I'm really not sure how they have so many high reviews as I don't believe they are conducting business honestly. I was told that I needed thousands of dollars of dental work. Thankfully, I didn't do all of it, however I did start some and was told that my insurance would cover half. My insurance decided not to cover any of it, as they said the work was not necessary. Even after the dentist office resubmitted the claim, the insurance only paid out less than $127 vs the thousands I paid, still choosing not to cover majority of the work. I did see another dentist for my next cleaning, and lo and behold I did not need any of the other work that they claimed, with the exception of 2 fillings. Given this, and the refusal of my insurance to cover, I highly doubt I needed the work that was done as well. It's a shame that we cannot trust our service providers. Lesson learned. Hopefully, I can help someone else avoid this headache. read more

There are few times I can recall a dentistry experience as pleasant and excellent as it was with Dr. Buchanan from Dental Dreams LLC. The office space was clean, organized, had beautiful pictures of patients and their before and after pictures. The staff is diverse, respectful, and efficient! I arrived to a warm smile and welcoming voice from the receptionist and was walked through my teeth cleaning and filling procedure. I was immediately met with the hygienist to take x rays and trust me it was not a pretty sight! Due to relocating multiple times in the last few years I hadn't been able to find the right dentist but I'm so lucky to have found Dr. Buchanan who treats everyone with respect and provides all patients with beneficial information to improve their oral health. I was overdue to get a teeth cleaning and Dr. Buchanan provided the best practices and tips to keep them clean in between appts. I also had light decay on the two front teeth and needed to have a filling to cover it and Dr. Buchanan. My teeth looked brand new after Dr. Buchanan covered them and I truly have a Brand New smile!!! Dental dreams , ...try a dental nightmare! I was in search of a comfortable dental setting from my previous fears as most will have when visiting a dental office . Once I found dental dreams and from what I assumed seemed like a great idea,shortly changed my experience on local dental offices and the financial aspect of dental treatment greatly . I was a self-pay or limited delta dental insurance member who clearly had very little experience with the plan I purchased and maybe the fee schedules . So this I can surely say may have been my mistake along with considering their reviews in picking an office as a whole. This experience there was truly one to never forget. From the pics on the website, I assumed this place was high tech and boy is this misleading. When I arrived I called to see if it was okay to walk in mask ready of course. & I knew I had two-three major areas of concern. I'll bypass the front office staff because it's almost as if she's never there . And at most I can say the nicest person in room may have been the DA that took my X-rays. Shortly after the x-rays was when My appointment and exam took a turn. Ms.Freddy came for my teeth and probing as if she was ready to lay my gum line to rest . I can agree it had been some time from my previous treatment but I floss and have never in life felt tools so rough. The tools she used for scraping and probing looked noticeably old and rusty. Not to mention her attitude while at work and the uncompromising tone felt unmatched! Dr.B did come to my rescue and as I briefly spoke requested a copy of my x-rays , referral, and treatment plan. ( As this was what I was use to from previous dental offices at no hassle) . This apparently was a problem for them because after I asked I was told this can only be provided at my next visit. By that time I was ready ta go! ( No typo ) Following the end of my exam and killing I mean cleaning I was asked how my visit went from the sweet DA. & when I said the hygienist had an attitude and I felt discomfort, I seen the shift in the atmosphere. So I walked out as briefly as I could. But clearly this place is like the gift that keeps on giving.& of all things you accept but never asked for ... **Screams** To my surprise after paying my high copay and for my mouthwash I'd walk out with nothing more than a tooth brush, tooth brush case, and my mouth wash.No future plan of action. & you'd think I'd be done .... O'Nooooooo No less than a few weeks later, I received two freshly typed letters stating to never return to the dental practice or contact them again (without reason) . I've never been banned from a public place ever in life. So I had and have had no choice but to assume they weren't making the production as anticipated and my insurance being limited didn't help their situation. & ultimately they're not in the business to help me. (Probably would have also found out about their views along with there true hidden fees during my next appointment) I never received answers but what I ended up receiving took the cake. Without any further contact or future notice other than the " cease and desist" I received a hard inquiry and a final straw from dental nightmares. For an unknown past due balance that I assumed was all covered during the time of my visit ( but would have possibly known my coverage and remaining insurance amount or assumed had my insurance been verified and correctly claimed ) ... how do I contact a company that says don't contact us !?!? well...i dnt know read more

