I'm a little conflicted on what to say about Sage... if you look at all the other reviews, you can summarize their main issue is with financial and scheduling. I've had similar experiences being asked to reschedule my appointment, getting several bills and being ask onsite to pay for an amount I've already already paid, etc. Also, since there are several Sage dental offices, there seems to be a lack of integration between the corporate office's system and the local Tucker office's system resulting in multiple calls from Sage regarding the same issue. Now the question is, whether this is all due human error or system error.... I find most of the staff at this location to be friendly but I'm still deciding if the friendly staff is enough to stay. read more

Front desk staff do not care about their patients. When I walked through the door the young lady looked at me like I'm not supposed to be here and she didn't want to be bothered. That's a hit or miss every time I have an appointment. Long with misleading information. The back of the house provided great customer service and excellent work. II have been repeatedly trying to contact them to get my orthodontic transcript, but they are outright refusing to give it to me. Their unprofessional and disrespectful behavior has left me with no choice but to involve my legal team. If I could give zero stars I would. Currently still sitting in reception for a 12pm appt and it's currently 1:15 only to just be told the root canal scheduled for today is not going to happen because they are leaving for lunch and we can come back at 2pm for a consultation. What I experienced today at the Tucker location was absolute stupidity and blatant disregard, not only for my dental care, but my TIME. I called 1/14 to make an appointment to get my crown examined, a procedure that this office completed back in July/August of 2024. I paid out of pocket for the procedure as well. I've been having pain and extreme sensitivity in that area so much that I get headaches. Anyway, she sets the first available appointment for 1/16 @ 12pm. 8:30am on 1/16, I receive a text message and email that my appointment has been confirmed for 10am. I already took off work and set the appt in my phone for NOON. I call the office after 9am and tell them my appointment time is incorrect, it should be for 12pm. She stated the "system" changed my appointment and offered me a 2pm in which I agreed to. Fast forward to my arrival, I checked in about 5 minutes after 2pm. A hispanic girl with very long dark brown hair, jewels on her teeth and sparing eyelash extensions checked me in and asked to keep my insurance card to verify. After 20-25 minutes, she walks up to me and tells me that United Concordia's system was down so she was not able to verify my insurance and therefore, I could not be seen. I couldnt believe what I was hearing. I know technology can be fickle, but something in my spirit did not feel right. I asked clarifying questions about her not being able to verify my insurance and if I could just go to the Lawrenceville location since it is closer to my home. I reside almost 40 minutes away from the Tucker location so you could imagine my immediate annoyance of not being examined for an issue thats seriously bothering me. I'm at the counter getting ready to leave and then she tells me that I have a $422.10 balance and I wouldnt be able to be seen at any Sage Dental location unless its paid. I paid out of my pocket for my crown so I should have a ZERO DOLLAR BALANCE. I requested a print out and she provided me one. Once Im in my car, I pull off and I'm about 5 minutes away from the dental office. I call United Concordia to verify if in fact their system was down. The rep stated they werent having any system issues that she was aware of and was able to pull up my dental insurance information with no problem. At this point, Im shocked because why would the receptionist lie??? I stay on the phone with my insurance rep and turn around to go back to Sage Dental, while telling her what just happened. She told me they never got a phone call from any dental office on my behalf and she will stay on the phone. I arrive back, walk to the counter, wait for the hispanic girl to finish helping a man in front of me and when she was done, I tell her "Im speaking to a United Concordia rep and she stated their systems were never down, but you told me they were." Immediately, she says "okay. one moment, let me ask her". WHO IS HER? She starts talking to a heavy set, dark skin black girl with dyed maroon and blonde dreadlocks. While Im still on the phone with the United Concordia rep, I overhear the black girl say to her "No, I told you our internal system is down". I interject and ask "Did I just hear that its your internal system thats down? She told me that she called my insurance company and was told their system was down and thats why I was turned away after sitting here for almost 30 minutes." The black girl turns to me and says "We werent able to verify your insurance because you didnt have any in the system." I said, "Well I dont know how thats possible because I never called to add or remove any insurance. She told me that my insurance cant be verified because United Concordia's system is down, not you all's system was down." She says "Well we dont verify insurance the same day of the patient's appointment. We verify it 1-2 days before you come in." I said "I called 2 days ago and made the appointment so why wasnt my insurance verified then and if you didnt see any insurance information, why didnt I get a phone call to get it?". She literally contradicted herself and could not give me an answer. I just stormed out! read more

