    Poorly sewed straps
    Bianca T.

I had a horrible experience with this place. I really didn't want to leave a bad review but I am typing this as we are on our way to our destination wedding and looking for a place to fix my dress. I dropped my dress off in June, I was getting married in July. She kept telling me I've been doing this for 10+ years, we know what we are doing..etc. Dani was nice and I trusted her. I needed the dressed shorter, add a few inches on the top and she recommended sewing the straps. I told her, I wouldn't able to come in for the 2nd fitting because I live in Vegas but she made very detailed notes on what I needed off so I didn't think it would be an issue. I was supposed to pick up my dress July 22 but we didn't get a call, my fiance and I show up the next day and she had no clue. She was looking everywhere for the dress and my fiance had to show a photo of what my dress looked like. Then she asked when the wedding date..we said the 26th and she assured us come back Monday and the dress will be ready. Well, shoot...WE TOLD HER WE LEAVE TOMORROW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THE DAY BEFORE. She assured us it is done and that it's just at her seamstress' place and she would need to pick it up, give her an hour. So we come back in an hour, the dress doesn't fit. I don't think they even added any room on the top at all. She said come back at 5pm and she will have it ready. Dani was saying, it was a quiet dress and that it's wedding season..they were more busy with the 12 layer dresses, as if I wasn't important because I was wearing a bridesmaid dress as my wedding dress. She even said, it was a month ago and since I was from out of town, she forgot about it. Which was weird because in the beginning, I was getting my alterations a bit late. I had to remind her multiple times what she needs to do with my dress. I had an appointment to get my hair done and so my fiance had to pick it up..the dress still didn't fit. The straps were poorly sewed and she didn't return my garment bag that I paid for extra at the bridal shop. One more thing that bothered me,she kept calling me "kiddo" and my fiance and I "kids" that she would give us $30 off because the inconvenience, that we had to come back 3x and us "kids" could use the extra for gas money. She also kept calling me the wrong name..when she asked for my remaining balance, I was charged wrong, later on I realized she had the wrong customer. She was looking everywhere around her messy desk for my paperwork. Bottom line, very unpleasant experience. I am not even sure I can wear my dress.

The bridal party went from enjoyment to complete mood killer after we were reprimanded for pulling a dress down that was not approved by the girl helping us. She first told us she doesn't like to even show dresses that aren't in there budget even though there was nothing she liked in her price range and almost to just settle. I don't quickly told her that price range can change especially if there is nothing she even kind of likes. I didn't know you weren't suppose to look at dresses on racks because some aren't even available until fall . I tried to explain that we needed to get into at least the style she liked. We had to keep asking for the veil and the gloves. I have gone to so many bridal dress fitting and that one experience spoiled me forever Almost like the movie "pretty woman" when Julia Robert's try's to go buy a dress and she gets treated poorly until Richard gear goes with her.

