The staff is warm, caring and professional, they hygienist was gentle and talked to me about my x-rays and even took before and after teeth-cleaning pictures. I was happy she did an oral cancer screening and learned it's standard practice here. Dr. Wright talked me through what I need to have done and answered all my questions. Top notch dentist!

But I'm so disappointed in this experience so I have to share.... I went to this dental practice in March for an evaluation and cleaning. I was told based on X-rays from another practice that I had 3 cavities and needed a crown. I completely trusted the evaluation and scheduled the appointment. Keep in mind, the previous dental office only stated I needed a deep cleaning. I returned for the temporary crown placement...as I have never had a crown, I expected to receive an explanation of what would be happening...I received no explanation and was told by the dental assistance with red locs to stop googling the procedure since it would just scare me...still no information was provided, only endless documents for me to sign releasing the practice from any liability...that should have given me pause but I proceeded. Afterward, I was told I may have minor discomfort but no one told me to take pain meds. The pain after I got home was so intense, I had to find some old pain meds from when I got dental work years ago to allow me to actually function at work. Ibuprofen was not enough! After temporary crown placement, I returned for the permanent crown in 3-4 week, this was the worst dental experience I have ever had! It was sooo painful! When the same dental assistant tried to remove the temporary she simply stated like me try without anesthetic...when I told her it was painful, she responded you didn't even let me try and seemingly had an attitude about it! Dr. Wright came in, provided an injection of anesthetic without even numbing the area. Once the temporary was removed she returned to place the permanent...I wasn't given a warning that it would be painful. It was the most intense pain I have ever experienced...I was only told it was expected when I literally jumped and moaned in pain...wtf! After that was over, I vowed to never return...well that doesn't end it... I continued to have discomfort the weeks following...I called to report it about 2 weeks after and was told to call back in a couple weeks if I continued to have pain...it continued and I decided to see another practice. I was then referred to an endodontist who said I needed a root canal...I've now had 2 root canals on the same tooth and still having issues... The lack of information provided before I received crown placement is my biggest issue...not blaming this dental office for the issue after the crown but at least inform patients of what is going to done and what to expect after is the least that should be provided. Talk to the patient. Also provide adequate pain management for procedures...I still shiver when thinking about when the permanent crown was placed...

Doctor and Dental Hygienist performed some other type of cleaning procedure which I was not told until checkout. (I did not notice anything different). At checkout, I was told that I had a Co-pay (and it was higher than my regular co-pay) for the procedure that had been done. I told her that procedure did not need to be done. (They did not have my previous x-rays or history and the x-rays they took we're good, no cavities, no bleeding, etc.). They would not adjust the charge at check out. No doctor (dentist, medical, eye, etc.) should perform a procedure without first telling the patient and getting patient approval.

When I came back, there was no official "one on one" in his office and when I was leaving, I was told I had to pay $200 for an "emergency dental visit" that they charged to repair a temporary solution while they figured out the "permanent solution." Long story short - it's giving scammer vibes and that they are taking advantage of people. I attempted to call the office several several times: in the past, Kasey picked up the phone right away. Now, somehow magically they don't answer bc they're supposedly all of a sudden so busy. When I discussed the issue with Shauna, she said she agreed and would speak with Dr. Vanstrom and call me back. She never called me back - I called her back and keep getting a phone off the hook. Then finally got a hold of Kasey who said Dr. Vanstrom would email me by the end of this week - he didn't and guess what? When I call again they won't answer. I will be disputing these charges but beware! Sketchy dental office. As soon as Dr. Vanstrom realized he couldn't put an implant in my mouth due to my root structure, I was suddenly a nobody.

The pandemic has been contained for several years, and PBD is still charging its customers this fee? Sad!!! Thanks for the travel toothpaste with flouride on my out the door. And last, they charged me for a procedure they didn't even perform. $60 for a therapeutic parenteral drug a.k.a a Therapeutic Drug Injection (D9610). Honesty is a big part of great customer service, and PBD revealed how dishonest they were with me once they sent me on way with the bill. PS... The way they coded my visit to my insurance company added an additional $80 to my bill. A procedure that should have been roughly $50 cost me $238. Also, PBD told me I had 2 cavities. Through the years I have gotten several fillings, cleanings 3 times a year, and great referrals. In 2025, the dental hygienist suggested that I get a deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning. I get my teeth clean three times a year for the last 12yrs and have very little plaque. On an X-ray there were circled to small spots that had plaque that they sent to my insurance company that could have easily been taken care of with a regular cleaning. The deep cleaning is more expensive and has over a hundred dollars out-of-pocket cost. I told them I did not want the deep cleaning. After that, the office staff refused to book an appointment for me unless, I got the deep cleaning instead of my usual cleaning. I can afford it, but I don't like dental offices forcing treatment on me because it's more profitable for them.

SHUT UP AND WAIT…read more.... though Dr. West is very nice and takes appropriate time w/patients (appreciated), this time is NOT reflected in how they book appts. After yrs of being in business, he knows the average time he spends for each type of patient appt...so there's NO excuse for overbooking appts, where you have to wait, and wait, and wait.... EVERY time I've had an appt over the yrs, I've had to wait 30min - an hour+ and today was no different. I went for a pre-deep cleaning appt where they needed to take blood pressure/check heart and sign some docs...which takes about 5 minutes. After 25min wait, I finally said something to staff about status and waiting for close to 30min for a 5-min appt was not acceptable. One staff member immediately responded with hostility, saying "well, it's going to be a while...quite a while before he's ready. I can take you back to a room but you're still going to have to wait" REALLY?? I was taken back and he took blood pressure and had me sign docs and left. I waited another 10 minutes and then walked up to front and said I was only going to wait another 5min. That came and gone so I walked out again and stood outside the room where Dr. West was (another 5 min)....so I could catch him as soon as that appt was done. NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT He came out and we walked into the room I had been in. I said he needed to address his booking tactics, that waiting for 40 + min for a 5-min appt was way overboard. He responded by stating he spends time w/patients and doesn't rush.....and that's GREAT but I told him this "time" needed to be reflected in his booking tactics so patients don't have to wait and wait and wait. He never apologized, never acknowledged my concern and my lengthy wait. Just completely ignored it. What DID he respond to??? He responded by saying his practice wasn't a good fit for me. That clearly showed he had no intention of addressing my concern and if I had just kept my mouth shut and continued to wait unnecessarily longer, everything would be OK. Sorry Doc, but treating patients like this (dismissing them if they DARE to confront you on continual, beyond lengthy wait times) is unacceptable. HEADS UP FOLKS cuz it was VERY apparent he had no intentions of changing anything....other than refusing service to anyone who confronts him. BAD BUSINESS...... BE AWARE FOLKS.....