The front desk would not give me any pricing for cleaning over the phone. The exray that was taken of my mouth was not completely cover by my insurance when I had not made any claims this year and had more than enough money to cover charges. The dental hygienist began talking about deep cleaning when I have never been told I needed this service. I asked for of charges that would be incurred by this cleaning and it was $2513 before insurance. I immediately began looking for another dentist. I had a terrible experience at Sage Dental offices in their Stone Mountain and Tucker, GA locations. After developing a toothache on January 24, I was sent to see their ONLY endo Specialist. Dr.Yusuf, who supposedly specializes in these issues. Despite paying over $400 each visit and multiple x-rays from Jan. 2024 to Aug.2024 they failed to find anything wrong. They kept sending me back to their regular Dentist Dr. to Dr. Yusuf just to take more x-rays every time and charging me every time just to tell me it's in my head, even though I was in pain. Finally, I just paid and went to another dentist, who found a severe infection in my tooth, leading to an extraction AND the dentist stated because the infection was so bad the tooth next to it look infected, and he wanted me to see a specialist about it. ANYONE know seeing specialist IS very expensive. So, I contacted Sage office Manager to advised them of what I been through AND they were unwilling to address my concerns or offer any help. Their offices are nice looking, but their equipment HAS to be outdated, as they missed a serious infection that should have been caught sooner. BYE! I went to Sage Dental (corporate chain dental office) every six months for 3 years. I had the same hygienist every time, and while she was lovely, the front office/billing absolutely ruined any sentiment of goodwill I had. I had a HMO dental insurance plan through my employer and unfortunately that meant I was locked into Sage Dental and could not go elsewhere if I wanted services covered. (The insurance plan also was not great and my options were very limited anyway.) Despite my benefits packet stating that biannual cleanings were covered at 100%, every single time I came for a cleaning I paid over $100 out of pocket. When questioned why that was the case the front office was vague and did not provide me with a clear answer. Of course, the bill was always presented AFTER the services were rendered so I couldn't decline to pay for things. I spoke to many, many friends and family and all stated that they do not pay anything at an annual cleaning so they had no idea why I was being presented with charges. I had a sensitive tooth for over a year and asked what we could do and was told I should just rub sensodyne toothpaste on my gums and it would resolve the sensitivity. Spoiler: it did not. On my last visit (the 6th or 7th time in a row as scheduled every 6 months) my hygienist looked at all of my teeth and then told me that unfortunately she could see that I had gum disease and would need a deep cleaning that would run me several hundred dollars. Are you serious? I'd been seeing her every six months on the dot for the last 3 years and suddenly I have gum disease when 6 months ago and every other time before that I was fine? I politely told her that actually I needed to cut the appointment short because I had somewhere to go and could not stay and that I'd call back. I never went back and just ate the cost of my dental premiums for the rest of the year. I finally got off that insurance plan and on to another one and got in with a non-chain dental office. My new dentist performed an exam and said that I don't have gum disease. In fact he said that actually my teeth are in good condition, and that my one sensitive tooth is like that because it is rotated and in a bad position and has unfortunately progressed in a way that my nerve is exposed and that my options down the line if preliminary treatment doesn't work are going to be either a gum graft or a root canal. If it had been addressed in a timely manner it could have been halted but now I just have to hope for the best in desensitization because it will never go back to the way it was without either one of those procedures. I'll never recommend Sage Dental to anyone. Stay away. read more

My main problem here is that the communication is not clear. I was told 2 weeks ago that if I scheduled for my root canal here that I could get it done today. After sitting in the office for an hour and half, getting more xrays because the last visit staff did not save my other images, I was told I did indeed need a root canal and that I should schedule an appointment for another day to get one. I took a whole day off for work so I could get it done, and they did not abide by their word. read more