I am 36 years old and knew I wanted a modest dress. When I met with the planners at the church, they shared with me the Wedding Policy which included some tips for brides on modesty. In it, there were three websites for examples of modest wedding gowns, which I found very helpful. One of the websites was for Moments Made. I was surprised to see how many of the dresses I loved on their website! However, I was bummed to see they were not local to Arizona. But fortunately for me, I travel to Salt Lake City often for work and already had a trip planned there. I was SO excited to book an evening appointment at Moments Made while I was there for work. I went in on a Tuesday evening and pretty much had the entire place to myself. My consultant, Amber, was SO helpful. She made me feel like a princess, ensured she had a grasp of what I was looking for. And luckily, I had already obsessed over the website enough where I had about 8 dresses picked out. We tried on many of them and (as I'm sure happens with most brides), the one I thought would be the top contender wasn't really jiving with me. Towards the end of my appt, I was torn between two dresses. Amber was patient with me and allowed me to try both on again and spend quite a bit of time in each. She even dressed me up with a veil, had me hold flowers, put on jewelry, etc. It really helped to be able to see the whole look come together. What I appreciate most is how thoughtful she was in helping me narrow it down. She could tell I was very torn and I didn't have any family or friends present with me to help make the decision. She asked me "What do you NOT like about each dress?" I told her for Dress #1, I didn't like that it was sparkly and it was a bit too heavy. For Dress #2, I told her that I didn't like that it was V-Neck (I wanted sweetheart) and I wanted it to have a tad fuller of a skirt for an A-line dress. Very quickly, she was able to show me that Dress #2 could be altered to make it sweetheart and also add layers underneath to make it a fuller skirt. On the contrary, it would be pretty impossible to remove the sparkles off of Dress #1. And just like that, I had my answer and was able to to say "yes" to the dress! Amber also helped me to try to find a local seamstress in Arizona (I ended up going with someone else, but still appreciated her going out of her way). She also picked out a veil and earrings for me that looked really nice. I figured "Oh well I'll buy them and probably end up getting something else later on." But sure enough, those were the earrings I ended up wearing on my wedding day! I also got a store credit for buying the dress and was able to buy some nice sweaters while I was in store as well. Surprisingly, as someone who is very fickle (especially with fashion), I am shocked to say that I purchased my dress in October, got married in June and NEVER once did I waver on purchasing this dress. It was so perfect for me and I got so many compliments on it. I look back at the pictures now and feel like it is a timeless, classic dress. I felt so beautiful in it and am very grateful to Amber for helping me narrow down the perfect dress for my big day!

The level of service has dropped off considerably and customer service and business practices at this location are now shady at best. Manager engages in bait and switch practices and sales associates are either new, incompetent or shady as well. I went in last week to purchase a belt and specifically inquired about black Friday deals on custom suits. The sales rep told me they would be 30% off for black Friday and that sale would start on Wednesday the night before thanksgiving. I go into the store on black Friday. I confirmed with the sales associate that the suits were 30% off and proceeded to take measurements and get fitted for four suits. When I go to check out the discount is not present. Sales associate checked with manager and he said there was no sale on the custom suits. I told him I had specifically confirmed the sale on custom suits with two different sales associates on two separate days. Dude could care less and told me to go pound sand in his polite manager way. Steer clear of this location. There are plenty of other options around the valley or online with trained associates and managers who don't routinely engage with bait and switch practices.

As far as I can surmise, the PCCC is the upstairs with all the women's cowboy clothes, boots, etc. That would make sense as and the woman gave me a strange look when I made my way up there. At one time, the upstairs had antiques and collectibles ... the only remnants of these days are the Coca-Cola ephemera all over the place (it's cool stuff, probably enough for a Coke museum). Downstairs is what I consider to be and Southwest Indian Traders. The mildly culturally insensitive name is perfect for a mildly culturally insensitive store. If you get past the life-sized cigar store wooden Indian (that will remind you of that Seinfeld episode), the Native American-themed slot machine, the culturally appropriated statues, nicknacks, and jewelry, you'll find some cool collectibles: license plates, even MORE Coke stuff, historic skiing collectibles, Western gear, books, and souvenirs, as well as carved bears and turquoise jewelry for miles. If nothing else, it's a kaleidoscope of kitsch that'll take you an hour to get through. It's worth the time!

THE DETAILS: PCCC is a vendor for Jim's Formalwear AND they have a great collection of boots and clothing. I worked with them to get suits for the groomsmen and ushers in my wedding. It was a destination wedding and I had the privilege of working with a wonderful woman by the name of Ella from start to finish. She collected measurements and payment information from hundreds of miles away, and coordinated everything for me. Not only a wonderful woman, but extremely professional and helpful. That said, Doug is the owner of the business. Beyond his great collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia in the store, he is a really good man. He personally helped my family and I when we did the final fitting/alterations, and picked up the suits the day before the wedding. At every step they were great! We had a couple situations with last minute changes in the wedding that Doug and Ella went above and beyond to help us with. I can't say enough about them!
