I've now had two fabulous experiences with Daniel Diamonds. Several years ago, I purchased a pair of blue and white diamond earrings that they handcrafted. Amazingly gorgeous! I treasure them. Recently, I sent them one earring (I lost the other one) in the hope they could repurpose it. I worked directly with Kellie, and she is so friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable asking questions, discussing my budget, and getting her advice about the best course of action. Ultimately, she recommended that they reset the diamonds into a beautiful pendant. The box arrived yesterday with yet another Daniel Diamond creation inside. Perfect! The communication is excellent and timely. I highly recommend this business to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy and talented jeweler with whom you remain on a first name basis. After finding out about Daniel Diamonds, I have made it a point to stop by the store every time I'm in the Denver area. Danny and Karen are friendly and warm, and the selection is top notch. I've bought more than a few gorgeous watches from them (guys, you can easily spend more time looking at their watches than your significant other will spend looking at jewelry...the watches they carry are that nice!), as well as jewelry for a girlfriend and my mom. When other San Diegans ask if I know anyone in the jewelry business, I always refer them to Daniel Diamonds, and in fact several friends have purchased jewelry from Danny and Karen. Not knowing much at all about diamonds, it's nice to have someone I *know* I can trust. Several times I've bought stones from them sight unseen. I once called Karen the day before a girlfriends birthday and said "Karen, I need a pair of diamond earrings FedEx'd to me. This is how much I want to spend". The next day, there they were -- and the girlfriend loved them! In fact, when I found an old gold chain in a drawer of stuff I had forgotten about, I sent it in to Danny and Karen for scrap gold value without thinking twice. I started working with Kellie last spring to create the perfect engagement ring for my then girlfriend. I planned on doing something different, going with a dark blue sapphire and smaller diamonds in a gold setting. After looking over many designs, we had a plan and Kellie tracked down the right Sapphire for the ring. Sketches were drawn up, ready to go until I showed my GF something similar, which received a "Hell NO!" (Not that it was bad, just not the style she wanted). Upon notifying Kellie, everything was put on hold and we came up with a new design which after production turned out to be amazing! Kellie provided great ideas, feedback and support along the way. We also purchased a matching wedding band for her. Unfortunately they did not have anything in the right style and price for my wedding band, so we found that elsewhere (direct from a local artisan in San Diego, more about her in another review). Bottom line, Daniel Diamonds and Kellie, despite being 1000 miles away, will be my first stop for any future "REAL" jewelry purchases. read more

I was informed of Daniel Diamonds by at least 3 friends that live in the Denver area. As I travel through there pretty regularly I decided to make the trip up I-70 to check out the store even though it was a bit out of the way. I am glad I did. I was looking for something for my wife with a modest budget and had been wandering from case to case for a few minutes when I met Karen, the proprietor. After describing my wife and her tastes Karen laid out 4 or 5 different pieces in my budget and then spent the next 45 minutes helping me decide. Even though I wasn't a big spender she gave me her undivided attention and really had my best interest at heart. I then happened to stop by the watch case and found an outstanding piece. Daniel Diamonds carries a number of excellent brands that are not easy to find in your average mall-chain jewelery store and not only are they beautiful they are also high-quality. Karen handed me off to Kellie and Kellie spent another 30 minutes with me helping me make the difficult decision. At the end of the day I walked out with a new necklace for my wife and a new watch for myself and a new go-to destination when it comes to jewelery. I cannot recommend Daniel Diamonds highly enough. I took my diamond in to Daniel's as I had 2 prongs that were bent. They were very helpful in identifying how we could fix the problem and also potentially lower the setting so it wouldn't get bent again. They did a great job and were able to lower the setting and it looks great. Only complaint is that I had asked them to call me once they identified if they could adjust the setting or not so I could decide yes or no based on price, however they just lowered it without calling. I am so very much upset with this establishment. I took my platinum wedding ring and engagement ring in to request a quote to have them soldered together. They quoted me $50; however when I picked them up I was charged $90. I did not say anything because I HATE confrontation more than anything and the person who gave me the quote was not in the store when I picked up the rings. Paid the fee and was happy to get my rings back and I don't mind paying for good work - yet that is not what I received in the end. Less than 10 months later THEY CAME APART!! REALLY? This is absurd. And it's not like I do any heavy lifting or hard work day to day. I work in IT for ^*&%^&^%*&^ sake. I will not be returning to have them redone, as my mother-in-law refuses to allow these rings be handled by this establishment again due to their negligence. They are a joke. Years before meeting my fiancé and getting engaged, I knew what I wanted my wear-every-day-for-the-rest-of-my-life ring to look like - not something you'd find in a display case. I wanted a very specific gem that is not common nor easy to come by (especially with the high quality that I wanted). When visiting Daniel Diamonds to discuss what I was looking for, Kellie suggested waiting until an upcoming gem fair in Las Vegas so she could see the stones in person. While there, she found several for me to choose from - sent photos, videos, etc. so I could pick the right one. These guys worked with me to create a completely custom setting and I was able to select the exact stones that were going into my ring! When it was completed, I had a unique piece of jewelry that was even better than I had envisioned. The $37500 EGL certified diamond we purchased from them ten years ago via their relative in Tel Aviv turned out to be a turkey when we came to sell it. We took the stone back to them with the expectation of being able to sell it on the GIA certificate we requested they apply for. They failed to send the stone for evaluation, making the excuse that they just didn't bother because no one was buying that particular cut. Upshot - when we took the stone to other jewelers (and eventually sold it to Trice) our J color VSII clarity turned out to be an L/M color VS clarity and therefore worth around half the expected resale value. Not amused in that their behavior told me everything I needed to know about their ethics. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Kellie! I had shopped locally with my girlfriend for engagement rings but never really found "the" ring, only small elements that she liked. I spoke to Kellie about a custom ring, giving her all the ideas I had compiled, including some absurdities such as "a split shank, but not too split" and left it up to her to deliver. She came back quickly with a hand drawn design that was simply jaw dropping. Did I forget to mention that I already had a diamond and lived across the country? Because it didn't bother her one bit. A few anxious weeks later I had "the" ring in my hand with "the" diamond mounted without the slightest of issue. Honestly I could not ask for anything better - there are no regrets with this ring, no need for a second chance, no need to go back and change anything.
