I have been coming to Dr. Bley for years. Dr. Bley and his staff are the best. They are all so friendly and the care I receive is top notch.

Dr. Bley replaced an old filling - for something that could be a very unpleasant experience, it went very smoothly. No discomfort, it didn't take too long, and Dr. Bley kept up a nice, pleasant conversation throughout the process (I had limited ability to respond, under the circumstances). The replacement (getting a ceramic cap) required two sessions, which was clearly explained before we started. And Dr. Bley clearly explained what he was doing throughout. Although Dr. Bley and his hygienist are very friendly, this office is out to make a dollar first. It's incredibly hard to find a good dentist and I hate to say this is not one. If all you need is a cleaning this office will get the job done but beware the man is quick to drill! To fix a bad filling that had been done no more than a year earlier he wanted to give me a porcelain onlay, telling me their "could" be decay. Before following through they sent a claim to my insurance company to see if the procedure would be covered. The claim was denied twice because my insurance company said the procedure was not neccisary. While I waited for my insurance company to get back to me I went out of my way to get two more opinions. Both dentists said a new filling would fix the issue. It would have been a $1300 out of pocket expense for something that could have just been refilled. read more

I've been going to see Dr Bley and his staff for probably about 8 years now and can't recommend him highly enough. I've referred probably 10 people over the years as I've been so impressed. Over a year ago Dr Bley and his team found an usual air pocket on my gum line and referred me to an oral surgeon. Turns out I needed a dental implant which meant that I needed to have my front tooth pulled. Very traumatic but Dr Bley was so great through the whole process. I couldn't have dealt with it with anyone else, he was just fantastic. I got my final tooth today and it looks just like the original, if not better. I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Dr. Bley and his staff have stuck with me thru thick and thin. Not only is he an excellent dentist but he gives out his cell phone number os if you need to call him at 11pm on Sunday night you can. The office is well-run, the hygienists the best in town, and Dr. Bley has always, always made it easy for me to pay for things that were not covered by insurance. As to the person who wrote the bad review, I can only say that Dr. Bley is human and he made a mistake. I bet if you went back to him with the second opinion, he would have either had more input to support his opinion or would have apologized like crazy for slipping up. tl;dr Salesy, just after $ and does a poor job on fillings. I honestly started out really liking Dr. Bley and his staff. They're super friendly, nice and knowledgeable. I was somewhat suspicious of the number of fillings he said I needed after my first few appointments, but I went along with it and had them done. He seemed to be very motivated by my great dental insurance and I was concerned he was doing things that weren't necessary. It got to the point where I was scheduling only early morning cleanings in the hope that I didn't see Dr. Bley. I was worried he'd say I needed more fillings, but the final straw was him telling me I needed veneers because I have a small gap in my front teeth. I'm not convinced I need fake teeth to cover up perfectly healthy ones for a purely cosmetic reason. This was going to be the bulk of my review - he's salesy and pushes people towards things they don't actually need. However, today I finally saw a new dentist. He showed me pictures of my teeth and the jagged-edged fillings that Dr. Bley did. Because the fillings weren't done well, they are causing new small cavities to form and need to be fixed. These fillings are just a few years old - good fillings should last about 10 years. I wish I'd gotten a new dentist sooner. If I could give 0 stars, I would. read more

I thought I liked Dr. Bley, and I don't know of any reason not to. Except ever since seeing him for dental work, I've choked on food four times requiring some form of Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the food. When I got a cavity filled I thought he gave me an injection around the back of my throat. He asked me which side of the mouth I chew food on, and I never thought much about it. But since that appointment I'll be darned if I haven't consistently choked on food. I'd never before choked on food. It's probably just a coincidence and technically not related at all, but I just can't get it out of my head. The teeth cleaning there is super strong, which I liked because I had lots of build up. But simply the response of I've gotten since having that filling gives me reason to withhold a five star rating. read more

I have seen Dr.Bley for over two years now and have to say he is a real artist in his field. I had two cavities fixed by him to the utmost possible perfection: painless, quick and shortly after I had left his office I just forgot about the teeth as all worked as if the tooth never had any issues.. His staff is amazing as well, the cleaning they do is one of the best I had so far. I highly recommend him, also because he has a great network of specialists he can refer you to (My wife had gum surgery through him and is very pleased as well). One of the best! read more

It really saddens me to write this review because I thought so highly of Dr.Bley and his staff. They're personable, friendly, thoughtful, etc. Anyway, after a routine replacement of an old filling on a lower molar, the molar directly above it started aching. He and his specialist both told me this upper molar needed to be replaced with an implant. I took my boss' advice and drove all the way to Connecticut for a second opinion from his dentist, Dr. Feldsman, who came in on his day off, to see me as a favor to his old buddy, my boss. Turns out, I didn't need all this work -- it was simply that Dr.Bley left the new filling on my lower molar "high", resulting in the irritation of nerves of the upper molar. Dr. Feldsman fixed it by simply re-adjusting my bite. It took 2 minutes and the pain immediately disappeared. He also looked at the x-ray, did a couple of other checks and said there was no obvious crack and no reason to replace this tooth with an implant. Dr. Feldsman has no ulterior motive for this dramatically different diagnosis: he's semi-retired, didn't charge me for anything and isn't looking for new patients....he was simply horrified by Dr. Bley. Before going in for extensive, expensive oral surgery, always get a second opinion. My doing so saved me from unnecessary oral surgery, 6 months of recovery and AT LEAST $8,000. More focused on making money than performing quality dental work. Extensive dental work is pushed at every visit (filling repairs, onlays, root canals, oral surgery & veneers) that is not necessary. Dental work is performed without verifying insurance and patient ends up carrying the full cost of the dental work. I have been Dr. Bley's patient for a few years now, and now I am switching to another dentist. First, his receptionist are very rude and before EVERY appointment ask if you can come in at a moments notice to accommodate their schedules AFTER you have asked them that you cannot switch appointment times. They also did a routine cleaning and did not verify this with my insurance which caused me to pay 300 out of pocket FOR A CLEANING. Additionally, after 6 years of braces, he weaseled me in to 4 months of invisalign ($1300 down the drain with no insurance coverage or discount at all) after which my teeth have spaces that they never had after braces. When I addressed the issue with him, he was not willing to put in a permanent retainer at my request. Although Dr. Bley is very friendly himself, I have liked the treatment I have received by his staff and have not been pleased with the overall care. read more

Dr. Bley's office is very clean and he has very convenient office hours (who else sees patients at 730? I'm never late for work after seeing him!). I had a dental emergency a few months back and his associate, Dr. King, was kind enough to see me during her lunch break. for 10 years, i traveled from LA to boston for dental cleanings and work when my not so great teeth needed it. i prided myself on being dr. bley's most loyal, long-distance patient, until he cleared that up, telling me about patients from all over the world. and i don't doubt it! dr. bley is the warmest medical professional i've ever encountered. always gentle and relaxed in his work, patient and thorough with explanations, and conservative with regard to treatments. because i traveled so far, i'd sometimes encourage him to do more work than he wanted to do (thinking preventively) and he was consistent in not wanting to do anything that wasn't necessary. his staff are all kind and friendly, the office is super clean and very comfortable. i've always said my least favorite experiences in life are flying and going to the dentist. dr, bley is so good, i actually choose the former to accomplish the latter with him. as oleta adams said, "i don't care how you get there, just get there if you can!" dr. bley is the best. read more
