The staff with the office manager right there at the reception desk started talking loudly about a patient they referred to "as that old lady" who was being difficult in payer her bill. I had to walk out to the desk and tell them I could hear every word of their loud conversation and how unprofessional they were being referring to a patient as "that old lady". Dr Wells said he read my previous review and was taking steps to improve and he did ask his staff to shut the exam room door.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is from a couple of issues relating to the staff (not calling in meds, kind of a big deal). So no wonder the front of house staff treats people coming in the door terribly when that's how they are treated internally. We wasted time filling out all documents and sitting for an hour before being told being seen here would be a liability because he had already had a surgery on his clavicle. All we wanted was to review his pain management and wound care. Not to mention the place is FILTHY from the outside. You are a dollar sign to these people. Having been the victim of a botched surgical procedure in my youth, I'm really thorough about checking into who my surgeon is going to be and the facility in which the surgery is going to take place. After checking out everything I made an appointment with Dr.Ross Wodicka and couldn't have been more delighted. He's not only a great doctor but real good down to earth guy who carefully explains all your options and matters involving the procedure. Matter of fact, because of my age being 74, he wasn't cut happy and really wanted me to know what I was going to be put through in order to recover and whether I thought it would be worth it. Well, because I was unable to lift my martini glass to my lips (that's practically the definition of very serious), of course it was worth it. I might also add that Dr. Wodicka is a sports doctor specialist with a fellowship in a well-recognized sports orthopedic institute. So if one can trust the multimillion dollar shoulders and knees of professional athletes to him, I think I can trust mine to him too. Anyway my surgery went just fine. Matter of fact incredibly fine. I don't even have a surgical scar, never needed any pain meds and now near 8 months later 90% recovered and doing exceptionally well.

During my recent visit, his office had no issue billing my insurance company for the consultation and collecting my copay in full. However, when it came to the prescribed orthotics--medical devices I have relied upon for over twenty years to walk without pain--Dr. Bell and his staff explicitly refused to process the order through my insurance benefits. I was told directly that they would not bill my insurance because the insurer would not pay them "what they wanted." This decision forced me to choose between paying out of pocket for essential medical equipment or going without, despite my coverage. From my perspective as a patient, this practice is deeply unethical and predatory. It represents a form of insurance abuse that selectively leverages the system for profit while denying patients the benefits they are entitled to under their plans. Patients trust in-network providers to honor contractual obligations with insurers; this betrayal of trust is not just unprofessional but exploitative. I am particularly concerned about how many other patients--especially those with fewer resources--have been similarly mistreated or pressured into paying out of pocket for covered services. Such behavior preys on vulnerable patients who depend on their insurance to afford necessary care. I urge your office to investigate these practices thoroughly and take all appropriate action to hold Dr. Bell and his practice accountable. Prior to the surgery, I did not have so much as a filling. Understandably, I was nervous as I had never undergone surgery before. It was compounded by my surgery being postponed because of the epidemic. Dr. Taylor patiently explained everything, walked me through the entire procedure, and did a phenomenal job with the actual surgery. Today is June 3 and I just had my follow up visit. I am walking completely normal with no aid whatsoever and I am pain free for the first time in two years. Dr. Taylor restored the quality of my life and if anybody needs any procedures on their knees or hips I would wholeheartedly recommend him.
