Beware if you're parking at the city garage located at 4086 Surf Road. This is a parking garage used by beachgoers for public access to the beach and for nearby businesses. I went to a spa nearby and to my surprise I got a parking ticket. Nowhere in the parking lot could I recall signs posted saying no backing in. I was warned by spa staff upon entering the lot that I needed to make sure to pay for parking before walking off because they give tons of tickets there. I did as suggested. Once you get down below in the parking area, you lose all reception on your cell phone so you have to do it upon entry. So beware of these things if you decide to visit because the City of Hallandale Beach is watching you waiting for you to fall prey to their shenanigans, freaking crooks! Not even 15 minutes later and they hit me with a ticket.

This place was cool, although I didn't expect the blue jellyfish on the shore. Otherwise I had a great time coming here on Christmas Eve. Stunning views and sunset along with a cool hill to jump off of, which I indeed did do.

One of my favorite beaches; there is also a nice restaurant on then beach where you can have a Japanese cuisines or a refreshing drink. Parking in walking distance

Hallandale Beach is a small little beach town on the outskirts of Fort Lauderdale. The beach itself is really beautiful, but way too crowded due to the high-rises sectioning off sections of the beach for their guests; not leaving much room for the general public. The water is Caribbean blue, with white-ish sand, and an light undertow below the breakers. The waves are small due to lack of barriers surrounding the ocean. Bring some goggles and you can see the live of the sea while snorkeling. The town of Hallandale Beach itself isn't much too it. It's not really a pedestrian friendly town. You'll need car if you are looking for entertainment or dining. Also make sure you budget 4x what you normally do, as it's a very expensive city to vacation in. The townsfolk were pleasant enough, but the spring breakers vacationing there were some rude people. I'm not sure if they act like that at home or not, but we don't need those type of people in our state.

the beach is so beautiful, you can do a lot of things at Hallandale beach, you can go with your family and friends and play soccer or volleyball!! it's amazing and a beautiful beach

This beach is really beautiful. I love that it's never crowded, & always clean. I like this beach for jogging, views, & to chill. Fortunately & unfortunately there's always an abundance of jellyfish here. I prefer to skip going to close to the water.

Beautiful views and a boardwalk with many restaurants and shops. My only knock is the dead seaweed along the beach

Whether you want to swim, relax, fly a kite, or just enjoy the breeze, this place delivers. One of the coolest things about Haulover is how much it offers in one area picnic spots, tennis courts, a marina, walking paths, and even a dog park. There's also a clearly marked clothing-optional section, which is respectful and well organized for those who choose to visit it. Parking is convenient (though it can fill up on weekends), restrooms and outdoor showers are available, and lifeguards are usually on duty. The atmosphere feels safe, relaxed, and welcoming for families, couples, and solo visitors alike. If you're looking for a beach that's less chaotic than South Beach but still full of life and options, Haulover Park is a must-visit. I always enjoy my time here and keep coming back.

You can have food and drinks delivered to you on the beach. There are also Umbrella and Chair rentals and they do all the set up and tear down for you. I would go again.

Keating Beach Park is off the beaten path at the far north end of the Hollywood Boardwalk. This park was named in honor of former Hollywood Mayor David Keating. He served as a City Commissioner and Mayor from 1961 to 1986. In 1963 he took a walk on this stretch of beach and it cemented in his mind that it should remain public. For the next two decades he led the fight to save this strip of beach from Sheridan Street to the Hollywood-Dania Beach line from Hollywood Inc., a development company that claimed they owned it, not the city. On September 4, 1981, the Fourth District Court of Appeal sided with the city and decided that the 1.5 mile of beach belonged to the city. Anyone who uses the beach here today has David Keating to thank. Today Keating Beach Park is under construction. It looks like there is structural damage to the pavilion and it is fenced off. There is no parking in this area either. The restrooms are closed and the slide is gone. Still the beach remains a glorious wide strip on sundrenched sand. This area is frequented more by locals than tourists. Here is to hopping that Hollywood gets the repairs done and opens this area back up soon.

The sand is so soft and clean, with not a single bit of seaweed. This was so surprising, as just a few miles away there was a substantial amount of seaweed. There were palm trees that offered a perfect amount of shade if you prefer to lie and read your book or take a nap on the beach. Be sure to layer on the sunscreen, I used an SPF 60, and still walked away a bit flushed. The water was very comfortable and clean. I took a swim a few times, and this is in April. Why can't every beach be like Keating Beach? But wait... there was a lady who came and was yelling profanities, I thought she was on her phone, but she was actually just venting loudly to herself. She had all eyes on her, there was no stopping her. I suppose that's one way to exercise your freedom of speech! Keating Beach is as perfect as they come. Hopefully you won't encounter the minor interruption like I did.

The park was renovated at a cost of $4.36 million as part of the City Wide Parks Master Plan and it reopened on March 1, 2015. South City Beach Park has beach access, restrooms, outdoor showers, open air pavilion, two bocce courts, a fenced in playground, sand volleyball court, and a beachfront concession stand. If you chose to come here do not let your parking time run out! I have been here twice and they are very aggressive about writing tickets. Both times I saw multiple tickets written. Online it says the minimum parking ticket is $39. I even saw one car with the barnacle which covers the windshield and makes it impossible to see to drive the car until you pay the fine to unlock it. You can pay for parking on your phone by app. In addition to being quick to write a ticket, another thing I didn't care for is they change the parking price whenever they want. If you come early or late you can get a discounted price of $2 and hour which is half off the normal $4 an hour rate but another time I came on the Sunday after Fourth of July and a holiday rate of $10 was in effect. If you are going to stay all day it is fine but at least for me it discourages dropping in for an hour or two. Make sure you keep an eye on the time so you can have your best beach day here.

There is also a food option here, good for snacks or a whole meal. The beach is a short walk (like 50 feet) and the sand was nice. Being an out of town guest, I did not want to have to download and app, create an account, etc. Also, what about people who don't have smartphones? That said, there were plenty of spots as the parking lot is a decent size.
