Tom and Dan came out as scheduled. They took two steps into my home, (we just had the floors redone), so I asked them if they had booties. They walked off the job. This is the easiest appliance repair compNy I've ever had to deal with. I called them over the weekend because my washer broke. Tom picked up listened to my issue and told me he would call me back between 7 to 7:30 Monday. Fast forward to Monday he called me 7:30 on the dot. Said he would be there 9-11. 9:40 he calls and they are on their way. They came over and changed the belt. After that it had to cycle through because it's the new fangled kind that has a bunch of electronic crap. So they left for another customer and told me to give them a call after it cycled through. Of course it didn't work and it kicked my bracket off. I have them a ring and they said they had to call Speed Queen to trouble shoot and get back to me. So of course I thought they weren't going to get back to me and now the issues would start. Not so! Within an hour they called me back to say they had spoken with a tech and the electrical board had to be replaced. They'd be back in 20 minutes. It's awesome to work with a company that is punctual and does what it takes to keep the customer satisfied. Make sure you tip these guys! read more

When smoke started coming out of my washer, I immediately called the nearest washer service and figured it would be a week or so before I got them out here, especially because it was a few days before Christmas. But Tom said he'd be over in 20 minutes, and he was. Just an hour later, he had fixed the issue and all was well. I rarely write reviews (and usually I only write them for especially bad services that infuriated me), but I was so blown away by how quickly they came and how well they did their job that I had to write them a review. Calling an appliance service and having them at your house within 20 minutes, and the problem fixed only a little over an hour after your call is just unheard of, so they need to be commended for it. read more

Called Northeast Washer Service on a Monday and Tom told me he would call me on Tuesday and did. Tom came on time and evaluated the problem. We thought it was fixed but it still was not. I called Tom again today and he made time to come back out. He replaced some parts and was very kind. His partner as well. Thanks Tom and partner. I had a similar situation to the reviewer below - small Philly rowhome with a small basement stairwell. had to buy the Speedqueen washer and dryer which can be assembled in pieces in the basement. Tom was horribly rude and at first I just had to tolerate it because I thought he was the only installer in the area (according to the store I bought the appliances from). He YELLED at me and 1 day he even hung up on me! Then he cancelled his appointment....after I had already scheduled a vacation day to take care of this. When he offered to come another day I told him no way in hell. This guy is an ass. There was no way I would have paid him $1 to install that W+D. Well, I went to speedqueen and found a company closeby that sold and repaired the washers and dryers and asked if they would be willing to install them even if they were purchased from elsewhere. Needless to say, AJ Appliances (west passyunk ave, south philly) came over, set up the W+D....and set it up properly, with no belt issues (see review below mine). During the install one of the employees informed me that I had no drain, only the water supply...which was something I never even thought to look for! But alas, that was no problem, the installer came back on his own time the next day and instlled a drain for me as his own personal side job. Now that's awesome service!!! NE Washer is horrible. I reported my issues to the appliance store I purchased my W+D from and they no longer refer people to him for installation. I hope he reads this too and knows what being rude to 1 person can do to a business! read more

Not closed Since my 23" wide Fishtown basement door is so narrow I had to buy a washer/dryer that can be taken apart and reassembled downstairs. The appliance store set me up with Tom from Northeast Washer Service. Tom gave me a call to set up a date for install. On Friday he called me up in the morning to let me know he was going by the store to pick up the washer/dryer because the appliance store delivery guys were "too slow" for them. Tom came by with a helper and they wound up taking apart the units on the sidewalk and carrying them inside and downstairs. They were very quick and got both of them downstairs and working in only about 30 or 40 minutes. After my first load of laundry the dryer stopped working correctly. The drum wouldn't spin if there were more than a few items inside. I gave Tom a call and left him a message. He called me back on Sunday and said the belt probably flipped over and he would be by first thing Monday morning. Monday morning came and about 10 minutes later my dryer was fixed! Tom was very polite and worked very quick. I was very happy with his work and will definitely call him if I need any maintenance or repair. read more

I hate leaving reviews but the washer dryer look fine and NOW work fine but the 2 guys they sent 1 of them was very incompetent didn't catch his name but he must of been having a bad day because of him they scratched the hell out of my wall trying to get it into my basement and worse he only got half way down the stairs before he was begging for help my 60 year old severe heart patient father had to help carry or he would have fallen they also got blood all over the new washer which he very fortunately cleaned up (thanks for that at least) but that was the worst job I've ever seen I could have paid 2 homeless people way less than $200 and gotten the same experience if not better so to recap the units are great but watch who they send out to to put them in read more

I have an older home with smaller space to get into my basement. There used to be a few local appliance stores that sold 25 inch Whirlpool or Hotpoint washer/driers but those stores have closed and Home Depot and Lowes only sell 27 inch and bigger. Other family members had good experiences with Tom/NE Washer so I gave him a call. He stopped by to measure and said it would have been a tight squeeze but I could have gotten a STD size whirpool washer but I decided to go with the more expensive Speed Queen which fit more easily (less to worry about damaging it on the way down the steps). He called me first thing Monday morning and gave me a 2 hour window for Monday morning. He showed up on time and had the old washer out and new washer in about 20 minutes! New machine works great. About 7 months ago, Tom came out and provided warranty service for our Speed Queen dryer, part of a stacked unit. He was great. Responsive, on time and pleasant. Today I called him to service the washer control board which has gone belly up. He informed me he no longer services stacked units. Why, I asked several times, out of genuine curiosity (wondering if I've made a mistake getting a stackable). His prerogative to refuse to answer, I guess. He just kept repeating "I don't service stacked anymore" as if it was self-evident. I don't really see how you can be on a list of recommended servicers for a company when you refuse to service select items. Odd and annoying. read more

My experience with Tom and this company was excellent! I needed an appliance service to breakdown a Speed Queen dryer so that it fit down a small basement In a Manyunk row home. He arrived ahead of the delivery truck as promised and easily disassembled, and reassembled the dryer in the basement. He also, disassembled the dryer that was down there when we realized it wouldn't fit to be taken by the appliance company. His fee was exactly as promised as well as charging me less for the old dryer disassembly. He was very nice as was his assistant. He was neat and careful to not damage narrow walls and doorways with the appliances. I will definitely use this company again for my next appliance needs. read more

I have been using Northeast Washer for years and so have many of my neighbors. Tom, the owner is nice guy. I have used him for service on my Speed Queen washer and dryer. He also installed my wall ac unit. Tom and his helper have always shown up when scheduled and his prices are fair. He returns my phone calls promptly and I have never had to wait more than a day or two for an appointment. I would highly reccomend Northeast Washer Service. read more

Tom came and fixed an installation problem (C&D Appliances put the dryer together wrong - causing the thermostat to misread the temperature. The dryer was dangerously overheating; baking our clothes and creating a terrific burning smell that permeated our clothing and home. C&D also didn't install the rubber seal around the dryer door - it was left hanging below the door inside the dryer). Tom came when he said he would (called because they were a running a little late), diagnosed the problem and fixed it immediately. All the while showing/explaining to me what had gone wrong. Everything was covered under the Speed Queen warranty. **We also have a 23" basement trap door and were limited to the type of washer/dryer and number of local installers. Wish I had chosen Northeast when I purchased/installed the washer/dryer. C&D was horrible (rude, left a mess and clearly did not do a proper job installing a gas dryer).Thanks Tom! read more
