I've worked with several orthopedic surgeons over the years, and I can say without hesitation that…read moreDr. Matthew Wells is outstanding. What immediately impressed me was that he took into account not only the condition of my knees, but also who I am as a patient and what I hope to get back to doing. Until recently, I was competing in CrossFit at an elite level and had ranked among the top 10 worldwide in my age group in the CrossFit Open, against thousands of competitors. My goal is not simply to make my knees feel better--I want, if reasonably possible, to return to a very high level of athletic activity. Dr. Wells understood that distinction. He is personable, engaging, exceptionally empathetic, and remarkably knowledgeable. Most importantly, he listened carefully to my concerns and took the time to answer every question I had. There were several different options and approaches available for treating my knees, and he explained each one clearly, including the potential benefits, limitations, and alternatives. What impressed me most was his willingness to actually give me his medical judgment. Rather than simply laying out a menu of options and leaving me to figure it out on my own, he explained what he would recommend for me, based on the latest medical evidence, his clinical experience, and what he has seen work in actual patients. He even told me what he would do if he were in my shoes, taking into account my particular circumstances and goals. That kind of thoughtful, confident guidance is surprisingly rare--and enormously valuable when you are making an important medical decision. Even better, Dr. Wells combines that depth of knowledge with the ability to translate it into a practical, realistic treatment plan tailored to the individual patient and his or her lifestyle. In my case, that means understanding that returning to serious athletic training and competition matters to me. I left the appointment feeling that he had truly understood my situation and had carefully thought through the best path forward. His staff is equally impressive. Nancy is an absolute pleasure to deal with--warm, helpful, and genuinely pleasant every time she answers the phone. And Carmen, who handles other administrative matters, will remind you of your favorite aunt who always made sure your favorite dessert was waiting when you came to visit. That combination of professionalism, warmth, and friendliness sets the tone for the entire practice: relaxed, welcoming, great energy, and very nice offices. I highly recommend Dr. Wells, particularly to athletes and active individuals dealing with knee, shoulder, or other joint problems. He is exactly the kind of physician you hope to find when you are trying to make an important decision about your care.

The MA showed me to a room, left and didn't shut the door. The staff with the office manager right there at the reception desk started talking loudly about a patient they referred to "as that old lady" who was being difficult in payer her bill. I had to walk out to the desk and tell them I could hear every word of their loud conversation and how unprofessional they were being referring to a patient as "that old lady". Dr Wells said he read my previous review and was taking steps to improve and he did ask his staff to shut the exam room door.

He's patient, he listens to you and he thoroughly explains things to you, He's definitely not one of those Drs who just prescribes you medication and tells you to come back in a couple of weeks. Keep in mind that this is a walk in clinic so they can be a wait but if you have an appt the wait really isn't too bad. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is from a couple of issues relating to the staff (not calling in meds, kind of a big deal). I recently started physical therapy here and can honestly say the physical therapists really have getting you feeling better as their top priority.

The admin assistants were then dealing with a heavier set lady (who worked there) with short curly hair who spoke to them like them were dirt on her shoe. All loud and aggressive for the entire waiting room to watch and feel uncomfortable. So no wonder the front of house staff treats people coming in the door terribly when that's how they are treated internally. We wasted time filling out all documents and sitting for an hour before being told being seen here would be a liability because he had already had a surgery on his clavicle. All we wanted was to review his pain management and wound care. Not to mention the place is FILTHY from the outside. You are a dollar sign to these people. And I'm not even sure they have qualified enough staff. Overall nightmare.

Dennis is extremely talented and efficient, so he can accomplish a lot in an hour session. The work he does with jaw (TMJ issues), head, and neck really helped me a lot. Dennis is a trainer, teacher, and expert in this field. In addition to his massage, Dennis does NLP (Neuro Linguisic Programming), which can be helpful as well. Dennis is one of the most dynamic and interesting people I've ever met, so every session I've had with him has been fun. I used to see him only when I was in town visiting my grandparents (who sadly no longer grace the earth) so I don't get occasion to visit Fort Lauderdale anymore. If I ever make it back there, I will try to get in with him again. I don't usually see male massage therapists, but I always felt at ease with him (and he gives his female clients tube tops and jogging shorts, so that he can get to all the important muscles without any discomfort). My husband and dad both had sessions with Dennis as well, and they also thought very highly of his work and had follow-up appointments. Dennis gave my husband and me different excercises to do that were very specific for our unique patterns. He's excellent, insightful, and I only wish he worked closer to where we live!

Since…read morethen, I've seen him regularly for a variety of issues: back pain, chest pain, ankle pain, wrist pain, headaches. He uses his hands like a surgeon uses a scalpel. Not only does he treat my symptoms, but he also sends me home with stretches and corrective exercises for maintenance. He has a vast, intuitive understanding of anatomy, which he explains while applying a treatment plan. Without Dennis, I'd probably be seeing a slew of doctors and taking a bunch of pills (or surgery) to help with things that he can easily fix, naturally. I suggest him to all my friends who are struggling with pain, no matter how far the drive.
