Great food, ambiance, and service. Did not love the bread or the dessert (creme brûlée) but the entrees were delicious. My party especially liked the trout, the prime rib, and the filet. The escargot was a fantastic appetizer.

This is our second time to Ketchum but our first time eating at Knob Hill. The food was fine. It was not the best quality but certainly not bad. The issue with the food is that this is a fairly expensive restaurant and the food just doesn't live up to the price. The ambience was fine as well but nothing special. If it was just food and ambience I would likely give them a three star rating. The service though was awful. When we arrived our table wasn't setup properly. The waiter was constantly rushing us. He expected us to order almost immediately. Once we did order the food came out very quickly and they were taking salads away before we were finished. Constantly rushing us. The entrees came out and three of the meals were barely done and we had to send them back and then we were rushed again to finish. The did give us a couple free deserts for the inconvenience but they also didn't serve coffee with desert. I think there goal was to turn over the tables as quickly as possible. For example, we ordered at 5:40 and had appetizers, salad, entree, dessert and paid the bill before 7.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Knob Hill lodge for New Years and we had the best experience. The hotel was wonderful but it was such a treat that the restaurant bar in the hotel lobby was so delicious. We sat at the bar twice for dinner and had excellent cocktails - the bartender knows his stuff (he made us dirty martinis w/ blue cheese olives and taught us exactly how they are made)! The complimentary popovers are a treat. Both of our meals were delicious: trout was very flavorful and the filet was the perfect size. We were very pleased and the bar/restaurant alone would make us stay at Knob Hill again.

For sure a favorite spot in our town. Knob hill is special spot for many to stay at and with that comes the grill. Dinners here in the winter or summer are for sure special. Food and service is exceptional. On this winter night our friends joins us to enjoy a great delicious meal. Go and enjoy.

Waitress told us that they are known for their fried chicken and weinerschnitzel. We ordered both dishes. The meal started off with some unbelievable pop oversight with yummy honey butter. The chicken was moist with a crispy breading. Mash potatoes were included along with mixed veggies. The weinerschnitzel was the best I've ever had (had in Europe). A large, soft veal with a delicious flavorful fried coating. braised red cabbage, lingonberries, spaetzle, seasonal vegetables. Would go back again.

Enjoyed our anniversary dinner while staying at the hotel. It was a very nice dinner and we enjoyed our drinks, dinner and service. Loved their drink menu, especially the Slow Burn! Craved it the rest of the weekend, but only splurged the night of dinner. Hubby got a New York steak special and it was cooked and seasoned very well. He ate the entire steak (1. Because it was delicious, and 2. Because our hotel room didn't have a microwave.) I got the Weinerschnitzel. Also delicious. Both meals came with popovers as the bread. But one each. Fine by hubby, but I would have been happy of more were brought to the table. A great wine list also. For dessert we ordered coffee with Baileys (since we weren't driving) and the Mudpie. Again, finished it all. Definitely make reservations. If we're up there again I'd hope to sit on the patio for dinner or drinks.

Wonderful meal at the Grill at Knob Hill. Made reservations for New Yeats Eve. We enjoyed a round of drinks (wine and espresso martini) at a table outside their wine cellar. Some in the party had Cesar salads, which were so fresh and good (served in chilled bowls). The entrees were on point. The Rainbow Trout and the Prime Rib were cooked to perfection. The Organic Chicken was super delicious and flavorful. Check out the Grill at Knob Hill.

Loved the calamari (see pic). So tender and flavorful, just enough heat. Also enjoyed the burger and rack of lamb. Great ambience. Call out to Brittany for good service.

I was in town for my birthday so I decided to try Knob Hill. Let me say it was very classy, friendly staff and great food. I had the salad, filet mignon, huckleberry cheesecake ice cream, a cup of decaf, and a nice glass of red wine. The man next to me kept raving about the trout so I'll have to have that next time. The view out the window was breathtaking...I wish the patio was open but it was too cold to sit out. Overall my experience was well spent.

    Filet is delicious!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel so we had dinner one night here. Service abs food were excellent! I had the filet mignon and she had the salmon both were really good! This place is one of the best restaurants in Ketchum for sure!

The windows are dirty, the baseboard heaters don't wok and have cracked paint and the rugs are dirty and tired too. We had a nice time but the building and room felt they were in a time warp and in need of some TLC. Service by Terry was professional and fun at the same time. We still don't know what the meal cost. There were no prices on the menu and our friends paid so we are not sure. Probably very pricey! The manhattan was perfect, not too sweet and quite large! The antipasto board was decent but not spectacular. A few pieces of cheese, some jam, cornichons and hot smoked Idaho trout. It was served with lackluster crispy flatbread crackers. The butternut squash soup was really tasty. A really hearty portion, it was a bit coarse in texture and could have been blended a tad longer to make it smoother and more luxurious. the flavor was great with the pepita topping. The pork chop I chose was a mistake. Really overcooked, a tad dry and drenched in a sickeningly sweet apple compote that was more like dried apples rehydrated in sugar water with some spices. The best thing on the plate was the parsnip puree and there was not much of that. Wish I had ordered the braised lamb shank, however Terry did not mention that in his top three... Dessert was way better than it sounded. It was called a banana cheesecake however it was really a light banana flavored mousse between two layers of sponge cake with cooked banana puree on top. The chocolate dessert was fine. No one could finish it given the large portions of everything. It's a solid 3.5 stars, can't give it four.

Unfortunately, there was a 1 hour 20 minute wait! We walked over to Gretchen's remembering we had a pretty good dinner there last spring. They told us they were at capacity, but to grab the couches when they became available and it was the same menu and service. It took us about 15 minutes to secure a table in the lounge, which wasn't too bad. Since I had 3 very hungry kids with me who had skied all day we were ready to order, but our waitress was nowhere in site. I asked a few other staff members if we could order and they said they'd send her over, but we waited and waited. Finally she showed up and we placed our order right away: ahi tuna nachos, tempura green beans and trout. For the amount of time we waited for our food we could have waited the hour and 20 min at Village Station. They teased us at one point by bringing out plates so we thought our food was coming, but no luck. Our waitress continued to ignore us, but i waved her over a few times and each time she told us our food would be out in a minute....and then another 20 minutes would go by. I asked if she could bring out a bread basket to at least get something in the stomachs of these hungry children (and my stomach too). She said she'd so right away, but nope. Finally after I waved down several more staff our food came out. I believe it was about 90 minutes after placing the order. The food itself was fine and I think the ahi tuna nachos were the winner. When the waitress walked by again I immediately asked for the check because had a feeling that would take another hour. At this point I nicely explained my disappointment with the meal, but she just smiled at me and walked away. And as we were walking up the bread basket we had asked for at least an hour beforehand showed up. You'd think it was freshly baked bread for the amount of time, but the bread was as hard as rocks. This entire experience was 1-2 stars, but since I've had good experiences in the past and it was a busy weekend we'll go with 3 stars, but I won't be running back there during future trips. And I'll definitely stay away during busy weekends!
