Living just down the road from here means it's a beach that I've frequented for over 20 years. While there's been a good bit of inevitable change over that time, it's stayed relatively the same in terms of the beach itself. The water & shoreline has continued to uphold its beauty. I love coming here when I'm feeling the itch to get out by the water. The biggest change (for the worse) is there's now a parking fee. I preferred back when it was free but since I haven't been in a while I'm not sure how long it's been like this. The fee isn't terrible, which is somewhat a positive at least. The parking lot itself is massive so I've never had an issue finding a spot even on busy days. I noticed there's a lot more trash cans along the beach, which was great to see. There's some picnic tables, a fishing pier, multiple showers to rinse off at & plenty of space to lounge. There's a smaller public restroom which is definitely a smart new addition (since I'd last been). The scattered trees provide some shade but don't expect to find much else unless you're by the pier/restaurant. As far as this coast goes, I really enjoy coming to Dania compared to others. Most of the time I can take a short walk in either direction & find myself relatively alone which is my favorite thing to do outdoors. P.S. Utilize those trash cans! Pick up after YOURSELF & OTHERS. Whatever you bring with you, take it back. Just because you didn't bring the trash doesn't mean you can't pick it up. Let's work together to keep our beaches clean. read more

My second time at this beach in a year. It was cold during my first visit, so today is a refreshingly hot & humid kinda day. I love this beach because it's clean and there are lots of areas to setup a place and park it for some relaxation time. Parking on the other hand is a bit of a nightmare, but if you sit and wait long enough a space will open up. DO NOT leave your car in the "no parking" areas as a parking enforcement officer is actively on patrol. I witnessed the patrol officer leave violations on 6 different vehicles that were parked illegally. Overall, I highly recommend this location if you're looking for some beach time. We really enjoyed ourselves at this beach. It was a beautiful day on Sunday, but there weren't multitudes of people while we were there between noon and 3:00 pm. It was just right. The beach looks well cared for and not junky. There are ample metered parking spots, just steps from the beach. The awesome Quarterdeck restaurant sits right at the beginning of the pier over the water with fabulous ocean views! There is good fishing at the end of the pier. The pier is easy to walk on. The beach looks clean and ready for the beachgoers. It is knee-high deep in the water for quite a distance. There were paddleboarders out there also. All age groups were having fun. I came to this beach a few years ago albeit it was a weekday but there seemed to be a lot more beach. I went yesterday and it'll be the last. First, the park rangers or meter maids are absolutely ridiculous. You cannot even breathe the free oxygen in peace without getting a talking to. Nothing is allowed, literally NOTHING. Located close to the Ft. Lauderdale airport, you can never go wrong with the beaches of Dania. There is a marina so you can arrive by boat or car. Parking is plentiful in the pay lot for $3.15 an hour. The beach is only steps away from the parking lot. There are many lifeguard stations ensuring swimmers safety. After enjoying the water and sun you can grill and picnic in Frank "Tootie" Adler Park. If you don't want to bring in food you can dine at the Quarterdeck restaurant on the pier which has some of my favorite water front dining in Broward County. For a nominal fee you can walk or fish off of the pier from which you can see the cruise ships of port Everglades off in the distance. Dania has even more beaches at nearby Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. The park has a $6 entrance fee. There is hiking trails, a cafe, and kayak rentals. Some of the closest beach parking I've ever found! I think I took 23 steps to land from my parking spot onto the beach. Water was really close as well. Perfect day in January with turquoise waves lapping the shore and a bright blue sky with puffy white clouds over the horizon. Really nice guy named Frank who works over at the marina gave us some pointers around the area. Floridians are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet! I highly recommend this beach because of the location and it is a little bit more calm and cheaper than South Beach or some of the other beaches. The parking situation cannot be beat. read more