As a working peofessional Ive made it a goal to recieve all of my medical and dental services from black owned businesses.So I am very disheartened to report that I recieved the worst customer service from Dr. Z and her medical staff. I was never put on notice that Dental Dreams was out of Network for ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES prior to receiving treatment. I was told by the billing coordinator that my deep cleaning procedures had received preapproval for my dental insurance and charged my American Express the amount which I was told I was financially responsible for. After many failed attempts to discuss my concerns with Dr.Z, I called my insurance and was told that the deep cleaning was unnecessary and they would then not be paying for this procedure, also I asked for the billing coordinator to call and explain what had occurred. I never received a call back. Approximately 6 week later I was sent to a creditor for collections after a billing coordinator failed to give me a call back and the insurance company refused to pay the additional amount, referencing that dental procedure was not necessary, and that they would not be covering it. After being surprised with a notice in the mail from a creditor regarding the unsatisfied debt, I have course called to resolve the debt so that this would not impact my credit and communicated my disappointment in the customer service and communication to an employee at Dental Dreams. After calling repeatedly for 4 days and at one point having the phone hung up on my face. I received no apology, and was told that there must've been some miscommunication and then put on notice that dental dream is out of network for all insurance as they do not contract with any insurance companies when I finally got a hold of someone. This was new information to me as this was never given this information at my consultation or while doing any of my procedures. I'm very disappointed with the customer service I received from Dental Dreams and feel as if I was misled by the billing coordinator. I am now calling into question all suggested dental procedures, as it is my belief based on my discussed care plan as well as the care plan that was recommended for my husband that Dental Dreams is in the business of overwhelming patients with suggested recommendations for procedures, when in fact, these procedures may not be necessary, in attempt to conduct a strictly lucrative business transaction not caring to disclose the reality of how much the patient will be required to pay, which is malpractice. And further misleading patients by stating that they have received preapproval from dental insurance for services when, in fact, they do not check with dental insurance companies before preforming the services. I have a requested my x-rays be sent to me, satisfied my bill, and will be taking my business to another ethical customer service oriented dental practice. Reading other reviews it is very clear that the issues which I had with Dental Dreams are quite normal and I suggest and recommend that all patients do their due diligence in deciding if they would like to partner with Dr. Z and the rest of the dental dream staff in regards to receiving dental care read more

Just a warning to everyone who is trying to do IMPLANTS stay away from this office they do not have the skills or experience required to do a good implant. Dr Buchanan did a BUTCH UP job on me and still haven't managed to get it right. He attempt to fixed it but second time around he still couldn't fix it. I am having numerous problems from THROBBING, PAINING, GUM ABCSESS, TO FOOD SEEPING UNDERNEATH my implant. Right now I will have to go to another experienced qualified Oral Surgeon to fix it and Dr Buchanan refused to make this right with me he totally abandon me and do not care about what I am going through, not cool at all, what you done to me God have a way of things turning back and bite you in the ass Dr Buchanan I trusted you and you let me down. read more

Dental dreams was a nightmare ""one of the worse experiences I have had in my life.. First time client coming for a cleaning with insurance ,Dental dreams tried very very hard to up sell me service after I continues to say I only wanted what my insurance will pay.. I was pretty firm ,wanting only what my insurance will pay for but had to pay 52 .00 extra some how .. At the end of the service they recommend deep cleaning And was told I would not be able to get a regular cleaning . They were going to keep my $52 and put it toward my deep cleaning when I can afford it . When I ask for my money back for my cleaning , and said I wasn't coming back ,they found $20 extra to add to my bill me. So I left they billed my insurance ,charged me $52 billed me for $20 extra and I did not get a cleaning... read more

Want to let everybody know that getting treatment with Dr.Buchanan means you will have to make many appointments before you get your work done right. I had to get a root canal and a crown, 1st appointment had root canal done but was left opened letting food get trapped in the hole giving me bad mouth oder, 2nd had to go back to get it closed, 3rd visit was for me to get a cap (crown) which came off that same week that was put in.4th was the last and final visit getting the crown seated again due to it coming out on my vacation which made me feel self conscious. I agree with Sierra... His building used to be a bank, not really built for a dental office. They still develop film xrays, not digital - you get more exposure. The schedule can change on a whim, we've had to reschedule our appointment three times. When we call, no one picks up and we can't leave a message. His staff is nice but they are all fresh out of school and not very experienced. He tends to talk down to you, and if you try to say something, he'll interrupt you. Saturday appointments are impossible, you wait longer than your appointment lasts, don't feel like it's thorough. I could go on and on... Not coming back again, I'm done! read more
