The plumber calls me an hour after and told me that the problem is that he needed to snake the pipe. Before snaking the pipe, he had to unscrew tiles to get to the pipe. He asked for my payment information and I gave it to him (too trusting of an idiot that I am) without asking him for the price. After giving him the payment info, I asked him for the price. I was not provided with an estimate of the cost of the job before he started work. The bill came out to be $322.49 after tax for ONE HOUR's worth of work. I emailed and called Peter (the owner) and had no success in speaking with him directly. I was offered a $25 discount for the next job from one his employee that snaked the pipe.

I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler.