Visitng down south for a wedding , and came to Dania beach as it was the closest beach. The weather was beautiful and definitely worth going! The beach wasn't crowded and I like that it wasn't a long walk to water compared to New Jersey beaches. They do have a parking lot but you need to pay for parking. The beach is free to go on of course. They do have a shower spickit to rinse off any excess sand. The only issue I had was I kept getting a lot of red ants on my towel and I moved a times but I defiantly got bit a few times and a ant bite definitely itches a ton which I didn't know. read more

A nice beach with fine light colored sand. Lots of lifeguard stations, a huge fishing pier, restrooms, body and foot showers, and a huge close parking lot that goes on forever. The beach isn't deep, so you are very close to the water. Be careful as it can be rough. As you swim out, it gradually gets deeper. There wasn't that much seaweed, in October anyway. read more

Ugh, I love this beach. This has always been our go to beach. I love that it is more family friendly. Not having a boardwalk makes it to be a more quite beach. They do have one restaurant on the pier for those looking not to lug around a cooler with a bunch of things. Quarterdeck is open and have seating available for those looking to eat before or after their beach day. The pier is currently open for those interested in walking or fishing. However, you do have to pay to go out onto the pier. The parking lot has meters for you pay by the hour. On the beach Itself, there were lifeguards on duty and if you get there early enough little tiki huts to use. This was our first beach outing this summer given the circumstances of everything. Everyone kept a safe distance from one another which is why I like the beach, you can choose your space and not have to worry about being too close to others. The water was amazing!!! Completely seaweed free and the tide was so low. The water was nice and warm and the weather was just perfect. So far the closest beach parking we've found. Make sure you have the parking app because some of the machines were broken and weren't accepting credit cards. Decent push shower right near the stairs by the parking lot but not the most water flow and no foot wash. There's actually life guards in the stations. May have been the time of day but bigger choppy waves. Couldn't tell how far out the shallow area goes. There was a bit more trash on this beach then the ones south of here. Bits of plastic that have been there for a while. Not terribly crowded but people coming and going, seem like more locals than tourists and friendlier. read more

Hands down my favorite central Broward beach!!!! i even like it over ft Lauderdale. .. way less crowded, more relaxing, actual trees on the beach with plenty of shaded areas to set up your spot. showers to rinse off at the out edge of the beach where it meets the parking lot. Next to the pier there is a dedicated parking lot that is usually not filled unless its a holiday weekend. there's access to a jogging trail that run along the whisky creek.. you can also take paddle boards into the creek and paddle for well over an hr. I have been to this beach sporadically since I moved here 9 years ago. It is my second favorite in South Florida to chill at. I actually cannot recall being here during the day; I always seem to visit this beach at night. Either way, it is a good spot. In recent year, they built a Quartdeck restaurant on the pier which is really cool. You can also go on the pier to go fishing or walk around for a small fee. It was pretty busy at night when we went. The beach itself is very clean and not too crowded but again, this is at night. There is plenty of parking within steps of the actual beach. I'm used to beaches in Long Island where you have to walk a mile from your car to get to actual sand so this is a plus for me! The parking is not so bad. There is usually plenty of spots and the fees are reasonable-like $8 for the day. After 9pm or 10pm, the parking is free. I am a Pisces so I naturally love the water. But I am as pale as a ghost so I turn into a lobster if I'm the sun too long. So I get to enjoy the beach and ocean at night. I have not seen any shady characters roaming the beach either the times I have visited. read more

We live in Dania and this is our little "local" secret and get-away. Not a lot of people knows about this place except the locals, so it's not as crowded as Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood. Since it's nice and quiet here most of the time, my wife and I come here to relax and it's only a few minutes from our house. The beach is always clean and the the ocean is calm most of the time, so it's not a bad place for swimming or paddle boarding. And the view is terrific. We usually stay by the pier and the view is just terrific. We can sit at the beach, enjoying the sun and watch the boats go by. And since we are the resident here, we get to purchase the annual beach parking permit and do not have to worry about feeding the parking meter. There is also a Quarterdeck restaurant on the pier. We often go there for lunch after enjoying a nice morning at the beach. I hope this beach can stay this way forever! read more