I recently visited this dental office due to a suspected need for a root canal, but my experience left me feeling victimized. The dentist spent no more than 10 minutes examining my teeth, which felt rushed, especially for such a serious concern. Oddly, in every dental visit I've ever had, the dentist usually sees me *after* the hygienist. However, in this office, the hygienist came second, which struck me as inappropriate and odd. To add to the confusion, the hygienist contradicted the dentist's advice. While the dentist recommended prioritizing the root canal, the hygienist said she disagreed with the dentist and insisted that I begin a deep cleaning treatment immediately and wanted me to come in the next day. It was unclear why the dentist and hygienist weren't aligned in their recommendations. There were also issues with my X-rays. The technician had to retake several, and when I requested the radiographs be sent to another dentist, I found out that three of the 18 intra-oral images were duplicates. I was missing three important X-rays, which was frustrating and unprofessional. I emailed the dental office about this issue and the response was to resend them. I let them know that they did not need to be resent but reviewed for accuracy and sent with the correct images and if they were not correct let me know when I could come in and have them retaken. I did not hear back so I went into the office in person. The office manager sent me all the images in my chart (25 images) without having anyone check for correctness or accuracy. The treatment plan they proposed was shocking. They recommended two crown replacements, treatment for two cavities, and a deep cleaning perio scaling on all four quadrants with special rinses and $880 worth antibiotic. The treatment plan totaled $8,900--*not* including the root canal I actually needed. I sought a second opinion from another dentist, who confirmed that I did need the root canal but found no cavities, no need for crown replacements, and no evidence of gum disease requiring a deep clean period-scale, special rinses or antibiotics. This left me feeling like the original treatment plan was excessive and most likely unnecessary. Additionally, despite my insurance covering intra-oral X-rays and the office visit, I was still charged $30, which added to my dissatisfaction with the experience. Overall, my visit left me feeling rushed, confused by conflicting advice, and concerned about the credibility of the treatment plan and the professionalism of the office. I do not recommend this office based on my experience. Lastly, the office has quite a number of one star reviews. They also have 5 star reviews but I suspect some of the five stars are fake due to the way they are written- vague and unspecific. I have filed a grievance with my insurance company and plan to write a complaint to the ADA. I am sure corporate will respond to this email and ask that I contact their customer support. Don't worry. I will and I am going to ask that a professional look at my radiographs for accuracy and if I need to come in to make an appointment so they can be retaken. I suggest that all unhappy clients write to the ADA and file grievances with their insurers. read more

Outright corrupt liars. Visited them to get a surgery clearance for my spouse. To clarify, my wife is about to have a serious surgery, and a dental clearance is required. They tried all the cheap tricks to squeeze as much money they could for unnecessary and unneeded procedures. They took an image of every single tooth! Then they attempted to sell a narrative of how many expensive treatments my wife needed. I told them that we weren't there for any treatments. All we needed is a surgery clearance, i.e. an evaluation of my wife's dental health and a decision. This made those liars furios. They called another "dentist", a very rude and arrogant woman, who "examined" my wife's teeth by just eyeballing without using any tools, and made a "conclusion", that all my wife's teeth were deeply infected and needed a "deep cleaning"! Moreover, one tooth was so "bad" that it needed an extraction! At this point we told them that we didn't need their corrupt "services" any more and left. A few days later we visited a different dentist. A very experienced one. He carefully examined my wife's dental health. And guess what? No infection found, no tooth extraction needed, the procedure took about 20 minutes, and he produced a dental clearance for the surgery! Conclusion: the folks at Sage Dentistry are outright criminals who should end up in jail for their lies. read more

