My mother-in-law went 2 weeks without hot water. She received one estimate for a new gas tankless water heater for $6,600 from a well known plumbing company that advertises all over tv and radio. She wanted other quotes but No one would even get back to her with an estimate. Some companies were two weeks out, just for an estimate. I called Rick at Dannan Plumbing on a Sunday afternoon. Our 75 gal hot water heater failed on us and started leaking in the basement. After getting an ourtageous quote from another company on a Friday afternoon, we gave Rick a call and he was quick to provide us quotes for both a new tank, or a tankless model. We did some research and decided we were willing to spend the extra money on an upgrade to tankless, plus a recirculation line. He was here on Monday morning (could have come sooner for a slightly higher price, but we were fine waiting), and finished the job same day. Rick also gave us some options on where to route the recirculation line, pointing out the pros and cons of each. He and his crew were polite, cleaned up everything when they left, and even gave our kids an education on some plumbing basics. Overall we were really pleased with the work. Rick was a great communicator and very straightforward about things - it never felt like there was a hard sell at any point in the process. The owner, Rick, was kind, professional and he and his employees, Chad and Andy, went above and beyond what I paid for. My water tank broke on a Wednesday afternoon, I called Dannan Plumbing LLC and was given a very reasonable quote and by 4:00 pm, Chad was there to shut it off for me and answer the questions I had. He was so nice and very patient. Chad and Andy were back at 7:00 am and I had a new tank installed (and the old one taken away) by 9:30 am- which included extra work that I was not charged for! Rick sent a text (with a photo), letting me know that the guys noticed my chimney hookup was backwards and they had already fixed it for free- before he sent the text- and there was no charge for the work performed. Rick Dannan just left after installing a new gas water heater, a toilet, fixing another toilet, and snaking a clogged drain. I have to say he is the best plumber I've hired for such jobs at my house of the 40 years I've lived in it. He is knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and his work is excellent. I highly recommend him for any plumbing issues or installations. He charged what was quoted and didn't charge me for a few small fixes that were big fixes for me. DANNAN PLUMBING LLC 315-380-0889 (Onondaga) - I hired them to come to my house clear a drain, They said they would attempt to clear drain from two points, Halfway through job they got a phone call for a bigger job with 40 units in need of emergency plumbing work. I explained that they were only half way through the job and that they hadn't touched the other access. They then said they would return the following day. Once he got paid $200.00 he refused to take my calls. There were two guys that arrived. The first guy was so eager to get to the other job he didn't care about payment for my job. He literally jumped in his van and hauled out of the driveway within seconds. The second younger guy hung around and convinced me that they would return the following day. I paid them on their word. Which I now realize was not a good idea. If you are looking for a plumber I highly recommend you don't fall for smiling faces that will tell you anything you want to hear to get paid. Always contact your city or town water/ sewer dept. for advice before proceeding, and take their advice, they will guide you in the right direction. read more

I called Rick Dannan a couple years ago to inspect some ancient galvanized plumbing in my basement. He showed up the next day,gave me a complete explanation of what would be needed and when he could do the work. He returned on the agreed date and completed the work in less than a day. It involved replacing all the old galvanized with PEX as well as installing new shower fixtures on the second floor. The guy is a real pro - watching him work,you know he's doing it right.