Highest parking cost in Broward - $5 per hour - for a tiny strip of beach that's badly eroding by the day. It's become unaffordable for most suburban working class families to spend a few hours at the beach - this is a low wage region with a very high cost of living. I personally spoke with a really nice mom and her 3 kids who had to sadly leave after her shock at the parking cost. The city has built all these expensive high rise rentals - then grants those residents deeply discounted parking passes - while the rest of us working class who can't afford to live by the beach get gouged. I believe the city spends most of the parking revenue to hire meter cops: I've seen several circling this tiny parking lot, so they can slap tickets on cars faster. One reviewer reports he even got a ticket while he was trying to find a working parking machine! (Machines are in poor condition: sometimes you have to go from machine to machine to find one that works.) They're sure not spending money on service! Their public bathrooms have been out of service for months now - they have these gross portables instead. There are much better beaches - avoid this one! read more

I've been coming to Dania Beach and in and between Hollywood Beach during the whole canary episode to meditate and do youtube videos here and there. I even took a few swims in the dark with the sharks and barracudas. But today is the first day I've gone in the arms of the great blue mother with the Great God Ra shining upon me. I spent about 25 minutes in the water just frolicking around. I could feel my spirit recapturing its essence from the angels of the ocean, earth, air, and sun. When I arose from the deep blue Lord Gargamel was rejuvenated. I returned in the evening in the midst of rain and lightning to meditate on the beach. The lightning was surreal, it was if the lightning was painting the dark sky. I felt as though the lightning would increase in frequency in synchronicity with the intensity of my meditation. I can truly say I've never witnessed such a show of the Gods. ~ don't forget to pay the parking meter, the tickets are $43.00 and they always have their munchies looking for victims. read more

EDIT- My family and I came to the beach after searching for pet friendly beaches and saw Dania beach claiming to be so pet friendly. After driving 2.5 hours (and paying for parking) we are greeted with very bold NO PETS signs while walking to the beach. We did find a very small section of beach in Hollywood to spend the day but from it was really not a comfortable situation with so many dogs being crowded into a small spot. Of course we paid for parking again which just added to the frustration. Needless to say Dania Beach is definitely on my no go list because of this. read more

Absolutely excellent beach that is calm, relaxing, clean, and very beautiful. The southern most part of the beach does tend to get crowded and on weekends it may be hard to find parking; however, this is one of the few beaches that has more locals and is super low-key. The further up you walk on the beach, the more empty and deserted it gets (read the more calm it gets). There are life guards (that are sort of...jerks but I think that's all of them) at the bottom of the beach so you can feel more comfortable when you swim. read more

If you're worried about a far walk from the car to the beach with all your gear - don't be. The beach is SO CLOSE. And the beach itself is long but shallow-ish, so in just a few steps you're literally in the water. Generally smooth sand with some seashells popping up. There's some houses along the beach that are nice to look at, and walking under the pier is pretty cool. There's a couple bars/restaurants within walking distance too. Great Southern Florida beach with access to a local fishing pier, marina, and local parking lot. The pier requires a fee to check out or to fish. You can also rent stuff to fish if you don't bring your own. The beach is pretty nice. There was some red seaweed scattered about while we were there but not enough to detract from the experience. It was also fun to watch the fishermen on the pier pull up fish. A bonus at this location is that it sits right next to the banks of the Whiskey River so you can choose to either swim in the river or the ocean. The pier offers food and drink and there are a couple food trucks that might park onsite that you can check out as well. Parking is $2 an hour and the parking lot is pretty big. Great beach that you can walk to North Hollywood Beach if you want to as well. read more

My dearest friend that was also my first mentor straight out of college still lives there. She was Born and Raised there. On our social service salaries and retirement she never got out. She taught me a lot about working in the hood. I love this City. I love all the business along Federal Highway and Dania Beach Boulevard. I love when my Florida Yelp Friends Post Places that I miss visiting. The beach has always been clean. The sand and sea enjoyable for a very small stretch of beach.
