me, I mean it. She worked out EVERY muscle knot in my back in ONE SESSION!! I used to have to get trigger point injections into these types of knots twice a week for several months before they would be worked out. I don't know how she did it but she smoothed out all of my knots in one session AND I left there with no lower back pain and haven't had any since then. Suzanne has no idea how much she helped me that day. She is truly a godsend!! I absolutely love everything about Good Fortune Soap and the services offered.
