I just returned from an incredible appointment at Dr. Elbert's. I needed a crown and with his state of the art equipment he was able to make a crown at this visit and fill 2 teeth, make a mold for a night guard in less than two hours! With his method it is no longer necessary for a temporary crown which often falls out, nor an additional visit to put in the crown. In one visit a crown is created and completed! His staff is wonderful, the doctor professional and highly skilled, the office is immaculate and overall I have never had a better experience!! read more

Dr. Elbert and his team of hygienists and office staff are wonderful. They are incredibly thorough, kind and courteous and actually make the visit to the dentist enjoyable for everyone in my family. We recently moved into the area and switched to Dr. Elbert by recommendation and are not disappointed. The only concern I had is that they tend to "sell" their additional services such as Invisalign and whitening. For many patients requesting dental alignment, I'm sure it's helpful when a dentist can offer this service (as opposed to going to an orthodontist, but when they offered it to me, I felt it was largely unnecessary. I'm glad it's an option but very low on my priority list of things to spend money on and patients who do it must be committed to the expensive, tedious and ongoing process. The hygienist suggested it to help with plaque build-up on my lower canines which are slightly twisted, however, it's an expensive and lengthy fix to a problem that can be attended to with more daily flossing and regular attention. I would have preferred the dentist and hygienist focused on what they both considered were a set of "good teeth" and not tried to "up-sell" me on an unnecessary service as it feels a bit inauthentic. We'll continue to see Dr. Elbert regardless, but wonder if they might consider changing their sales tactics as it feels sort of like a mechanic trying to up-sell you on a service for your automobile that really isn't necessary simply because you aren't knowledgeable of auto care. read more

I am terrified of going to a dentist. I've had teeth that didn't deaden so I have good reason. My tooth broke at lunch while I was with my daughter and granddaughters so my daughter suggested her dentist who has been so careful to make it a pain free experience for her. They fit me in even though the day was booked and got me taken care of taking my extreme fear into consideration. I am very happy with my care and will be returning to this dental office even though I have to schedule appointments for when I visit as it's a 2.5 hour drive from where I live. Dr. Elbert did a terrific job with my new implant crowns. It was sort of a complicated process and he has been unfailingly kind, attentive, and super competent. Wow. He really goes the extra mile to make sure patients are comfortable and happy with their work (he even personally phoned me at home later in the day after one piece involving anesthetic, to make sure I wasn't in any pain). A great experience was had at Dr. Elbert's office! I'm a fairly easy patient as I have good health and my teeth and gums are in pretty good shape for being 59 yrs old. With that said I felt very comfortable and well taken care of with all of his staff, front desk, hygienist, and x-ray tech. Dr. Elbert took more photos with a special camera so I could clearly see all my teeth from inside my mouth. He pointed out areas to watch for but said nothing was needed now. That was completely awesome to be able to see what he sees! The kicker for me? He did not try to up-sell me on any unnecessary procedures!! I can't believe I haven't written a review for this amazing team until now. My husband and I had come in with years of neglect and we had never had braces - needless to say we were a challenging case. My husband received a regular cleaning followed by placement of 8 veneers and they look fantastic. My case was a little more complicated - cleaning below the gum line, root canal, crowns, bridge and THEN corrective gum surgery to align my veneers properly as well. After every appointment, he would call in to check on me, he suggested a fantastic root canal specialist, wisdom tooth specialist and gum specialist. Dr. Elbert makes me want to come in to his office and I used to be deathly afraid of dentists. I can safely say that he put the smile on my face that I proudly have today. I have several autoimmune diseases, so seeing medical professionals has never been something I've had the luxury of not doing. The dentist, always seems to get the worst rap. I've seen so many dentists over the years I can't even remember all of their names, but I was a heavy cigarette smoker, and heavy narcotic user for over 10 years. I have been in recovery, and sober and clean now for 13 years, and I can say when I made the decision to finally handle all the dental work I needed done, I sure as hell picked the right dentist to do the job. Other dentists had told me that I would need surgery in my mouth and quoted estimates to me over $4000, which I cannot afford. Dr. E figured out a plan for my mouth that would be not only less stressful, but affordable as well. The initial phone call with the reception in the front, the people you usually deal with more than the actual doctors themselves, were so kind, and so courteous, I already felt less anxious about the dental visit. The doctor was incredibly nice, awesome bedside manner, the staff seemed happy in their job/office, they explained everything to me thoroughly so that I understood what the plan was going forward, which for me is huge, because I'm used to doctors throwing medicine at me and never discussing what the actual plan is. I am type A, Virgo, nuerotic and that was exactly what I needed to keep me calm throughout this process. Due to severe sensitivity, I have to have my entire mouth numb before they can even do a cleaning, and the topical numbing doesn't work, so they have to do the injections. I know how much of a pain in the ass it is, because it takes up a lot of time, but not for even one second did they make me feel like I was a burden or that I was taking time away from another potential patient... Sadly, I have experienced that in other dental offices over the years. Today was the second of four appointments that I made. And I actually don't cringe when I'm driving to their office. I mean this with all sincerity, as I don't typically spend my time reviewing people places or things, unless it really counts and needs to be said, which this does. Dr. E is hands-down the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, he went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with this not so comfortable process, and I will tell everyone I know about that office. I am new to the area and was shopping for a new dentist. I figured I used Yelp for just about everything else in life so why not a dentist. I had a lapse in judgment and scheduled an appointment thinking he was the best reviewed dentist in the area not seeing that he actually pays yelp to boost his business. I figured I would give it a shot because he did have some high reviews. Let me say everything up to meeting the dentist was actually stellar. Great office vibe and the hygienist who clean my teeth was very professional. Once the Doctor came in, it was a different story. I inquired about sealing my teeth (which I get done every couple of years as preventative maintenance), he suggested basically putting surface fillings on all the teeth I was interested in. After the fact I realized he could charge the insurance company more this way. Additionally, I had a filling he was concerned with and suggested a crown. I explained to him I have had that filling for 5+ years and it was only replaced to because a prior dentist did not like the silver filling that was there. He then went into a rant about how he would only suggest procedures that he would recommend for his own family. I figured yeah ok, I'm just going to get my teeth cleaned here and address any new issues in later visits. Then we get to the billing process. It took approximately 3 months to figure out billing. I have two forms of insurance that should cover 100% of the cost and has for years. When I got the first bill in the mail I called and they said they would call me back. That did not happen and I got another bill with a late charge added. I figured whatever, it's not worth my time so I would just pay the bill and find a new dentist. For some reason I decided to call my insurance company and they informed me that they were not allowed to that and they called the dentist's office while I was on the line. They got the late charge removed and had them credit me back the money. My suggestion would be to keep scrolling down on Yelp for another dentist. read more