I had oral surgery on Friday, 12/6. Friday evening I became extremely nauseated and vomiting due to a reaction to my antibiotic. THERE WAS NO AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER PROVIDED!!! I have been sick for 3 days and woke up early this morning to call them to change my antibiotic prescription. Numerous calls to this open business went to voicemail. I then called and figured if I was a "new" customer maybe I would get a response. A centralized answering service answered on their behalf. Their own answering service was unable to get through!! The answering service gave me an emergency contact number (not in Georgia), and even they couldn't get through to their Tucker office. I told the emergency contact person that it didn't bode too well for their company if even they can't get into touch with their Tucker office, especially since they're the emergency contact number. This company is so sketchy.... They are, however, on the ball when it's time to pay (right when you get there, prior to a good morning, kiss my ass, whatever). Do not use these guys. terrible experience. went there for a teeth cleaning, and was charged at the desk $40. $20 for copay and $20 extra charge for xray for a supposed free annual cleaning in my BCBS in network provider. After inspection, they quoted me for over $1000 deep cleaning and another $2000 for some supposed crown I needed... I declined their services and went to another dentist down the road and had a teeth cleaning for free, and didn't pay anything, not even a copay. I have been using this office for three years but recently the quality of service in the front office and therefore the ability to see a professional dentist has been severely compromised. I have called and texted this office for two weeks trying to make a follow up appointment to complete dental work that had been started. I spoke to an answering machine but no one returned my call. I tried to do an online appointment and again never heard anything back. Finally I drove to the location to make an appointment and I must say the admin staff were definitely not BUSY so I don't know why for a 2 week period they couldn't answer the phone or return a phone call. I'm told that the periodontist was no longer at the office and I would see the new periodontist the next day. On the day of my appointment, 1 hour prior to seeing the dentist I get a call that the new periodontist refused to see me and clear me for the next stage and I would have to make an appointment in Buford GA, 2 hours from my house so that the original dentist could approve my next step. This is OUTRAGEOUS! If this guy was dead, obviously the new dentist at the practice with the same skill set would take over. This shows a complete lack of concern for the patient. With the prices that this corporate dental office charges the least they could do is continue the treatment plan that they have charged you for at the office that's near your home. It's evidently obvious that SAGE DENTAL and specifically the Tucker location doesn't focus on patient care, but on their own convenience. read more

I had dental insurance, but had to pay in full before I saw the dentist. I was charged for a procedure that the endodontist said was not needed. After several months, I was reimbursed for the amount the insurance paid to Sage, but I was never reimbursed for the test I was told was not done because it was not needed. I was told when I left the office and during phone calls that I would be reimbursed, but I could never get anything in writing. The people there were very nice to me. They understood my needs. They were very professional. The biggest pro was that being that I'm very hard of hearing they didn't insult me by telling. I told them that I wear hearing aids and they just spoke up a little. When I had to take out my aids the tech did his best to lead me to what and where he needed me to go and do. Terrible customer service, they tell you have no co-pay when you check-in but add a co-pay at the end. To be clear, I don't have a problem paying a co-pay I have a problem when I specifically ask what my co-pay is and was told there was none then to add one later. The manger of the location was rude, I asked for the corporate number and was given the number for a management team which never returned my calls. During the same time period their billing department calls me daily to get a copy of my insurance card which was given upon check in and provided again. So their phones work. I finally looked at the better business bureau, and they have had several complaints on the same issue. Pick another dentist if you care about customer service and not just being a number. read more

I had my first appointment for a root canal. I have insurance coverage. They charged me $244.00 and as I was being serviced they asked or $178.00. I told them to call the insurance company. As I was leaving they said it was taken care of. Later I received a call while in traffic that the issue that was taken care of is now $78.00 additional to the $244.00. The employee asked for my credit card number which I did not provide. I told them I would call back with it....Fast forward....I called the Insurance company and they said I was overcharged $133.00 already. They owe me a refund. If I had given my card # the second time I would have been overcharged exactly $311.00....If you have insurance......Do not go to Sage.......My insurance company is currently working on this issue.......It has been a nightmare. read more

Dr Coronado was not listening and I hope his daughters are never treated this way. The best!! I'm so glad I came here. The entire staff is friendly and warm. They are very efficient and knowledgeable. They quickly answered every question I had in detail. My exam was beyond thorough. I have full confidence that nothing was missed. Maryland cleaned my teeth better than they have ever been. I'm truly amazed, also there is absolutely no pain even after a partial deep clean of one section my gums. Dr Post literally said beside me, made eye contact with and answered all my questions as if I was the only patient she had to see all day, which I know was not true because I could see/hear others.
